C17 After Finishing the Test

Wu Yufei hummed softly, her smile taking on a deeper, more significant meaning.

Jiang Shuyao had a pretty good idea of what Wu Yufei was planning.

She curled the corner of her lips in a slight smile, pondering the question with focus.

Ten minutes passed.

Zhang Chaohe entered the room, carrying a stack of test papers.

A graduate of a prestigious university, his teaching was beyond reproach, earning him great popularity among the students.

The classroom fell silent.

Adjusting his metal-framed glasses, he noticed the girl at the back of the room, "Today, we welcome a new student to our class, Yem Xi. I expect everyone to get along well with her."

He quickly went over the details, foregoing Yem Xi's self-introduction.

Then, he got down to business, "Here are the test questions from yesterday. The duty student will please distribute the papers."

Wu Yufei rose to her feet and weaved through the classroom, handing out the test papers.

Zhang Chaohe handed a blank test paper to Yem Xi, advising her gently, "Pay close attention later. If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask the one-on-one tutor this afternoon."

Yem Xi nodded in acknowledgment.

"Alright, let's begin discussing these questions. If you got any wrong, make sure to clarify your thought process and understand why you made a mistake," Zhang Chaohe began his explanation from the podium.

His voice was crisp yet resonant, carrying the soothing quality of a gentle breeze and soft rain.

Wu Yufei passed a note to Jiang Shuyao, "Yao, I checked, and your score is the highest in the class!"

Jiang Shuyao smiled subtly and sat up attentively to listen.

Yem Xi reviewed the test paper, looking over each question.

They were all somewhat challenging.

By the end of the class, she had gone through all the questions.

During the break, Zhang Chaohe approached Yem Xi and glanced at her spread-out test paper, noting she hadn't written a single word.

His brow furrowed slightly, "Yem Xi, please come to the office to work on the test questions."

Every new student was required to complete a set of test questions so that the teachers could accurately assess their level.

In a previous life, Yem Xi had missed this opportunity due to an issue with her clothing.

This time, the test questions were a collaborative effort by several teachers, with four to five questions per subject, varying in difficulty, culminating in a writing prompt.

The office was serene, with teachers diligently grading papers or preparing their lessons.

Yem Xi took her seat as Zhang Chaohe had instructed and began to answer the questions with earnest focus.

Her pen scarcely paused, and in under fifty minutes, she completed all eighteen questions, including the essay.

Yem Xi stood and handed her test paper to Zhang Chaohe.

Zhang Chaohe, who was busy preparing for a one-on-one session, looked up in mild astonishment at the neatly written test paper before him.

"Finished already?"

Hadn't the Jiang family mentioned that her grades were just average?

Zhang Chaohe unfolded the test paper and glanced through it. All the questions seemed to be answered.

The handwriting was as crisp as if it had been printed, a delight to the eyes.

There were four math questions, ranging from easy to difficult.

Zhang Chaohe pulled a red pen from the holder and, within minutes, placed a large check mark beside the first question.

Then the second, third, and fourth followed.

Not a single mark was deducted from any of the questions.

The last question, with its multiple sub-questions, covered a wide range of knowledge points. Even Jiang Shuyao hadn't managed to finish it in yesterday's tutoring session.

This kid is impressive!

"Sit tight for a moment. I'll have the other teachers grade it," Zhang Chaohe said, beaming.

Except for Teacher Wang, who was teaching a group class, all the other teachers were available.

Before long, all the teachers had finished marking Yem Xi's paper.

"Ding-a-ling-a-ling—"

The bell signaled the end of the third period.

Zhang Chaohe cheerfully instructed Yem Xi to return to her classroom, "Here's a set of problems for you to work on during this study period."

"I've got a set of physics problems here too..."

"These are chemistry problems..."

"..."

In less than a minute, Yem Xi's hands were filled with five sets of test papers, one for each subject.

Yem Xi's expression turned remarkably animated.

She hadn't enrolled in the tutoring class to be inundated with test papers.
