C14 They're all gonna pay!

Uriel came downstairs after a while. He searched for Paige with his eyes. When he couldn't see her, he got worried. He tried calling her. Her phone was laying on the couch, but she wasn't there. He started asking around for her.

"Hey, have you seen Paige? She was wearing a white dress". He was starting to lose his mind. Nobody said anything to him. They all kept looking at him silently. He saw Pascale sitting in the corner. He remembered that he saw Paige talk to him a few times at school. He went close to him. "Pascale, have you seen Paige? She was here just a moment ago". Pascale seemed drunk. "I'm certain the girls from our class made a plan against her, but I'm not sure if I injured my cornea when I bumped into the wall earlier, but I think I saw Camilla stab her with something". Pascale said in a drunken voice.

Uriel became horrified. "A-Are you sure? I can't live if anything happens to Paige". He shook Pascale violently. "Like I said, I'm not sure". Pascale fell asleep instantly. Uriel hit his fist against the couch angrily. He decided to end the party immediately, to search for Paige. He walked towards the kitchen angrily.

Just then, he stepped on something sticky. He lifted his foot to see that it was blood. He found a few more drops, and followed it to the bottom of the staircase. There he found Paige on the floor, covered in her own blood. He froze for a minute. He quickly took her wrist to feel her pulse. She was still alive, although her pulse was weak. He ran to his room and got a towel to apply pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding.

He went to the center of the hall, and made an announcement. "Party's over everyone. Please leave immediately. You all just get out!". They became scared and started leaving the house immediately. Those who were too drunk, had to be carried out by their friends.

Uriel immediately called the ambulance. He hugged Paige and cried hard. His body shook violently, as he cried. "Can't I just be happy for once? Why can't the people I love stay with me?". The bleeding wasn't stopping, and he was getting worried. The ambulance arrived soon.

They paramedics applied first aid first, but the bleeding wasn't stopping. Then they put her on a stretcher, and wheeled her into the ambulance. Uriel held her hand as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Stay with me Paige, please don't leave me ". His chest felt tight, and it was like he was being suffocated. Like every bit of life was being taken out of his body.

They arrived at the hospital soon, and Paige was pushed into the operating room. After a while, the doctor came out. Uriel was standing outside the door anxiously. "Are you the patients family? ". The doctor was surprised to see him standing at the door for a moment. "Y-Yes I'm her family. I-Is she alright?". Uriel looked like he was about to lose his mind.

"The patient seems to have a case of hemophilia. It's rare in females, and it could be hereditary, causing uncontrollable bleeding. It might take sometime for her wound to form scabs. Luckily none of her organs were affected. The patient has lost a lot of blood, and needs a transfusion. May I ask your blood type sir?". The doctor explained Paige's condition to Uriel.

"I'm a type O blood sir". As he spoke, Uriel hopped he'd be able to help Paige. He didn't know her blood type. He knew she should've learnt this in case of an emergency, but he didn't expect one so soon, neither did he know she had hemophilia. "That's great then. You can donate blood to her. Please follow me for a screening - then you can donate your blood to her".

Uriel followed closely behind the doctor. After the screening, it was okay for him to donate blood to Paige. She had been moved from the operation room, to a normal ward, where the blood was administered to her. Uriel felt weak after giving so much blood, but he was glad he helped Paige. Now he had to deal with the people who hurt her.

He took out his phone and called the old cleaning lady. "Hello aunty Claire. Can you help me take care of something?. I hosted a party at my house this evening, but someone hurt Paige. I won't be coming back tonight, but I need you to make sure that nobody tampers with the CCTV footage from tonight. And you'd have to help me clean up the ground floor. I don't want to perceive the smell of blood". He sounded tired and angry as he spoke. "How could someone dare to hurt the young madam?. Don't worry young master, I'll take care of the house till you return. You focus on taking care of the young madam". Claire was an understanding old woman. She was more like a mother to Uriel.

"I'm sorry to bother you aunt. Don't worry about Paige. The people who hurt her, won't go free. They're all gonna pay!". Uriel said goodnight to the old lady. He walked slowly into the ward to stay with Paige. The doctor said she'd be awake in a few hours. Her skin looked pale. He brushed a strand of stray hair from her face behind her ear. He remembered how she looked so beautiful this evening, in her white dress. The vibrant look on her face, and her dazzling smile. And all the things he planned for tonight.

Now she seemed lifeless. If he got there a little later, she might've left this world tonight. He smiled bitterly. At least she was okay. Now he wondered how he could face her mother. She had left her daughter in his care, but he let her get hurt. He held Paige's hand, and fell asleep, as he sat on the stool beside her bed.
