C5 The Wedding

5. The Wedding

An orange tinge seemed to hang on the western horizon, indicating that time would soon turn to night. Rifki drove his vehicle through the traffic jams of the capital. His face was cheerful, his lips were smiling, he could not wait to meet Mesya at the place he specified earlier when he contacted her.

From a distance, a woman wearing a purple sweater combined with her hair deliberately pulled up, was sitting dreamily with a cup of latte still steaming in her hands.

Rifki cleared his throat to confirm his presence, making Mesya look up.

"Have you been waiting long?" Rifki asked pleasantly, a smile on his face that just appeared to make his handsome face shine even more.

Did not know, Rifki was happy when he could meet Mesya again in the afternoon which he thought was very cold, but when he saw Mesya in front of him, the atmosphere seemed to warm up suddenly.

Mesya stood up from her seat, then invited Rifki to sit down. And the man took a seat right in front of Mesya, making the girl blush because she got a smile full of eyes.

Both of them were nervous. Masha looked down shyly, while Rifki was a little confused to start a conversation. Finally Rifki called a waiter to order food. "Have you ordered as well?" Rifki asked while flipping through the menu book.

Mesya shook her head slowly then she glanced at the man who happened to be looking at her with an awkward feeling.

"Order food first, then we'll talk," suggested Rifki, who immediately got a nod.

Mesya also chose to open the menu book and chose food to enjoy. Rifki cleared his throat again to neutralize the nervousness in his chest. His heart was too fast like a teenager who had just met his first love, even though he was already 40 years old.

It did not take long for their orders to arrive. Sometimes Rifki's eyes look towards Mesya, and so as Mesya to him. Rifki put down the cutlery and started talking. "So, what do you want to talk about?" Rifki asked, starting the conversation.

Mesya, who was about to feed the pasta into her mouth, immediately stopped. Seconds later she took a drink and took a deep breath. However, her decision that time was for the sake of treating her sister. "May I accept the offer you made this morning?" Mesya asked with her eyes lowered. She felt her face stiffen when Rifki looked at her deeply.

"Are you serious?" Rifki asked back to make sure.

Mesya nodded slowly. "I have one condition, I need a lot of money," Mesya answered with a pitiful face.

"Sure. But don't you know what I said this morning? I'm already married and she …."

"I have no problem being a second wife. As long as you are nice, I will fulfill all your wishes."

Rifki leaned back against the chair. Then he looked at Mesya closely to look for honesty there. At first glance he thought that Mesya was the same as women out there who were willing to give themselves up to married men as long as they got whatever they wanted.

"Please don't misunderstand," Mesya said immediately, afraid that Rifki would think badly of her. "My sister has cancer, and she has to undergo a third operation. Frankly, I have no money."

Mesya kept her head down, she also told her sister's condition and the chemotherapy that might have to be carried out after the operation. At times like this she could not work, because she had not graduated from college yet and also it was impossible to collect a lot of money as soon as possible. Meanwhile, she was afraid that her sister would be late in getting treatment. After all, Mesya no longer had parents, and Alin was the only sister she had after her uncle and aunt in the village.

Mesya felt relieved after telling everything to Rifki. Let the man think badly of her, clearly she did need money, while the man in front of him needed a wife to serve him. Mesya also surrendered if Rifki refused, which was clear that she had tried and the decision came back to Rifki.

It did not take long for Rifki to think until he made his decision. The man was used to making quick decisions, just like when he was at his company. "Okay, if that's the conditions you put forward, I accept. I am willing to marry you and promise to pay for all of your sister's treatment," said Rifki lightly.

Mesya looked up and looked at Rifki full of emotion, without even realizing it, her tears just escaped from her round eyes. "Thank you, Mr. Rifki," Mesya replied enthusiastically.

Meanwhile, Rifki started to think about contacting the people closest to him, including Resha who would definitely be surprised by his quick decision.

The sun was still shrouded in fog, the leaves clinging to the branches of the trees were still wet from the dew from last night. Early in the morning a catering car stopped in the yard of Amalia's house. The woman, who was still beautiful at the age of sixty, was a little surprised when several employees dressed in typical restaurant clothes brought several boxes of food and also tools for the buffet.

Amalia immediately confronted them in front of the main door. "What's this, I didn't order that much food."

One of the catering staff spoke. After putting everything in front of Amalia's door. "We were only ordered to deliver, Ma'am. Block B no. 5?"

"That's right, that's my house number," Amalia said immediately.

Then the catering employee explained everything, that the food they sent was ordered by Rifki Fradana, which surprised Amalia for a moment. But, she also did not ask much anymore because they certainly did not know anything.

After they rushed away, Rifki's black car pulled into his yard. Another car that Amalia did not recognize followed. Some men came down from there.

She was even more surprised when Rifki got off with a young girl who got out from the other side of his son's car. Amalia watched them with a furious heart, and her head was full of questions.

Rifki approached, followed by several others. Rifki immediately kissed Amalia's hand and asked the others to enter the house.

"What is this, Rifki, explain to me," asked Amalia with a confused face. She saw the woman next to Rifki who was already beautiful in a white kebaya.

Before Rifki had time to explain, another car came and parked not far from Rifki's car. Budi Fradana, Amalia's first child and his wife, Indayani, got down from there and immediately walked over. "What's this, Budi?" asked Amalia. Again she was surprised.

Budi shrugged not knowing. The married couple with a child greeted Amalia respectfully.

Meanwhile, Inda glanced slightly at Rifki and to the girl that her brother-in-law talked about last night. Yes, Rifki told Inda and asked her for advice.

"We'll talk inside," Rifki said to everyone.

Amalia nodded in agreement, after her shoulder was grabbed by Inda from behind.

Rifki also explained to Amalia his intention to remarry after introducing Mesya as his legitimate candidate. But of course he did not explain what Mesya meant to marry him.

Amalia covered her mouth in disbelief at her son's decision to act so quickly. "What about Resha, does she already know?" Amalia asked weakly.

"Resha has agreed and allowed it," Rifki said with a sigh. Remembering Resha's words last night, made him even more sure to marry again.

"Yes, if that's what you want." Even though she was a mother, she could not resist. The decision was still in the hands of Rifki alone.

In the end, the sizable living room, people entered. The consent of acceptance finally came from Rifki's lips. Aloud he recited what the guardian judge said in just one breath. Rifki gave a dowry in the form of a very large savings account.

"How are all the witnesses? Is it legitimate?" the chief asked.

"Legitimate!"

"Legitimate!"

"Legitimate!" the people answered in unison.

From behind, Inda inserted a red velvet box into Rifki's hand so that the man could put it on his wife's ring finger. "Thank you, Ma'am," said Rifki, touched by the gift from his sister-in-law.

Inda nodded with a smile. "You must have no time to buy your wife a ring. Incidentally, I had a gift from Budi, unfortunately it was too small," Inda laughed while glancing at her husband.

Amalia did not have any preparations because everything was so sudden for her. Not many were invited, indeed, only a few employees were representatives of the company where Rifki worked. There were no more than ten people. Meanwhile, from Resha's side, no one was invited, all at Resha's request so that no one would find out and divulge it to her family.
