Terri brought her another hot toddie and curled up beside her on the sofa. Caro scratched at the gauze around her hand and sighed.

“So, tell me more. What was his name?”

“McBride. Declan McBride.”

Her friend grinned. “Sounds hot. What’s he do?”

“He’s a cop with Atlanta PD.”

“A cop? How’d you meet him?”

“He’s the one who saved me from all of this.” She gestured at her body.
