C6 Chapter 6

In the dressing room, everyone was busy preparing for this big event. The selection of the best candidate for each course at Greenbelt University is held annually.

Everyone was all excited about this most awaited event. Some organizers are coming back and forth to make sure that everything was in order for the pageant.

Gradually, students from other levels and courses also arrived, the auditorium was almost full even though it's still an hour before the pageant starts.

All departments prepared banners and a cheering chant to show support for their candidate. Queenie, who was participating in this pageant for the first time, was almost deafened by the loud heartbeat sound of the nervousness in her chest.

Her cheeks were also getting cold and granular sweat was coming out of her forehead. She also felt like she was digging into her stomach as if she was nauseous.

"Queenie, are you ready?"

Queenie nodded softly to her trainer.

"Why do you look so bad? You look pale?" worriedly asked her.

"It's nothing, maybe it's just because l'm so nervous right now. You know it's my first time participating in a beauty contest Queenie assumed that all she felt was because of the extreme nervousness and tension she was feeling at the moment.

Ralph was also busy monitoring if everything needed was completed.

"Alfred, is everything okay?"

"Yes, don't worry, we're all set"

Alfred said happily.

"Wait, why do you look nervous?"

"Of course, this pageant must be successful because this is the last pageant I will organize. Remember, this is my last year in college and I will finally graduate this school year."

He also couldn't help but feel nervous out of concern over the possible consequences of this pageant and most of all he was nervous or excited to see Queenie ramping up the top of the stage.

"By the way, Ralph, did you see the Business Administration candidate?"

"Why? "The best bro, so beautiful and sexy"'

he winked and was obviously excited to see the candidate walk on stage. Unexpectedly, Ralph suddenly felt annoyed at the thought of other men fantasizing about Queenie's beauty and sexiness.

Ralph couldn't stop himself from peeking at Queenie in her dressing room. When he saw that she was ready and just waiting for the pageant to start, he walked to the side of the stage wherein he could easily see the candidates who would stand at the top of the stage.

The audience roared in excitement when the emcee for the event officially called one by one all the candidates.

Evening gown competition is the most awaited part of all beauty pageants. And now, everyone was extremely happy with the beautiful candidates who are standing on stage.

Loud screams and applause echoed as Queenie walked on stage, wearing her black velvet long gown that tightened and showed off the beautiful shape of her body.

Especially that Ralph asked the famous and well-known fashion designer to make this gown but he kept it a secret from Queenie.

All of the clothes and accessories Queenie wore that night came from Ralph. That was why her beauty floats not only because of her natural beauty but also because of the elegant and expensive gown and accessories she used.

Meanwhile, Queenie's every smile was strained because she was already feeling so bad. With each step she seemed to weaken her knee at the same time was the tingling she felt as if her surroundings were spinning.

However, despite Queenie's desire to continue her walking her vision completely darkened and she collapsed in the middle of the stage. At the same time, the audience shouted because of the suddenness. Ralph wasted no time and quickly ran towards Queenie.

"Call an ambulance!" said the people present. But he did not wait for the ambulance to arrive, he quickly lifted Queenie with both arms and ran to his car.

He carefully laid Queenie in the backseat of his car and after making sure that Queenie was in good condition, he quickly drove to the nearest hospital. Shortly after Queenie and Ralph arrived at the hospital Mia rushed in.

She was also there and watching the beauty contest to support Queenie, so she saw Queenie faint and Ralph took her to the hospital.

"How is she?"

Mia immediately asked Ralph.

"She's still unconscious, but the doctor has already examined her"

"For a few days now, I've noticed that Queenie is feeling bad, probably because she's tired and doesn't have enough rest" Ralph looked at Mia, he suddenly felt remorse for what had happened to Queenie.

Because of him, that's why Queenie was forced to participate in the beauty contest.

Eventually, Ralph's cellphone rang. "Excuse me, I need to answer this."

Alfred: "Ralph, we need you here. The pageant is about to end and you need to come back here before the coronation" Ralph:"Okay, Ill be right back."

Ralph walked quickly out of the emergency room, he had to hurry to reach the coronation.

When Queenie open her eyes, the white ceiling vwas the only thing she could see, she knew it wasnt the ceiling in their boarding house. She turned arOund, surely, she was in the emergency room at a hospital.

She suddenly remembered what had happened and why she was there. At the end of the bed, she saw Mia and the doctor talking.

She called Mia and at the same time, Mia and the doctor turned to her. "How are you feeling?"

the doctor asked Queenie. "I'm still a little dizzy; Queenie replied politely "Dont worry, it's normal for pregnant women to get nausea.
