C9 Meet Black Bear

As night fell, the entire beach was swallowed up by darkness, and the only light that came from our fire was dark red. The wind was blowing hard, and the waves were crashing against the rocks. I know it's high tide... The tide used to ebb in the late afternoon, but this is the first time it's done in the evening, and I think I'll have to get up early tomorrow, because there might be a lot of fish in the mangroves.

The noise of the sea did not affect our sleep because we were tired. A moment later we were all heavy.

Not long after we fell asleep, a dark figure approached us slowly. After lingering around us for a long time... It's just that we didn't attract his attention as we were sleeping. It was only when he was near the fire that he caught our attention and left bitterly.

At dawn, Auntie Lin was the first to wake up. She didn't wake up and instead went to the beach to wash her face and catch some fish. As soon as she approached the mangrove forest, she saw a dark figure inside. She was so scared that she ran before she could see what was happening.

"Li Kai, there's a big black shadow over there" Aunt Lin ran until she was out of breath. His face was pale with fear.

I heard someone calling and I got up. When Auntie Lin went to shake Wang Yao and Li Yan, "Stop sleeping! Get up quickly! There's monsters in there!"

Upon hearing that there was a monster, Wang Yao and Li Yan's face immediately paled. They immediately ran over to hide behind me, vigilantly looking around.

"Auntie Lin, what did you see?" I calmly looked at Auntie Lin, tightly holding the sharpened steel bar in my hand.

"It's in the mangrove forest over there. It's very dark, very big, and covered in fur." From Auntie Lin's expression, it could be seen that the monster was very, very big and scary. After recovering, I asked Auntie Lin if that monster had noticed her. Auntie Lin said that I didn't think so. The monster had its back facing her.

I thought of the half-eaten crab. His heart began to feel cold and thin. While I was deep in thought, I felt my foot touch something. I moved my foot and saw a fish tail. A fresh fish tail. Last night, we caught a lot of fish, because we didn't finish eating it and put it on the trunk, then we looked at the top of the trunk and there wasn't a single fish. I was startled. It could only mean that the monster Auntie Lin saw was here with us last night. And we ate our fish. I broke out in a cold sweat.

But I have a question in my mind. Why didn't it attack us? Will it hurt us? Or did it not discover us … If it doesn't hurt why we ate our fish and that half crab, I'm sure the monster didn't notice us last night, or else we'll hurt us if we don't eat it.

I didn't tell them what I thought because they were scared enough. I told them it would only make them more scared.

We didn't dare go to the mangroves to catch fish, so we ate dried wild lamb. I wanted to move to another place, but I didn't know where I was safe now. I was afraid to move closer to the monster.

But it found us here last night, and what if we don't leave, it'll come to us at night? Where are we going? I suddenly felt so confused that I couldn't think of anything... I have to come up with a plan. We can't wait to die here, we have to leave here …

We didn't have much, just a pack of mutton jerky, a trunk of junk, and two packs of clothes. I soothed the two girls, who had been distracted, by saying that nothing was wrong but a bigger animal. We haven't been discovered by it. We're just leaving for the time being. When it's gone, we'il be back...

"But when will it leave? Where was his home? Is there anything else in his home … " Wang Yao suspiciously looked at me. I couldn't answer her question right away. Wang Yao was right. There can't be only one monster on this island. If there was only one, then where did he come from? I was confused at first and didn't know where to move to. But there's no water, so we have to go and drink it first,

I'll let Auntie Lin pack her things and we'll leave immediately. Auntie Lin answered me and went to clean up … Li Yan returned to her senses and went to help. Wang Yao has been holding my arm, unwilling to leave me half a step.

After packing up, I comforted Wang Yao and said that we should go to the pond first. It was very far away, so it couldn't find us. She let go and took the little white rabbit from Auntie Lin's hands. I picked up the suitcase, Liyan carrying the lamb jerky, Auntie Lin carrying the clothes on her back and the salt in her hand. I kept the long steel bar in my hand, and it was the only weapon. If I'm in danger, I want to stay and let them run. If there is any danger, I will be more cautious if they are by my side. If they run away, I can give it a shot...

When we left, there was still a lot of dry wood, and the fire was still burning, so I added a few sticks of thick wood to it and put the coals on top of it, and then I buried the fire in the sand, thinking that if we came back here in a short time, this would be one of the fires we had left behind. Because charcoal burns slowly in oxygen insulated sand, the fire can last for a long time...

When we left, I asked Li Yan to bring a burning firewood. We didn't encounter that monster along the way. When we arrived at the pond and found that the trap we set didn't catch the sheep, we were a little depressed … We drank water and found a place to live in the woods. After searching for a while, we found a large tree hole about 100 meters away from the pool. The tree was very large; all six of us held hands but couldn't surround it, and it was empty except for the bottom. The wood in the trunk of the tree was rotten, but the tree was still tenaciously alive, so I found that it was the only tree within 20 meters. The ground was already littered with leaves. I looked inside the hollow tree and found nothing unusual. I only felt that the wood in the tree was black, as if it had been burnt...

