C9 There Was No Need for the Tutoring Class!

Yem Xi's lips curled into a faint, enigmatic smile.

In her past life, Jiang Shuyao had a habit of intruding into her bedroom, often taking things from her. It started with paintings, then music scores, and eventually competition tutoring materials... When she realized she couldn't control Yem Xi, Jiang Shuyao resorted to vile tactics to ruin her.

This time around, Yem Xi was determined not to let Jiang Shuyao gain any advantage from her.

Together, they descended the stairs.

In the living room, Jiang Yifan, Du Qingtian, and Jiang Yuhao were seated on the couch. Jiang Yuhao sat dutifully by Du Qingtian, his eyes rimmed with red, his gaze towards Yem Xi still brimming with animosity.

Once everyone was seated, Jiang Yifan spoke up, maintaining his usual facade of mildness. "Xi, your mother and I have discussed it, and we'd like to send you to No.1 High School."

Yi City No.1 High School is the city's premier high school, known for its robust faculty and a 98% college acceptance rate.

Yem Xi wasn't taken aback by this.

Having publicly declared her as the long-lost daughter of the Jiang family, Jiang Yifan was bound to make a grand gesture to avoid any ridicule.

He smoothly transitioned, "We're familiar with your academic performance. To get into No.1 High School, you'll need to buckle down in the coming days to ensure a strong performance on the entrance exam on September 1st. Therefore..."

Jiang Shuyao chimed in with a smile, "That's why Dad and Mom think it would be best for you to join me in a prep course. It'll help you get up to speed with the curriculum and secure a top spot in the exam."

Steward Hsu came in with tea, casting a glance at Yem Xi upon hearing this.

Improving her grades within a week was plausible.

But finishing at the top?

That was nearly laughable.

Yem Xi's grades might have been decent in a small place like Riverside Village, but they wouldn't stand out at Yi City No.1 High School.

Unlike the young mistress, whose stellar performance effortlessly placed her in the top five of her class.

Yem Xi?

It seemed an impossible feat in this lifetime.

Jiang Yifan coughed lightly and quickly intervened, "Yao, don't put too much pressure on Xi. Tomorrow, take her with you to the tutoring class."

Jiang Shuyao pouted, "I haven't said anything wrong. Xi's grades have always been excellent; she was the top student in her previous school."

Du Qingtian lowered her gaze.

Could the top student from a small town really compare to the top student at Yi City No.1 High School?

Not wanting to discourage her beloved daughter, she earnestly advised Yem Xi, "Xi, attend the tutoring class tomorrow and pay close attention to the teacher. Yao's grades are outstanding, and you don't want to let her down."

Yem Xi looked up nonchalantly at the family across from her, then lowered her gaze, her long, curled eyelashes concealing her expression.

She spoke in a detached tone, "There's no need for tutoring classes. You don't have to worry about my grades."

The room fell into a puzzled silence.

They had seen Yem Xi's report card.

Her scores were indeed impressive.

But what was the caliber of her previous school, with only a thirty percent university admission rate? Could it really stack up against Yi City No.1 High School?

With her grades, she would be lucky to get into an average class at Yi City No.1 High School.

It was clear that those from small towns could be naively overconfident!

Jiang Yifan remained calm, offering a gentle smile, "Xi, are you still adjusting to the new environment? Don't worry, you'll settle in with time. We can discuss the tutoring class later. For now, just focus on resting."

Du Qingtian was about to respond but was silenced by Jiang Yifan.

Holding back, she turned her attention away from Yem Xi and instead took Jiang Shuyao's hand, instructing her, "Yao, you have a competition coming up. Go get ready. Your time and energy are precious; don't let others hold you back!"

Hsu Lirong chimed in, "Miss will surely take first place with her painting, Madam, you can be at ease."

This brought a smile to Du Qingtian's face, "The competition results aren't out yet, so everything remains uncertain."

Jiang Yuhao tilted his head back with pride and declared, "Sister's painting is sure to take first place. Even the vice president of the Art Association said she has a strong shot at winning."

"Is that true? When did he say that?" Jiang Shuyao couldn't contain her excitement.

She had always known her family had connections with the Art Association, but she hadn't realized they were in touch with the vice president himself.

The vice president's opinion carried significant weight in the Divine Pen Cup competition.

His endorsement meant she was already halfway to success.

With a sense of resignation, Jiang Yifan explained, "It was this morning. Your mother and I didn't want you to lose your edge, so we kept it from you. Your little brother here probably overheard me on the phone."

Jiang Yuhao swung his head around smugly.

The entire family placed great importance on this competition and were resolute in their pursuit of first place.

Jiang Shuyao, energized and polite, addressed Jiang Yifan and Du Qingtian, "Dad, Mom, I'm heading upstairs!"

After Jiang Shuyao departed, the living room's lively mood dissipated.

Jiang Yifan encouraged Yem Xi to take a leaf out of Jiang Shuyao's book before heading out with a beaming smile.

Du Qingtian, too, went upstairs with Jiang Yuhao, not even bothering to conceal her indifference towards Yem Xi.

She was thoroughly overlooked.

The stance of the household was unmistakable; following Steward Hsu's directions, none of the Jiang family's servants paid any mind to Yem Xi, nor did anyone make an effort to engage with her.
