C16 What Exactly Did I Owe You?

After they became friends on social media, Yeh Xirann couldn't suppress a giggle at the sight of Zhou Jinheng emerging from the shop mid-renovation. It was the first time she found a celebrity so relatable...

But her amusement quickly faded when she saw the picture Zhou Jinheng had sent. The world of a soulful artist is truly incomprehensible! Even though he thoughtfully marked Yeh Xirann's current location, deciphering his drawing was no easy feat.

Huddled in a corner, Yeh Xirann scrutinized the image over a dozen times before it finally made sense to her.

She cautiously surveyed her surroundings to ensure her immediate safety before swiftly moving toward her intended destination.

With Mu Yanchen still around, she dared not make any sudden moves. She opted to hide near the nearest independent lounge, planning to emerge once he had departed.

Soon, Mu Yanchen exited with his usual cool demeanor.

"We'll promptly take care of everything Mr. Mu mentioned. Following the plan we just agreed upon, we aim to resolve the issue before Miss Mu's full moon celebration, ensuring she can truly enjoy the occasion."

From her hiding spot, Yeh Xirann could only see the back of the speaker's head, while Mu Yanchen's face was in clear view.

His expression indicated satisfaction with the conversation.

Their exchange was brief, but Yeh Xirann heard every word.

She had assumed Mu Yanchen was there to verify the reliability of her submitted proposal, but to her surprise, his visit was concerning Mu Wenxuan.

Typical of such men, she mused, lavishing the object of their affection with extravagant care, yet remaining indifferent to the well-being of others.

"I would like Yixing Media to enter into an exclusive agreement with Mu Wenxuan's studio, with Xuan taking the lead on fashion design and material selection."

This statement struck Yeh Xirann like a bolt of lightning, her eyes widening as she unconsciously dug her nails into her palm, oblivious to the pain.

At that moment, she truly grasped Mu Yanchen's underlying motive.

He had come to drum up business for Mu Wenxuan, who was confined at home due to her pregnancy, and in the process, he aimed to cut off any escape for Yeh's Embroidery!

It was a clever strategy indeed, hitting two targets with one arrow!

Watching Mu Yanchen's lips move, Yeh Xirann mustered all her strength to quell her fury but ultimately stormed out.

The sudden appearance of someone from that spot startled everyone, causing them to retreat in alarm.

Mu Yanchen's gaze intensified when he recognized Yeh Xirann.

"Mu Yanchen, have you no humanity left? What do I owe you?" Yeh Xirann confronted him, her eyes red and her face etched with loathing.

"How did you get in here?" Mu Yanchen inquired, his tone icy.

His voice was deep and even, clearly conveying his anger, yet his face remained impassive.

The staff, initially poised to eject the intruder, froze mid-action.

They had assumed the intruder was a journalist or a fan, but the situation didn't seem to fit that narrative.

Kuan Yue, witnessing the impending confrontation, swiftly intervened to defuse the tension. He positioned himself protectively in front of Mu Yanchen while signaling to Yeh Xirann with his eyes.

Yeh Xirann, teetering on the edge of collapse, paid no heed to his gestures. She stood her ground, adamant about getting the justice she deserved.

"Where is security? How did someone slip in unnoticed? Get her out of here, now!"

Kuan Yue, keen to spare her further trouble, quickly summoned others to escort her away.

At his command, the crowd surged forward in unison.

Yeh Xirann, caught off guard, was knocked down, her arms wrenched behind her. Despite her struggles, she was pinned to the ground by the relentless crowd.
