C8 Love the Ceo?

Mooh Yang had a unique trait: he always managed to ease Shu Ann's awkwardness without letting her notice his efforts. He quietly supported her, careful not to reveal how much he cared. He might be what people call a "nice guy," someone who genuinely cares for those he cherishes, rather than just paying lip service.

Compared to those who only talk, Mooh Yang's actions were sincere and touching. Since Mooh Yang had already broken the ice, what was Shu Ann waiting for? She should confidently respond to him. There was no need to hesitate when Mooh Yang had already given her an easy way out.

"Um... I'm here..." Shu Ann's heart was still filled with apprehension. She cautiously answered Mooh Yang's previous question.

"Good to see you. I noticed you standing over there for quite a while and thought you might not come over," Mooh Yang teased Shu Ann.

"How could I not? I saw you here, and there's no way I wouldn't come over to say hi," Shu Ann replied, acting as if nothing was amiss. She hoped that by going along with Mooh Yang's conversation, he might delay asking her the awkward question she dreaded.

But her hopes were dashed quickly; Mooh Yang couldn't hold back for long.

"So... did you come over to tell me something?" Mooh Yang asked directly, hoping Shu Ann would clearly explain the task at hand.

Mooh Yang's straightforwardness was clear to Shu Ann, but she didn't want to answer just like that. She wanted Mooh Yang to ask directly, and only then would she give him the answer he sought.

"Mooh Yang, stop beating around the bush. I know what you want to ask. Just ask directly, and I'll definitely give you the answer."

"Alright, let me ask you, what was the deal with yesterday's task?"

Now, Mooh Yang had finally asked the question, and Shu Ann, who had promised to answer truthfully, was ready to respond.

"Okay, I'll tell you," Shu Ann began.

"I admit, I kept it from you, and I'm sorry. But it wasn't intentional," Shu Ann apologized right away for her actions.

"The opponent I was up against yesterday was my brother. He's always been trying to test my limits and never really supported the path I've taken, let alone this particular task."

"Now you understand why it was so hard for me to overcome him, right? Because my opponent was my brother! I only found out last night. I wasn't trying to hide it from you on purpose. If you hadn't asked, I wouldn't have mentioned it to avoid making you overthink."

Shu Ann finally laid everything out, and with that, she felt a huge sense of relief.

Even though she had explained everything, Mooh Yang was still a bit upset, feeling a twinge of anger.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? If I hadn't asked, would you have kept it to yourself?"

Looking at Shu Ann standing before him, Mooh Yang couldn't shake the feeling that she had changed. The Shu Ann he knew never kept secrets from him, but now, she was no longer as open. Mooh Yang suddenly felt like he didn't recognize the young woman he had helped shape.

Who wouldn't feel hurt in this situation? The girl he had nurtured was now keeping things from him. Thankfully, he sensed something was off and asked the right questions; otherwise, who knows how long Shu Ann would have kept him in the dark. Thinking about it now, Mooh Yang felt an inexplicable heartache.

A perfectly lively young woman had changed since taking on this task. She wasn't as vibrant or as open as before. Mooh Yang couldn't figure out what had transformed Shu Ann into who she was now, but it was clear that the overbearing CEO, Jingyan, had something to do with it!

Every time Mooh Yang thought of Lih Jingyan, he couldn't help but grit his teeth in frustration. That overbearing CEO was truly overbearing. Shu Ann hadn't been working for him long, and already he seemed ready to show his true colors as a creep. Just picturing Jingyan's smug face made Mooh Yang feel sick. He was convinced that if Shu Ann continued working for him, she'd end up regretting it.

Mooh Yang was the kind of person who wore his emotions on his sleeve, and right now, his face was a clear billboard of displeasure. Shu Ann wasn't oblivious; she could see his frustration but didn't know how to respond. She was at a loss for words, especially with Mooh Yang being so worked up, so she decided it was best to stay silent rather than risk saying something wrong.

However, the more Shu Ann ignored him, the more suspicious Mooh Yang became. It wasn't like her to act this way, and his mind was racing with possibilities.

"Shu Ann, what's going on with you? When did we start drifting apart like this? What's really happening?"

