Having just discovered her misdiagnosis, she felt as though she'd been given a second lease on life. Coupled with the recent comeuppance she'd dished out to a pair of scoundrels, her appetite was exceptionally hearty. She wished she could take all the food home with her.

Under the astonished gazes of both Gu Tingshen and the waiter, Huo Niannian consumed a meal intended for three. Compared to the refined gentleman that was Gu Tingshen, her dining manner was quite the sight to behold.

"You look rather slim; I'm surprised you can eat so much," he commented, laying down his silverware and dabbing the corners of his mouth with a napkin.

Huo Niannian caught the teasing in Gu Tingshen's voice but didn't mind. Licking the grease from her lips, she waved a chicken wing and said, "I often went hungry as a kid. I treat every meal like it's my last. A high and mighty Young Master like you wouldn't understand."

Gu Tingshen's face darkened, but Huo Niannian simply smiled and quickly changed the subject. "You've treated me to so much delicious food. Don't worry, at the press conference later, I won't say a word. I promise to be the perfect lady."
