C50 I Found Him!

At this moment, with a few exceptions, the majority gathered in the council hall were the high-ranking members of the Lin Clan. They all knew too well the steep price the Lin Clan had to pay each time they approached the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce to acquire inscriptions.

For lower-grade inscriptions, it was a simple matter of purchasing the finished patterns etched onto inscription paper. However, when it came to engraving inscriptions onto weapons, the costs soared—not only for the inscription materials but also for the engraving itself, which was often significantly more expensive.

But now, Chu Yan had astonishingly volunteered to provide the Lin Family with four inscriptions, keeping only one for himself. It was practically a giveaway, considering the substantial effort involved in crafting inscriptions.

Once Lin Chongtian issued the command, the necessary inscription materials were swiftly delivered to Chu Yan. The council hall was then sealed off completely, with Lin Clan members stationed outside, ensuring that not even a mosquito could sneak in.

The Lin clanspeople craned their necks, their eyes fixed on Chu Yan at the center of the room. Lin Chongtian had initially intended to clear the hall, but Chu Yan seemed indifferent to the audience, so Lin Chongtian relented.

The moment Chu Yan produced an Inscription Pen from within his robes, any lingering skepticism among the Lin clanspeople evaporated. Would someone unskilled in the art of inscriptions carry such an expensive tool?

Chu Yan, having inscribed Heavy Equipment Inscription Patterns numerous times before, was now adept at the task. He ground the materials, mixed them with the inscription fluid, and with pen in hand, he inscribed with fluid grace and precision. His movements were as masterful as those of a seasoned Inscription Master, leaving the onlookers from the Lin Clan in awe.

Among them, only Lin Chongtian and a handful of elders had ever witnessed the inscription process. Now, they watched Chu Yan's rhythmic and almost mystical movements, some so overwhelmed with excitement that their eyes shimmered with tears.

Lin Chongzhi and a handful of others contorted their faces in dismay, their expressions so grim they seemed about to drip with darkness.

In just a short time, the five Heavy Equipment Inscription Patterns were flawlessly completed—a success on the first try.

Where there had once been blank sheets of inscription paper, now lay mysterious patterns glowing with a subtle light.

The Lin family members in attendance were profoundly shaken once again.

They all understood that even for an Inscription master, the process was fraught with the possibility of failure.

Typically, the Lin family would prepare extra materials for inscriptions, and this occasion was no exception. Chu Yan had planned to inscribe four, but Lin Chongtian had prudently prepared ten sets of materials.

Yet now, Chu Yan hadn't failed even once.

His skill was enough to leave everyone in awe.

A hush fell over the entire council hall.

All eyes were riveted on Chu Yan, their gazes filled with a mix of emotions.

Those who had once scorned Chu Yan, viewing him as nothing more than a son-in-law who had married into the family, now wished they could emblazon the Lin name across his forehead in admiration.

Lin Liqiang's father, meanwhile, turned ashen-faced. His knees buckled, and with a thud, he knelt on the ground, shaking uncontrollably.

Who would dare to question Chu Yan's words now?

Chu Yan, satisfied, picked up the five inscriptions and turned to Lin Chongtian. "Uncle, could you send someone to the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce to have these appraised by the Inscription Disciples?"

"Of course!" Lin Chongtian responded at once, his body quivering with excitement.

It had been a long time since Lin Chongtian had felt such a surge of emotion—the last being when Lin Miaoran was identified as having a pure jade constitution and was taken in by the Profound Moon Sect.

Although Lin Chongtian knew there was no longer any reason to doubt Chu Yan, certain formalities still had to be observed.

He gestured to his confidants, handed over one of Chu Yan's inscriptions, and after imparting some careful instructions, sent them on their way.

When Lin Chongtian looked up at Chu Yan once more, his demeanor shifted yet again. He quickly had a chair brought over and invited Chu Yan to take a seat, indicating they should wait for news from the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce.

In the council hall, only the Patriarch, Deputy Chief, and a few elders were entitled to sit. Others, even the elders with white hair, had to stand.

Lin Chongtian was so infuriated with Lin Liqiang and his son that he ordered them to be locked away in the family's water prison, their punishment to be severe. This foolish duo had nearly turned the Lin Family against an Inscription apprentice, a young talent with the potential to become a master in the art.

Meanwhile, Zhao Shude, the shopkeeper in charge of the Inscription counter at the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce, was pondering the day's events. The three Heavy Equipment Inscription Patterns he had reclaimed had been formally requested by Li He, which was unusual but Zhao Shude complied, following special instructions from Su Yuqing.

Zhao Shude was left wondering about the young man's identity and when he might locate him. With the day nearly over and no news, he questioned whether he would have to wait for the individual to come forward again.

As Zhao Shude wrestled with these thoughts, a member of the Lin Clan entered, seeking his expertise to evaluate an inscription pattern. The Lin Family was a significant patron of the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce, and their esteemed elder, Lin Xiao, had met with Li He. Zhao Shude knew better than to treat the matter lightly.

Upon examining the inscription pattern handed to him, Zhao Shude's expression turned grave.

"Shopkeeper Zhao, is there an issue with this inscription pattern?" asked the Lin Clan member, anxiety tightening their chest.

"No, no, just wait a moment, please!" Zhao Shude stammered, his panic evident as he dashed toward the inner chamber. "I need to consult with Master Li He!"

The Lin Clan member watched Zhao Shude's retreating figure with a slight frown. "Master Li He?" they murmured, puzzled.

In a split second, he realized what was happening. His eyes shot open, and his breath caught in his throat.

Within the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce, there was only one Master Li He, the legendary inscription master himself.

He was a figure who commanded respect even from Lin Chongtian, the head of the Lin family.

And now, the inscription pattern crafted by Chu Yan had managed to catch the attention of Master Li He.

"This... This has to be a joke... Can it really be that serious?" Members of the Lin family found themselves at a loss, their minds overwhelmed.

Zhao Shude hurried along, winding through corridors until he reached the door of the most opulent room in the inner hall. Catching his breath, he cautiously knocked.

"Enter," came the voice of Li He from within.

Zhao Shude opened the door to find Li He and Su Yuqing inside, both engrossed in examining a painting on the wall, deep in discussion.

Li He's train of thought was disrupted, visibly displeased, yet he inquired, "Shopkeeper Zhao, what brings you here?"

"Master Li, Master Li He, Miss Su, the Heavy Equipment Inscription Pattern has been delivered once more!" Zhao Shude blurted out.

"What!" Su Yuqing exclaimed, the first to react. She gathered her skirt and made for the door, "Where is he? I must meet him!"