There were some cobwebs on the tree hole, so there weren't any animals coming in for a while. I told them to move the things in, but I felt good about finding a place like this. At least we wouldn't get wet during the rainy season …

We decided to live here first, and we needed to rekindle the fire. I'll go find firewood and let Auntie Lin and Li Yan clean up the thick leaves. I'm afraid that if there are too many leaves, they'll burn them all at once … Wang Yao tied the rabbit to the trunk with a bandage. The little white rabbit also gradually got used to us, quietly eating the small grass pulled by Li Yan.

When Wang Yao and I returned, Auntie Lin and the others had pretty much cleaned up the leaves and could already see the soil and rocks on the ground. Li Yan also found a rusty sword in the leaves. She excitedly held out her face to me, just like a princess handing her sword to a knight.

I was also very happy that the sword was about a meter or so long. It was very exquisite, but because it had been buried in the leaves for so long, there was no longer any edge to it. Before Li Yan's firewood was extinguished, Auntie Lin used the leaves to start the fire again. I took the sword and the steel bar to the pool. I wanted to find a stone to sharpen him. Wang Yao used Devi's box to help me with the water. Li Yan also found a stone to help me grind the steel bar.

Slowly, the rust on the ancient sword began to wear down, revealing its sharpness. It was a three-finger-wide sword with a groove in the middle, and the place it was holding was a black piece of wood. It was 20 centimeters long, and had strange carvings on it. There was no sign of decay on that piece of wood... I looked at the only weapon in my hand. I didn't know where his former master had gone. He didn't know if his master was still alive, but at the very least, it proved that someone from this island had existed. He just didn't know where he had gone …

There were a lot of questions in my mind, and I didn't think too much about them, but I really needed a weapon like that. Although I have never used a sword before, I can protect them better on this deserted island. With a bit more confidence...

After eating, I scouted the surroundings. I broke some of the thick bowls with my bare hands and tied them with rattan sticks to the tree trunk to make a fence. so that even if animals came, they wouldn't attack us all at once...

After all this, I'm going to the seaside to take a look. I wanted to go alone, but Wang Yao and Li Yan wanted to go with me. However, I was worried that Auntie Lin would leave Li Yan alone. It wasn't because I was biased, but because I felt that Li Yan was more stable. I told them to hide in the tree hole and not come out. He even passed the sword to Li Yan to let her defend herself … When I was about to leave with the steel bar, she ran out and thrust the sword into my hand, saying that she would only be relieved if I held the sword … Then, she took away the steel bar in my hand. The short steel bar in Wang Yao's hand was also sharpened … Li Yan has been watching us leave...

We slowly made our way back to the beach. Finding nothing unusual, I told Wang Yao to hide between two boulders and told her not to come out no matter what happened. If I didn't return for half an hour, I'd run back. She shook her head with all her might, and tears started streaming down her face …

She suddenly hugged me tightly, telling me not to go. If I died, they wouldn't be able to continue living. She also said that she shouldn't hide behind rocks. If she meets a monster, I'll fight it with her. Even if we die, we'll die together …

I don't know why she was so agitated. But I suddenly felt a little sore in my nose. I felt that we couldn't leave each other. We were like family. I'm their support and they're my spiritual support... I don't know if I can live on this desert island without them...

I approached the mangroves with her. There was no sign of it, but I saw a large footprint. We followed it slowly and found nothing.

You may ask why we're back from danger, but I'd say we have to come back because only the seaside can be found every day. We can't get anything to eat in the forest except water. Fish are washed up every day by the sea, and there are crabs. To survive, we have to come to the sea every day in search of food. Wang Yao and I hurriedly picked up the fish and caught a few crabs before heading back. Wang Yao said that she was going to collect the clothes from last night. Auntie Lin, who had changed out of the house after showering, did not do so in a hurry when she was left to dry. She and I will go and collect the clothes.

They could see their cool clothes from far away. In the middle of the two coconut trees, they tied a wooden stick, and their clothes were hanging on top of it … It had to be said that Auntie Lin was really smart. As we neared the clothes, I saw a dark figure. It was about two meters behind a big rock beside his clothes … I pulled Wang Yao along and squatted down. We hid behind a rock, Wang Yao stuck out her little head and peeked at it before hiding...

"What is that?" she whispered to me.

"Bear" my eyes never left the black bear... Afraid that it would turn around and pounce on us...

I took her hand and slowly stood back, one eye on the bear... The sword in his hand was tightly gripped …
