C41 Blood Marrow

Once the shopkeeper showed willingness, Chu Yan was genuinely interested in selling his inscription patterns, making the price much more flexible.

He effortlessly acquired a thousand Spirit Money, and his tendency to squeeze every last benefit was on full display once again.

Exiting the previous shop, he had finagled a packet of spirit tea valued at 30 Spirit Money. Now, at the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce, he leveraged the prospect of future collaboration to secure three packets of spirit tea worth 150 Spirit Money, along with five sheets of Inscription Paper from the shopkeeper.

Before long, the initial cost of one thousand Spirit Money had inflated to twelve hundred, leaving the shopkeeper's complexion tinged with a hint of green.

Chu Yan knew when to stop while he was ahead, considering there would be opportunities for future partnerships.

As Chu Yan prepared to depart, the shopkeeper quickly beckoned the maid in pink to escort him out.

In the shopkeeper's view, Chu Yan had become akin to a minor plague god, not to be crossed.

Just a few steps out, Chu Yan paused at a stall displaying several transparent little bottles.

These tiny bottles, no larger than an adult's middle finger, were filled with a vivid red liquid.

At the sight of this liquid, Chu Yan felt a resonance within his blood energy, causing it to stir unexpectedly.

"What a potent blood qi!" Chu Yan marveled inwardly, though outwardly he remained cool and inquired casually, "What's this?"

The pink-dressed maid accompanying him replied with a smile, "Sir, that's blood marrow, drawn from the essence of a desolate beast's blood, then refined with herbs. It's immensely beneficial for warriors to enhance their vitality and strengthen their physique."

"Really? The essence of a desolate beast? How significant is the benefit?" Chu Yan raised his eyebrows slightly, his voice low.

His blood energy was already far superior to his peers, making him exceptionally attuned to such sensations.

He could sense that the blood energy within that slender vial of blood marrow surpassed any wild beast's blood he had consumed before.

"I'm not quite sure myself," the maidservant said with a smile. "However, I can inform the young master that the small bottle of blood essence is valued at two thousand Spirit Money."

"Two thousand!" Chu Yan's heart leapt.

He had sold a pair of triplex blades and three Heavy Equipment Inscription Patterns today, earning a total of only twelve hundred Spirit Money.

And yet, that tiny bottle of blood marrow was priced at a full two thousand Spirit Money.

Despite his surprise, Chu Yan could feel excitement igniting within him.

Two thousand Spirit Money was no small sum, but the benefits of the blood essence were undeniable. It promised to be far more effective than consuming the flesh of wild beasts, or even that of dire beasts!

The maid in the pink dress seemed to catch onto Chu Yan's thoughts and, with a giggle behind her hand, said, "Young Noble may not be aware, but our Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce offers spirit pulp as well. This can aid the Young Noble in perceiving the spirit energy of the heavens and earth in the future. When the time comes for the Young Noble to ascend from martial artist to cultivator, the spirit pulp will surely exceed your expectations."

"How much does the spirit pulp cost?" Chu Yan inquired with curiosity.

The maid in pink gestured, "Eight thousand Spirit Money per bottle."

"That's quite pricey," Chu Yan remarked.

If the spirit pulp could enhance one's internal spirit energy, then perhaps eight thousand per bottle might be justified. However, its primary function was to assist in the comprehension of spirit energy during the transition from warrior to cultivator.

Considering that, the price seemed steep.

Yet, it also underscored the immense challenge of progressing from the Genuine Force Stage to the Pulse Condensation Stage for a cultivator.

While Chu Yan was weighing the cost against the benefits, the maid misunderstood his contemplation. She blinked her large, dewy eyes and said with a playful smile, "The young master jests. With your talent for inscribing patterns, will you ever truly be in want of Blood Marrow or spirit pulp?"

"We shall see in the future," Chu Yan responded, gesturing dismissively. After one last glance at the Blood Marrow, he strode towards the entrance.

"I shall eagerly await the young master's good news," the pink-dressed young woman said cheerfully, escorting Chu Yan to the door and waving farewell.

As Chu Yan departed, the shopkeeper was about to store away the newly acquired Inscription Patterns when he noticed a man and a woman emerging from the inner hall of the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce.

The man appeared to be in his forties, with a slightly dark complexion and sharply defined cheeks, as if sculpted by a blade. Dressed in a green robe, one could immediately discern his meticulous nature and serious demeanor.

The woman, in contrast, was a young girl who looked to be about fifteen or sixteen. She was clad in a white dress, her face adorned with a faint smile. Her beauty was striking, and she exuded a warmth and gentleness that made onlookers feel as if they were basking in a refreshing spring breeze.

Despite the man's senior appearance, their postures and expressions suggested that the girl held a higher status.

As they approached the stall, the shopkeeper's face muscles twitched in nervousness. Caught off guard, he didn't manage to put away the inscription patterns and quickly stepped forward, bowing respectfully. "I, Zhao Shude, am honored to greet Master Li and Miss Su," he said, his voice quivering noticeably.

This was an involuntary reaction, as the approaching pair included Master Li, the renowned Inscription Master Li He of the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce in Changqing Town. Being an Inscription Master meant that Li He was not a mere martial artist, but a cultivator at the Pulse Condensation Stage!

Within the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce, Li He's status was on par with the head manager, and they would often consult each other on significant decisions.

Although Zhao Shude was not privy to Miss Su's exact identity, he vividly remembered that the young lady, Su Yuqing, had arrived yesterday in a luxurious carriage drawn by six Scarlet Crystal Horned Horses. Upon her arrival, she was personally received by both the head storekeeper and Li He.

This clearly indicated that despite her youth, Su Yuqing's status surpassed that of the head manager and even Li He!

Understandably, the shopkeeper was fraught with anxiety as they approached. It was akin to a rabbit in the presence of a lion or tiger, instinctively overwhelmed by fear.

"Mm," Li He acknowledged the shopkeeper with a brief glance and a nod, then turned to Su Yuqing. "Miss, this is our stall where we offer our inscription patterns for sale."

As he spoke, Li He's attention was drawn to the table, where he noticed three Heavy Equipment Inscription Patterns that Zhao Shude had not yet had the chance to put away.

"Hmm? Shopkeeper Zhao, did we have any inscription sales today?" Li He inquired.

"Yes, Master Li," Zhao Shude promptly replied, thoroughly recounting the events of Chu Yan selling the inscription patterns earlier that day. He also included the details of Chu Yan's purchase of the Inscription Pen and inscription paper the day before.

"So, you're telling me that a teenager, merely sixteen or seventeen years old, bought an Inscription Pen and inscription paper just yesterday and has already crafted an inscription pattern to sell today?" Li He's brow furrowed, his voice taking on a stern edge.
