C15 It Was All a Small Matter
In just a split second, they hadn't even seen how the woman made her move, despite being at least thirty feet away from the man in black. Gu Zhuohua sneered. There were too many pieces of jewelry in her makeup box, making them hard to control, but a dagger was just within her range.
"You witch, what kind of sorcery are you using?" the man in black shouted angrily. The person she had just taken down was the most skilled among them, yet he couldn't withstand even one move from her.
With a dismissive tone, Gu Zhuohua replied, "Sorcery? Don't let your ignorance judge others' skills." Even if it were sorcery, I wouldn't tell you, fool!
The men in black were well-trained, and although they were initially shocked, they quickly recovered. With a glance, the remaining three charged forward, surrounding Gu Zhuohua.
Gu Zhuohua frowned. Her earlier success was due to catching them off guard, but now it would be more challenging.
"Who sent you to kill me? Duke Lin?" she asked.
"When you reach the afterlife, someone will tell you!" the man in black sneered coldly as three large knives advanced toward her.
Gu Zhuohua flicked her wrist, and the falling snowflakes began to swirl again as she swiftly moved through them. She paused for a moment, and a long blade grazed past her ear, slicing off a lock of her hair.
Damn it! Gu Zhuohua cursed silently, not daring to stop her movements. This body was too weak, and she couldn't fully utilize her abilities!
The three men seemed to have found a pattern. If she paused, they quickly located her, and at this rate, it was only a matter of time before they caught her. Gu Zhuohua's mind raced. The trio maintained their formation, and whenever one changed position, the other two quickly adjusted to follow his lead.
In just a short time, Gu Zhuohua had already sustained several wounds, with bright red blood seeping from the slender cuts.
Fortunately, they underestimated Miss Gu from the mansion, thinking she was just a simpleton, so they didn’t bother poisoning the weapons. Otherwise, she might have been dead by now.
Gu Zhuohua gritted her teeth, tossing her dagger lightly to meet the opponent's long sword. The adversary seemed prepared, and with a clang, the dagger was knocked to the ground.
“You wretched woman, let’s see where you run this time!” the man in black shouted angrily, the swirling snowflakes only fueling their rage as he swung his sword toward Gu Zhuohua.
Gu Zhuohua swiftly dodged, the gleaming blade slicing past her, reflecting her image. She retreated a few steps, stopping in the snow, her pale face cold and unfeeling. “Run? Who said I was going to run?”
Her survival skill was to counterattack. Although these men were skilled, they were no match for the experienced Gu Zhuohua.
Her icy gaze fixed on the man in black before her. “Three of you, one gets to live. Choose.”
The man in black sneered, “Miss Gu, you sure talk big.”
Gu Zhuohua shook her head at one of the men in black, “You really don’t know when you’re beaten.”
With that, her figure, which had been standing still, vanished into the swirling snow. The man in black was momentarily stunned, a mocking smile on his face, thinking she was using the same old trick...
Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain. His eyes widened as he looked at another man in black who had driven a sword into his chest, blood spilling from his mouth. “You... how could you...”
Gu Zhuohua smirked coldly. Before the attacker could react, there was another swift movement. Her hand guided the elbow of the stabbed man, causing the two long swords to cross and pierce through.
In an instant, two lives were snuffed out.
The remaining man in black steadied himself just in time to avoid the scene of mutual slaughter. He stared in shock at the woman standing there, having killed four people without a single drop of blood on her.
He was the weakest in martial arts among the five and the slowest to react, so he saw the scene clearly. The woman had cleverly used the falling snow to conceal herself, then thickened the snow layer to quickly slip behind the second most skilled fighter dressed in black. The outcome was predictable.
In this case, quick reflexes weren't necessarily an advantage. The attention of the men in black was focused on Gu Zhuohua, so they failed to notice the other companion she had intentionally hidden.
This is the essence of a counterattack: finding the opponent's weakness to achieve maximum effect with minimal effort. The bodies of the two men in black slowly fell, sinking into the thick snow.
"Tell Duke Lin that if he wants my life, he'd better send a real expert," Gu Zhuohua stood calmly, her fierce gaze slightly angled. "Get lost!"
Though shocked, the man in black wouldn't miss a chance to save his life. He gathered his inner strength and quickly headed out of the mansion, not daring to pause for a moment.
