Huo Niannian was fuming, her teeth gritted in sheer frustration. The nerve of these people to spread such baseless gossip. They had not only outed her previous romantic involvement with He Feng but had also unearthed her old best friendship with Cao Nana. To make matters worse, the circulating article falsely claimed that Huo Niannian had callously dumped her long-time beau He Feng for Gu Tingshen. Suddenly, the door clicked open.

"You're back?"

Her face lit up with a smile as she gracefully descended from the couch, setting aside her treats on the coffee table and scurrying over in her slippers. She warmly welcomed Gu Tingshen, relieving him of his briefcase with a tilt of her head. "Dinner's in the dining room, and your bath is ready. What would you prefer first, eating or bathing?"

Gu Tingshen, faced with Huo Niannian's smile brimming with appeasement, felt an ominous hunch.

He let her handle the briefcase and slipped off his shoes, giving her a nonchalant look. "Just say what you want," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.

Huo Niannian paused momentarily but quickly plastered a smile back on her face. "So, Hubby, now that we're married, we share everything, right?"

Hearing her call him Hubby, Gu Tingshen momentarily stiffened, the reaction barely perceptible.

He was already privy to the afternoon's drama. As the President of the Imperial Group, he missed nothing. Ding Xuelan had promptly briefed him on the Cao Nana debacle.

His silence wasn't ignorance; he was curious to see how Huo Niannian would manage the fallout.
