C3 Unreconciled

As usual, it was a cold and unpleasant dinner. Mu Yunsheng ate two bowls as if she was relieved of her hatred, then returned to her room with Old Madam Mu's unhappy gaze. The remaining people cleaned up the table and kitchen.

She had wanted to stay behind and clean up, and she even had to cook meals with her mother and work in the fields, but she had stopped doing these things every day since she went to the town to sell doughnuts for money, unless it was her mother's turn to clean up.

When she returned to her room, her mother, Aunt Lin, was already there. Since her brother was sick, he had to stay and take care of him, so he didn't come to the table that night.

Mu Yunsheng told her to go eat dinner, but she didn't go. She just silently cried as she looked at Mu Yunshu.

Mu Yunsheng quickly went up and touched her brother Mu Yunshu's forehead. It was still boiling hot, and under the dim light, Mu Yunsheng felt that her child's face had turned even more green than two days ago. She said worriedly, "It's already been three or four days, how is it not good?"

Seeing Aunt Lin wiping away her tears, Mu Yunsheng could only comfort her. "Mom, don't worry. This doctor can't cure you. I'll call my grandma to change her doctor. He will treat my little brother eventually."

Aunt Lin covered her mouth and started crying even harder. Mu Yunsheng originally thought that she was worried about her brother and refused to eat. Seeing her crying like this made her feel weird. She subconsciously said, "Did the doctor say something bad?"

Aunt Lin shook her head.

"What's that? Did Grandma beat you up again?"

Aunt Lin still shook her head.

Mu Yunsheng panicked. She was someone who pitied Aunt Lin, who was a widow but not a good mother. However, Aunt Lin's mute personality sometimes really made people anxious. She stood up and couldn't control her tone, "If you didn't say anything, who would know what happened? If my little brother had anything, it would've been all done by you."

Aunt Lin had been covering her mouth the entire time. After calling Mu Yunsheng to scold her, she suddenly seemed to come to a realization. "Sheng'er, Sheng'er, save your little brother. Your granny, she …"

"What about my grandma?"

"She …" Aunt Lin seemed to be very afraid of something. She kept her body hunched over and then she finally managed to squeeze out her voice. "Your grandma didn't even send a doctor to Shu'er. If she doesn't ask us to tell you, if you want to know, then sell her to the brothel."

Who would tell her that this room was filled with people who wished to eat their flesh and blood? Who would tell her that these words were meant for Aunt Lin?

As for the kiln, what kind of place was that? It was the place where the lower class resided. Also, don't think that as long as a pretty girl like her is in a place like that, no one would want a middle-aged woman like Aunt Lin. It would be a huge mistake if they didn't want a pretty girl like Aunt Lin.

Mu Yunsheng had only been in this world for more than a year, but she had never experienced good things. She knew quite a lot about all sorts of dirty things, and for a time, she felt that she was like a slave ordering others to order around, while her mother was probably like an animal.

Perhaps it was because no matter how weak or useless her mother was, the heart to love her was real, or perhaps she lived as miserably as her mother.

Mu Yunsheng had a strange relationship with Aunt Lin and her brother. Knowing that they weren't close relatives, she couldn't help but become one.

Old Madam Mu was eating her flesh and blood now, and she was trying to trick her, causing Mu Yunsheng's unruly mood to light up again, momentarily forgetting that she was still weak. She grabbed the wooden stick used to push open the door, ran into Old Madam Mu's room like a warrior, kicked the door open, and started hitting people the moment she saw them: "You two old beasts, I've really never seen such despicable children like you, how old are you, how old is Shu'er, if you can treat her with a few coins, it's alright if you don't pay, but you're coaxing me …"

Mu Yunsheng was furious. She knew that it was definitely her uncles that had suppressed her, but she couldn't hold it in any longer. She really couldn't take it anymore!

Old Madam Mu could have asked Mu Yunshu for a doctor, but she had already invited him herself. She could have earned a lot of money because of the lack of money, but these two bastards told her to sell at ease when Mu Yunshu was sick, and they went to the village to ask for a doctor.

She believed it.

Now that she sold the goods and handed in the money, she endured all sorts of insults. In the end, the doctor didn't invite her and even threatened her mother.

How could there be a parent and grandfather in this world who would stand on their children's shoulders and gnaw on their blood!? Such a beast with human skin!

Mu Yunsheng messily beat around the bush and smashed a few jars in the room. The oil inside was scattered all over the floor and the room was filled with sticky oil fragrance.

She waved her staff at Old Master Mu, who just happened to come out for a look. Old Master Mu was only in his early fifties, less than 60 years old, and his body was sturdy. After taking a hit, he immediately grabbed the stick and hit Mu Yunsheng: "It's against the heavens, his granddaughter actually insulted her grandfather."

Mu Yunsheng's body was only 13 or 14 years old. Although she did heavy work every day and looked pretty strong, it was useless to fight against adults. Soon, Old Master Mu's two sons came out, along with their wives and cousins.

When they saw Old Master Mu beat up Mu Yunsheng, a strange excitement appeared on their faces, especially after Mu Yunsheng earned money, they often relied on this' Uncle and Aunt 'to call their faces unsightly. Now that they saw Mu Yunsheng beaten up, it was as if the loss of their dignity would come back to them.

Third Aunt called out to her man excitedly, "Revitalize her! Beat her up! Beat her to death! Seeing that she was going to earn two dollars, she started to fly away. Usually, when she saw that Lin Guihua, that bitch, didn't even give her a cake as a form of filial piety, she would give birth to such stingy things."

Hearing this, Mu Huanzhi's face turned fierce, and hard fists rained down from the sky like raindrops.

Eldest Uncle Mu Zhenjia was not at home. He was half a cultured man, and his father-in-law only cared about accounting. Like him, she was also a cultured man, so she was not the same as Third Aunt. She covered her mouth with a handkerchief and stared at Mu Yunsheng unblinkingly.

Seeing that it was about time, he tried to persuade her, "Dad, your niece is still young and doesn't understand. It's fine if you hit her a few times, but it's not worth it for you to be so agitated."

He didn't have any dignity of an uncle, but he still wanted to trick Mu Yunsheng into hiding some money for him to spend, saying that he was the younger brother of Mu Yunsheng's father, and that he was the best with her father. Since she had the money, she should be filial to him.

The cousins did not dare to approach too far. They all watched from afar. Their eyes flickered with fear, and some could not bear to be like the adults. Their eyes were filled with burning rays of light.

Then, Aunt Lin, her mother, ran back in panic and stood in front of her again, crying.

That was what Mu Yunsheng saw at the end.

She thought she'd killed herself.

However …

She wasn't willing to accept this.

Really, even if she were to live in the mud, she would not be willing to die in such a useless manner.
