PARKER'S POV
After school I went outside but couldn't find Marisa anywhere 'as usual', so I had to wait again for her cause that's practically what I've been doing since three days ago.
After some few minutes of waiting I saw her from a distance coming out with a girl and laughing loudly *that annoying laugh*, they laughter as though they weren't in school, and if someone should see them, he/she would think they've known themselves for ages.
When she got to where I was standing, she bid *the girl* which I presume to be her new found friend goodbye.
While we waited, non of us utterd a word, not until Marisa broke the silence
"You should taste some of this muffins, Taylor made in cooking class" I turned and saw her handing me a muffin. Jeez it tastes sooooo good
"It tastes lovely,and it's way better than yours, you should take cooking lessons from her"
"Give me more" I requested greedily with a smirk
I'm pretty sure that annoyed the hell outta her cause she just gave me a massive eye roll
since I wanted it so bad, I had no other choice than to beg for it, i was later handed two more muffins and three cookies.
We waited for about twenty more minutes before mum showed up
"FINALLY" I said in my thoughts before moving towards our ride
"Mum what kept you,we've been waiting" I Inquired
"Is that how to say Hi?"
"Sorry mum, but we've been waiting for a while now though"
"Sorry I ran late, I got tied up with some stuff, anyways how did today go?"
"It went well for me" Marisa answered, but just immediately I followed suit
"Awful"
"And why's that?"
"First, Marisa didn't show up on time, was busy laughing her ass out with a friend and secondly, you didn't show up on time as well, we had to wait"
"Mind your language Parker, Honey you've made a friend so fast " She turned to Marisa and asked
"What would I say, I'm social" she replied with a smirk on her lips
"That's not the point of all this" I huffed
"You know what, let's just get going"
While we were on the road heading back home Marisa suggested something brilliant
" Why don't we take a cab for school everyday, cause we can't subject ourselves to trecking cause of the distance"
"Yeah that's true " I added
"OK, then if that's ok with you two, then it's fine with me "
"Thanks mum " we both chorused .
MARISA'S POV
When we got home, not quite long after, we met Dad working on something on his laptop, it looks official and I met Evie in the dining room eating lunch on my way to get a bottle water
" Hey sis, how was school today "
"Good, to an extent" she spoke with her mouth filled with tacos
"How ?"
" I got into a quarrel with Lucy"
"Who's Lucy?"
"A girl in my class, she made our homeroom teacher punish us"
"Oh, sorry about that sis "
"Nah I'm good now "
"Afternoon Dad" I heard Parker greet which he replied to
"You didn't go to work today" it was more like a question but I didn't stay down there to listen to what his reply would be.
After freshening up, I went down to make my lunch, I just made a sandwich and took it up to my room with an orange juice, cause I wanted to eat it while I do my school work
My Science assignment wasn't really that difficult so I was done with it in no time, but I got bored so I took out a novel to read, that didn't interest me as well or maybe I didn't have the vibe to read. I just went downstairs, to the sitting room and met Dad assisting Evie with her school work.
I didn't wanna disturb so I just took a fashion magazine and went through it. In about twenty minutes time Evie was done
"I wanna go see Mr Wilbert " Dad announced
"Which Mr Wilbert? Our neighbor next door? "
"Yep, I'll be back in an hour" with that he left
I could now watch what I've been craving for, cause it was on now, on the Mnet movie channel 'Dangerous romance'
It took me an hour and half to complete the movie, it was a spree of emotions for me. Crying, laughing, cussing, smiling. Dad was already back by now and mum just back now from grocery shopping
"Hey mum! You're back, let me get the bag "
"Why are you all happy and smiley" mum asked
"Is there a reason I shouldn't be?" I returned with a question
"I know there's a reason behind it, that's why I asked? " she persisted
"Ok fine, it's just a movie I just finished watching now, it ended beautifully even after all the trauma"
"So that's what making you smile" she asked smiling too
"You got that right" we both laughed and went over to the sink to wash our hands so we could start preparing dinner
"Spaghetti and meatballs? " I said after bringing out the ingredients
"Yea" Mum replied
It us about thirty minutes to finish preparing everything and setting up the dining
"Dinner's ready" I yelled from dining room and in few minutes everyone was present, let me guess the aroma of the spaghetti drove them here
"So what's for dinner, cause the aroma is already making my mouth water" Dad said, which everyone laugh
I decided to answer
"Spaghetti and meatballs"
"Yum" Dad complimented
Mum blessed the food and passed around everyone's share
While we were eating Parker brought something up
"So dad you wanna tell us why you didn't go to work?"
"Seriously Parker, why did you bring that up here?"
"Yea Dad that's true, I didn't hear why you didn't go to work" I questioned and everyone eyes were now on him
"You all should go back to your food, talking while eating is prohibited" he eyed Parker while talking
"Honey is there a problem" Mum asked concerned
"Of cause there isn't"
"Then why didn't you go?" Evie asked a bit authoritatively, but apologized immediately
"Sorry daddy"
"It's just that I wanted to take a day off, to get to know our neighbors and environment"
"Oh really?, so you can take a day off to 'know more about the environment' but we're not allowed to" I said and made air quotes
"Marisa, you know you guys had to start school so you could meet up with the others, I don't need to say it again"
"Yea yea, I get it" I gave an eyeroll
"But I still think it's being selfish" Parker replied
"I don't wanna talk about this again OK" Dad said sternly
"Yes dad " we all replied and focused in our food that was already getting cold.
