C99 Stop Talking Nonsense I'm in a Hurry

As Su Yuqing followed the direction of Chu Yan's gesture, she noticed Fang Wuxing receiving a hefty bag of Spirit Money from someone else. He was currently flaunting the Spirit Money to the surrounding crowd. The bag contained no less than four to five thousand pieces.

Watching Chu Yan eye the Spirit Money, Su Yuqing mused, "Could my Junior Brother be a bit of a money-grubber? If that's the case, maybe that's an angle I can work with."

"Senior Sister, if I compete here, do winners get rewarded?" Chu Yan's question snapped Su Yuqing out of her thoughts.

Returning to the moment, Su Yuqing nodded affirmatively, "Yes, the more victories you have, the greater the rewards."

She then briefly outlined the Genuine Fighting Arena's rules to Chu Yan. The concept was straightforward: participants received an appearance fee, and victors earned additional rewards. The more impressive your record and win rate, the higher your appearance fee, and the more consecutive wins you racked up, the greater the prize money.

"You've been in seclusion for your training, so you might not be aware that Fang Wuxing is relatively new to the Genuine Fighting Arena. Today marks only his sixth day, yet he's already fought and won eight matches without a single defeat. His opponents have all been swiftly knocked out by him, earning him the moniker 'Fang One-Punch,'" Su Yuqing elaborated as they watched Fang Wuxing descend from the platform.

"Senior Sister, the Zhen Wu Arena must be well-known in Evergreen Town, right?" Chu Yan inquired out of the blue.

A look of pride spread across Su Yuqing's face as she responded, "Absolutely. It's not just Evergreen Town; any business owned by the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce within the Yunao Kingdom is renowned. The Zhen Wu Arena, with its thrilling matches, draws even more attention than the casinos and brothels, making it exceptionally popular."

"Got it," Chu Yan nodded, understanding the situation. "Fang Wuxing's strategy not only hones his martial skills through real combat but also rapidly builds his fame. Eventually, he'll stand out among the disciples of the Profound Moon Sect."

Considering this, Chu Yan spoke up, "Senior Sister, if the True Martial Arena is open to everyone, then surely I can join in too, right? As a martial artist, I meet the criteria."

"You're entering the competition?" Su Yuqing looked at Chu Yan, her surprise evident.

Chu Yan's unexpected request left Su Yuqing momentarily speechless, her lips parted in an alluring expression that caught him off guard.

"Yes," Chu Yan confirmed with a smile. "You just mentioned the substantial amount of Spirit Money we could win. And after the temptation you presented me with, Senior Sister, I need some time to mull it over, don't I?"

Su Yuqing pondered for a moment before grasping Chu Yan's point. If she were to give him a significant sum of Spirit Money, he'd be in her debt. Later, if he wanted to decline her proposals, the favor owed would make it difficult to refuse outright. By competing in the arena, he could earn Spirit Money through his own prowess, hone his martial skills through real combat, and, as he said, take the time he needed to think things through.

"Of course, you can," Su Yuqing replied, having thought it through. She wouldn't refuse Chu Yan's request, but she still cautioned him, "Remember, in the True Martial Arena, competitors must sign a Life and Death Contract. You bear all the risks, so if you're in danger, jump off the stage and concede. Don't overdo it."

"I understand," Chu Yan nodded, his tone light. "Since the True Martial Arena is run by the Wan Hai Chamber of Commerce, could I possibly get an early spot in the lineup?"

Su Yuqing couldn't help but feel a mix of annoyance and amusement, giving Chu Yan a playful eye roll. "Of course, you can."

The usually tender Su Yuqing rarely showed such a teasing demeanor, leaving Chu Yan momentarily captivated.

Realizing her effect, Su Yuqing quickly regained her composure, took a deep breath, and sternly reminded him, "Just remember what I said—stay safe, got it?"

"Got it," Chu Yan replied with a grin, opening the door and stepping out.

As he moved to leave, an impulse struck him, and he turned back to Su Yuqing, "You know, Senior Sister, when you're not in teacher mode, you're truly enchanting."

Without waiting for Su Yuqing to react, he shut the door behind him and strode toward the arena below.

A faint smile played on Chu Yan's lips.

His unexpected senior sister was not only beautiful and gentle, but she also had a penchant for teaching, which made their occasional banter all the more amusing.

Back in the room, Su Yuqing snapped out of her daze, her cheeks flushing with warmth.

"You..."

She racked her brain but couldn't find the right words. With a resigned chuckle, she walked over to the window and gazed down at the stage.

It was Chu Yan's turn to fight next, thanks to Su Yuqing's influence. The competition had just ended on the stage below.

The Genuine Fighting Arena's rules dictated that only contenders with similar win rates were matched together.

This was Chu Yan's debut at the arena, so he had no established win rate. His opponent was a martial artist who had only one prior match to his name.

But this warrior was far more imposing than Chu Yan.

In his thirties, he was the epitome of brawn, with skin like iron, muscles like steel, and hair standing on end like spikes, his face framed by a thick beard that only added to his menacing presence.

As the two stepped into the arena, the crowd exchanged glances and shook their heads. The disparity in their builds made the likely victor obvious.

Chu Yan, though taller than most his age, seemed as slight as a sheet of paper next to the muscular giant.

On a stage where combat prowess was king, the warrior's fierce appearance certainly looked more convincing.

"I can knock you out with one punch," the burly man declared as they faced off, eyeing Chu Yan. "Just so you know, I may only be at the third stage of Genuine Force, but my strength rivals that of someone halfway to the fourth."

"Enough talk, I'm pressed for time. Beating you is worth just ten Spirit Money," Chu Yan retorted with a sidelong glance.

Despite Su Yuqing's connections allowing for an earlier match, the prize for victory remained unchangeable.

Chu Yan, lacking any notable battle achievements or fame, commanded an appearance fee of just five Spirit Money. Similarly, the victory prize was a paltry sum of five Spirit Money.

Yet, should his winning streak surge—mirroring the likes of Fang Wuxing, who boasted seven or eight consecutive wins without defeat—Chu Yan could stand to earn thousands of Spirit Money for a single triumph.

With other obligations on his agenda today, Chu Yan was in no mood to dawdle in this match.

More to the point, Chu Yan couldn't help but think: Why should this towering figure, as dark as charcoal, presume that he could knock him out with just one punch?
