C14 Invading Her Room!!

Winter nights come early, and the house is already warm with the fire crackling in the hearth. Xiaoxi helps Gu Zhuohua change clothes. As soon as the thick jacket is off, Zhuohua's rounded belly becomes more noticeable. She can't help but marvel at how her belly seems to change every day now that it's showing.

"Miss, the little one must be taking care of you. It's been over three months, and you haven't felt any discomfort," Xiaoxi remarks. Most people experience morning sickness or fatigue by the third or fourth month, but Zhuohua seems to feel just fine.

She gently touches her belly, unsure of her feelings. The thought of ending the pregnancy brings a strange, indescribable sensation to her heart. With a soft smile, she muses, "Maybe I was just scared out of my wits after surviving that ordeal."

Xiaoxi shakes her head in disagreement. "I think the Gu family is exceptional, and the little one is just gathering strength for a grand entrance! Yes, that's it," she insists, nodding to herself.

"Little one? Who said it's a boy? I prefer girls," Zhuohua replies. Remembering her own difficult childhood, she dreams of having a daughter and making her the happiest child in the world, unlike her own past.

Xiaoxi is momentarily taken aback, but her intuition still tells her it's a boy. After helping Zhuohua settle into bed, Xiaoxi thoughtfully closes the windows and doors before leaving. In the past, she would stay in the outer room while Zhuohua slept, but now, using the cold as an excuse, Zhuohua sends her back to her own room, saying she doesn't get up at night.

The bright moonlight reflects off the snow, making the night as bright as day. In this glow, Zhuohua curiously examines her slender fingers. As she raises her hand slightly, a thought crosses her mind, and the curtain hook suddenly releases, letting the drape fall.

Gu Zhuohua moved to the vanity nearby, trying to focus her mind, but no matter how hard she concentrated, the vanity box wouldn't budge. Her fingers trembled slightly, and a thin layer of sweat formed on her forehead, but it was all in vain.

She gazed at her fingers, feeling a bit disheartened. In her previous life, she had accidentally discovered her ability to move objects with her mind, a skill that had allowed her to complete tasks exceptionally well. However, recalling that eerie ancient tomb, her brow furrowed. It seemed to suppress her abilities, so much so that when she crossed over, her control was less than a tenth of what it used to be.

She sighed, wondering if diligent practice could help her regain her strength. Clearing her mind, Gu Zhuohua closed her eyes, preparing to sleep.

Suddenly, a faint, unusual scent wafted past her nose, jolting her awake. She quickly rolled out of bed, stuffed her pillow under the covers, and hid behind the screen. All these actions took only a moment.

A long knife slipped through the door latch, its sharp edge slicing through the wooden bolt. Several figures dressed in black swiftly entered, moving like shadows. Reaching the bed, they didn't hesitate, bringing the knife down hard. Realizing something was amiss, the one holding the knife yanked back the covers, revealing a slashed pillow.

At the same time, several long needles shot from the direction of the screen, piercing the back of the outermost intruder's head.

"Damn, it's a trap!" the leader shouted, lunging toward the screen, kicking it down, only to find no one behind it.

"What brings you gentlemen to my home in the dead of night?" Gu Zhuohua stood in the courtyard, draped in a white fur cloak, smiling as she spoke.

The intruders exchanged glances, their eyes filled with surprise. They hadn't noticed how she had managed to get outside.

"Prepare to meet your end!" The man in black shouted fiercely, darting toward Gu Zhuohua's position.

A flash of suppressed, bloodthirsty rage crossed the woman's face. With a quick pivot on her toes, she glided backward, sending the snowflakes covering the courtyard into a wild dance. The swirling snow blended with the fur coat she wore, making it nearly impossible to discern her exact location.

The man in black was immediately thrown off balance. Wasn't the Gu family's young lady supposed to be a delicate woman incapable of defending herself? How could this be?

Before he could fully process his shock, a sharp dagger pierced through from behind, straight through his neck. His eyes widened in disbelief as his body hit the ground with a thud.

Gu Zhuohua smirked. "Fool, to lose focus at the brink of life and death."

The remaining men in black stood frozen in shock.