The more distant Shu Ann seemed, the more anxious Mooh Yang felt. Anything related to Shu Ann always threw him off balance, and now with Lih Jingyan in the picture, his temper was even more unpredictable.

"Mooh Yang, I don't know how to answer your questions. I don't even know if your anger is justified."

Shu Ann didn't feel like her attitude towards Mooh Yang was as distant as he claimed, and she couldn't understand the basis of his accusations.

"I never intended to push you away. The reason I didn't tell you about my brother was that I didn't want you to worry. It wasn't about trying to distance myself from you. We've been friends for so many years; I could never do that to you. I really don't know how to respond to your concerns, so maybe it's better if we just don't talk about it."

Shu Ann's words were genuine; she truly felt this way. Over time, it was Mooh Yang who had helped elevate her to her current position. She was someone who believed in gratitude and reciprocity, so it was impossible for her to ignore him just because her situation had improved a bit.

Seeing Mooh Yang act so irrationally and speak to her like that made Shu Ann uncomfortable. Why did he get to pin accusations on her whenever he was upset? It just wasn't fair. Mooh Yang had never behaved this way before, and she couldn't understand why he was targeting her now.

Both of them had their own struggles, and they were both stubborn. They'd been together for so long that any disagreement seemed magnified and hard to comprehend, making it appear more serious than it was.

"Shu Ann, don't blame me for overthinking. I really don't understand why you didn't tell me anything this time. If I hadn't noticed something was off, how long would you have kept it from me? We weren't like this before, and I really don't want to see our friendship fall apart. I believe you don't want that either."

Mooh Yang's heartache was Shu Ann. He was angry, but he feared that today's incident would create a rift between them, and she would stop caring about him. He wasn't afraid of much, but the thought of someone he cared about not reciprocating was unbearable, the last thing he wanted to see.

"Mooh Yang, I know you're looking out for me. I never imagined such a big conflict would arise between us. It's really just a small issue, nothing major. I was upset and confused by your actions, but trust me, I'll never reach a point where I ignore you. Believe me."

Hearing Shu Ann say this, Mooh Yang felt relieved. At least Shu Ann would continue to treat him well, and they would remain lifelong friends.

Suddenly, Shu Ann's phone rang. She pulled it out of her pocket and saw it was Lih Jingyan. Without hesitation, she answered the CEO's call; after all, she was his assistant.

"Where are you? Who are you with?" The CEO was always straightforward, never beating around the bush. He didn't need to use a gentle tone with anyone, and over time, this had become his habit. Naturally, no one dared to question him.

"Sir, I'm near the old house with my supervisor, Mooh Yang. Is there a problem?" Shu Ann found it odd that the domineering CEO was asking about her whereabouts at this moment. She decided it was best to be honest; otherwise, if he tried to play any tricks on her, she wouldn't be able to handle it.

"Alright, I got it. Just don't spend too much time with him. Come back soon and continue your work. Remember, you're my secretary, here to serve me, not him!" With that, Lih Jingyan hung up.

Hearing that Shu Ann was with Mooh Yang made Lih Jingyan a bit unhappy, so he didn't want to say much more. The more he spoke, the angrier he might become, so it was better to end the call quickly and avoid the frustration.

Meanwhile, Mooh Yang had overheard the call and realized it was Lih Jingyan on the other end, which didn't sit well with him either. Anything related to Lih Jingyan made Mooh Yang particularly sensitive and unhappy.

Both men clearly cared about Shu Ann, yet their actions only seemed to hurt her. They didn't understand how to let go, and this only pushed Shu Ann too hard.

"Mooh Yang, I can't talk right now. I have to go. Let's catch up another time."

Since the boss's words couldn't be delayed, Shu Ann had to quickly say goodbye to Mooh Yang, promising they'd meet again. However, her actions were bound to upset Mooh Yang, who felt abandoned once more.

"You're leaving already? Let me guess, who was that call from? Must be someone important if a single word from them can make you leave right away. Quite impressive! Should I learn a thing or two from them? Shu Ann, can you stop being so selfish? Can you be a bit more fair?"
