C4 The Divorce Agreement Was Signed!

Yeh Xirann's voice was as delicate as her features. Her polite smile at this moment made it difficult for anyone to turn her away.

The receptionist courteously said, "One moment, please," before promptly dialing Kuan Yue's extension.

After the call, the receptionist returned with a stern look and escorted Yeh Xirann into the CEO's private elevator.

Accessing the elevator required a select few individuals to scan their fingerprints or for the receptionist to use a card.

She was Mrs. Mu in name only, yet she wasn't deemed worthy to stand proudly by Mu Yanchen's side, much less possess such exclusive privileges.

Yeh Xirann observed the receptionist's fluid motions, her heart undisturbed by any ripples of emotion.

There was a time when such a detail would have brought her to tears in secret. Even early in her pregnancy, buoyed by a shift in Mu Yanchen's demeanor, she naively coaxed him to grant her elevator access...

Only to be callously tossed from the bed in his irritation.

The fall was harsh, leaving her with a night of agonizing pain, silently endured...

It was a stroke of luck that the baby wasn't lost then.

Yet, in the end, she couldn't withstand Mu Yanchen's ruthless indifference.

The elevator came to a halt on the 20th floor.

As the doors opened, Yeh Xirann half-expected to be met with Kuan Yue's warm smile, but instead, a chill swept over her.

Mu Yanchen stood at the office entrance, his expression blank. Clad in the dark suits he favored at work, one hand casually pocketed, he regarded her with a dark, penetrating gaze.

The backlighting intensified his already icy demeanor to its utmost.

Yeh Xirann, standing in the elevator, met his gaze squarely, stepping out before the doors slid shut.

She hadn't planned on encountering him today, but a confrontation was inevitable. This chance meeting might as well be considered a 'twist of fate.'

"I came to see Kuan Yue. My apologies for the interruption, CEO Mu," Yeh Xirann managed to muster a courteous smile.

Rather than forcing a smile, she felt like rolling her eyes in exasperation.

"Kuan Yue isn't here; please come in first."

Mu Yanchen spoke and promptly turned to head back to his office.

Yeh Xirann inhaled deeply and quickly followed him inside.

She had already encountered him; there was no point in avoiding the inevitable.

Yet, she hadn't anticipated that another 'old acquaintance' would be sitting in the office!

Upon her entry, Mu Wenxuan, cradling her seven-month pregnant belly, carefully stood up, her youthful face registering shock.

Mu Yanchen's office, usually so immaculate it bordered on obsessive-compulsive, was somewhat disheveled, with piles of magazines and portfolios strewn across the desk and coffee table.

"Watch your belly, sit down quickly," Mu Yanchen chided Mu Wenxuan with a stern glance.

Mu Wenxuan hastily resumed her seat on the sofa, feigning obedience, yet her eyes remained fixed on Yeh Xirann.

The harsh tone of his voice caused Yeh Xirann to suppress a chuckle.

Had she not previously calculated the timeline on social media, she might never have grasped why Mu Yanchen had so readily abandoned her and their child.

Knowing his character, how could he possibly care about others who were inconsequential to him?

In her presence, Mu Yanchen took his place beside Mu Wenxuan with the same ease as always.

"Rann, when did you come to? We had no idea!" Mu Wenxuan's expression had shifted from shock to an indiscernible delight.

"We?" The word was cleverly used to exclude Yeh Xirann.

Without responding, Yeh Xirann maintained a faint smile and calmly spread out two documents before Mu Yanchen.

"The divorce agreement is signed. Return Yeh's Embroidery to me. From now on, our paths diverge, and there's no need for further contact."
