C7 Confusion

Shu Ann stepped out of the house and immediately spotted Mooh Yang waiting for her not far from the old residence. She approached him with a sense of unease, as she was keeping something from him and couldn't let him find out.

Shu Ann knew deep down that she couldn't hide this from Mooh Yang for long. They knew each other too well. After so many years together, they had developed an unspoken understanding. Even the slightest furrow of her brow would alert Mooh Yang that something was up, and he could usually figure out most of it, especially after what happened yesterday.

But Shu Ann never considered telling Mooh Yang about it voluntarily. She wasn't fond of confessing, especially when it involved something less than honorable. If Mooh Yang truly wanted to know, he would ask. Since he was bound to ask eventually, why should she admit it herself? Besides, if he didn't ask, it meant he didn't really want to know. So why should she bring it up and create trouble for herself?

With all this in mind, Shu Ann decided to wait for Mooh Yang to ask her directly. She would never deceive him. If he asked, she would tell him everything honestly, even if she knew it might upset him.

Shu Ann was always grateful to Mooh Yang. As the leader of their hacker group, he had more knowledge and insight than she did. He also had better teamwork and leadership skills than the other members. Whatever the situation, he always knew the best way to handle it.

As a member of the group, Shu Ann had always been treated well by Mooh Yang, who was older and had consistently offered her great support, both in life and work. Mooh Yang had always been there for her, and she naturally saw him as an older brother, a good friend, and a reliable partner. Shu Ann trusted him completely and had never kept anything from him—until now. This was the first time.

So, when Shu Ann saw Mooh Yang waiting for her not too far away, she felt a bit uneasy. This was the first time she had kept something from him. She was worried he might question her, get upset, and she didn’t know how to handle the situation. Apologizing was the last thing she wanted to do, especially if it wouldn’t be accepted. She was also concerned about losing such a close friend, someone she had grown accustomed to having around. How could she bear to let him go?

Looking at Mooh Yang standing there, Shu Ann felt a pang of guilt because she knew she had messed up. She hadn’t thought things through, and she had a feeling she might have hurt him this time. The way he stood so still suggested he hadn’t moved in a while, as if he was waiting for her to make the first move.

“What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?...” Shu Ann’s mind was racing. Facing Mooh Yang now seemed incredibly daunting. She didn’t even know what her first words should be, and she was so nervous that she couldn’t move or speak.

This reaction from Shu Ann was not exaggerated at all. Having known Mooh Yang for a long time, she was well aware of his temperament and personality. He hated being lied to, and she had seen what happened to those who deceived him. Once someone lied to Mooh Yang, he would cut them off completely, starting by deleting all their contact information. So, when he didn’t answer her call, Shu Ann started to worry.

Now, here he was, standing right in front of her. Even though he seemed to be kind towards her, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of fear.

However, right now, it was indeed Shu Ann who had made the mistake. How could she possibly stand in front of Mooh Yang without showing any sign of guilt? She wasn't heartless; she knew she had done something wrong and was genuinely afraid.

At this moment, Shu Ann desperately wished someone could step in and help her, to take the brunt of Mooh Yang's potential silent treatment on her behalf. She was truly scared. The silent treatment, while not physically painful, was more hurtful than harsh words or a heavy blow.

Shu Ann dreaded facing Mooh Yang and was terrified of the moment he would confront her. If only time could freeze right now, how wonderful would that be? If neither of them initiated a conversation, pretending nothing happened would be ideal.

But how could they remain in this stalemate forever? There had to be a way to resolve this; they couldn't just stand there indefinitely. Letting it drag on wouldn't solve anything. The situation had occurred, and it needed to be addressed and resolved, so she might as well take the initiative.

With this thought, Shu Ann finally moved her long-stationary legs and walked toward the person waiting for her. Each step was filled with anxiety. For the first time, she realized how far the distance between two people could feel, how intimidating it could be. Making a mistake came with a hefty price, and the first hurdle was overcoming her psychological barriers to apologize.

Before she knew it, Shu Ann found herself standing in front of Mooh Yang, feeling lost and unsure of how to begin. Her mind went blank, as if she had no thoughts at all, everything seemed to stand still.

"You came..."

It was Mooh Yang who spoke first.

Hearing him speak snapped Shu Ann out of her daze. She felt a surge of gratitude; thankfully, Mooh Yang broke the silence first, or else she didn't know how much longer she would have stood there awkwardly.

Mooh Yang speaking up wasn't just by chance; he had noticed Shu Ann approaching him for a while. He had waited patiently, but Shu Ann hadn't initiated a conversation, leaving him with no choice but to break the ice himself to avoid an awkward silence.

Someone had to start the conversation between them, and it didn't seem right to expect a lady to make the first move. So, he decided to step up and speak first. He couldn't bear to see Shu Ann looking so uncomfortable.

Mooh Yang had always quietly looked out for Shu Ann. Even now, he couldn't stand to see her frown or seem the least bit unhappy. He was more than willing to do whatever it took to make her feel at ease.
