C11 Eleven

The food was good enough but compared to what she usually have in her kingdom Claire felt it wasn’t good enough back then she has her own dining room to eat various kind of meals she wanted but it seems here she has to make do with whatever is being served for meals.

“Marriage!”

One of the reasons she has accepted this arrangement of marriage with the prince is because of her ambition to become a queen of one of the kingdoms and Silverbell Kingdom being the second of all four kingdoms was the right choice for her great ambition, she has successfully parted ways for her brother to ascend the throne after their father, the king and also her mother is the highly respected queen of all so what’s left now is for her to attain the highest position a woman could get to in the whole kingdom, the favorite wife of the Queen.

If she’s going to be the Queen, shouldn’t she find her King?

The way to the bakery seems far as she tread the path alone without her maid, another about Silverbell that she finds strange is the fact that the personal maids and guards doesn’t follow them around in the palace unlike her Kingdom where the maids are seen everywhere with their masters and mistresses

“I need to go attend to something else your ladyship, I will back if you need me” the maid girl has said before she took off without asking her permission to leave.

“Where is Prince Michael?” she had grasp a guard and asked

“He should be with the head chef inside the scullery” he said and walk away, Claire was once again baffled and angered seeing the disrespectful manner in which the guard just addressed her, first he didn’t pay obeisance to her when he saw her from afar neither did he waited for her to dismiss his presence before leaving

“Is this how rude the people of Silverbell treats their royals?” she wondered with marvel

When she finally got to the place where she was directed to by another maiden, the scene happening made her halt and wait to listen on to their conversation, after seeing her touch him the first time Claire felt a swoop of anger run through her body she tried to understand the situation and what the two were talking about

“They had a past together” she concluded from their facial expression and words

Just as she was calculating things, her hands reached for him the second time and she saw it as a good opportunity to make them aware of her presence in the room

“Take your hands off of him”

She took her steps calmly and firm to his side and shove her hands off him.

“It’s the rude maid again” she said recognizing her immediately.

“He’s mine now” she told her and watch her face turn miserable but then she let it go and cross her hands against her bosom

“The fact that Prince Michael is getting married to you doesn’t mean he will be yours, that much you should know princess”

With a scoff at her words, Claire step back a bit from her and also copied her action seconds ago

“And you should know that having an affair with a groom of Aither Kingdom could cost your life and those of your family” she resorted back and Eris muscle lessened

Seeing her message is well passed across, her steps move forward again this time in full energy and her hands went up straight in the air aiming for her face, not expecting her hit Eris yelped out and put her hands to her face to protect it from getting smashed

“I’m not going to hit you, if I hit you now I will hit you again and that will be it that would be a waste of my time”

“You might think you are almighty and invincible but this is Silverbell palace not your palace where you rule like a god over everyone, here you are no match for me” she retaliated back with her words.

“Then let see whom is supreme over whom”

Finishing the statement, the already raised hands fell hard on Eris’s face, so also is the look of shock on Michael’s face.

“Unbelievable! She already sprout trouble two days to her arrival to the palace”

The palace maids and workers gossips among each other as the news spread out although not most of them has seen the Princess but they have heard news of her and how scary she is and learning that she had hit the king’s aide, everyone marvel and wonder what exactly is she.

Well, the consort were not left behind as they all speak their minds about the incident, since they heard of the marriage arrangement between their Prince and a Princess of Aither, they had been worried about how to tackle a princess of such great kingdom like hers, having being lucky to be married into the royal family they became princess bringing glory to theirselves and their families but having a real princess in their midst might bring a disadvantage to them and their respective husbands.

“I bet this one won’t last long” Sonja said with her lips parted up in a smirk as the Princess Claire was called in to the king’s court.

“Princess Claire, I believe you know why you are called into the sacred court today” King Edward said with stony face at the princess who doesn’t seems to mind the unfriendly glares from everyone in the room, she’s use to be hated so this isn’t any different but being called just because she discipline a servant who was being impudent is something she doesn’t understand “what kind of customs rules these people she wondered, shouldn’t she be complimented instead

“I don’t quite understand your majesty, King Edward, am I being called here because of a lowly servant?” she asked with disgust in her voice and body attitude

“Atrocious behavior Princess” the first prince who is sitting just near the King burst out and stood up

“Eris is the King’s special person who is also a member of the royal family and is treated with veneration in the Kingdom, you dare refer to her as a low servant” he alarmed and turn to the King to say more

“Your majesty, I don’t think we need to investigate more about the incident, it’s obviously Princess Claire has disrespected your loyal aide” he finished and took his seat.

“Is this true Princess?” Edward asked even though it was clear to him what might have happened

“What do you want me to say? You have clearly unite against me so whatever I say wouldn’t matter” she replied with no feelings of guilty and the three princes in the room stare at her in awe

“Eris is a servant of the kingdom since she serves the king, so what makes her so special that even I, Princess Claire cannot touch or castigate her, then where is the respect for the royalties?”

“What do you mean?” another Prince spoke up this time stopping his elder brother from his intended outburst

“there must be something that makes this particular servant so special that even the King and princes will be seated to get justice for her, don’t you think?” she said again and everyone looked eagerly at her

“If she’s so special that even the Queen has less authority over her then…is it that she’s not just an aide but the king’s favored woman?”

“What?!”

“How dare you!” the King thundered in rage and stood up from his throne

The princes also stood up in respect and stood in a daze not knowing how to calm him down he looked really enraged.

“My assumption must be true seeing the King’s angry face” Claire continued and the others turn to her more amazed to see her confronted expression at the King

“Do you think because you are the highly Princess of Aither I won’t be able to do anything and just let you go?” the King asked stamping up

“I do nothing to deserve being punish your Majesty, and as you said I am the highly Princess of Aither Kingdom, the greatest in the land”

Hearing her answer and seeing her bold and unwavering countenance, King Edward sat back in shock at the outrageous attitude of the Princess, here in his kingdom no woman has ever stand up to him, not even his Queen or any other persons, what gives her this much confidence

“You are one rare woman to have the boldness to speak up in front of me” he commented her although he was still quite furious and would love a way to bring the outgrown wings of the Princess to a cease.

“Thank you, your Majesty, woman are not seen as weaker vessels in Aither, rather we are taught to bring changes to our environment” she replied and gave a little bow

“So you are saying you insulted and hit my aide just to discipline her? You just arrived at my palace and you are already getting into action of being a part of the royal family of Silverbell

“Everyone treated me like I am already a family so I thought it will be a good thing to accept their kind gestures”

“You sure have your way with words”

The princes watch the conversation between the Princess and their King with surprise and interest, finding it difficult to believe the king would let the Princess get away with her rudeness toward the king

“I apologize for not reporting to you before taking actions against the rude servant but then I don’t want her to go outside and misbehave which will bring a bad gossips about the royal families for not disciplining it servant”

“You are right but here also we don’t allow our people to be treat unfairly regardless of their social status”

“If you don’t believe I was training her manners, you can ask the head cook what she witness or even Prince Michael” she resorted and smile watching the King looking helplessly

“If there is nothing else, I would like to retire back to my quarters to rest” she said and left the King’s presence who has no option than to let her go.
