My mind was disturb, what battle line? Who did I offend, and who was her man?

I thought of calling Emaka, I gaze at my wall clock and realized it was late already.

Today, had been really stressful for emaka, and I knew it , I knew by now he would be preparing for work tomorrow as the mangers he had alot of responsibility or maybe preparing to go too bed. We had enough, on our plate already. I didn't want to complicate things already, but I knew, we needed to talk this out.

Ehh, but was the woman audacity for me?

Calling a stranger, and telling her to stay away from your man.

I was puzzled , I didn't even eat, what I had planned to cook that evening. I just picked some snacks and coco cola drink from the store room and ate, I didn't sleep well.

I had series of nightmares, before the next morning. The next day, I knew I needed to see Emaka. but my boss, had called earlier and reminded me about the project. I was to submit before resumption, and the zoom meeting we had. The meeting, took about two hours before it ended. I rechecked my project, for grammatical error and other mistake and luckily I found none. Even, though I trusted my writing ability, and the remarkable praises I receives, online about my writing skills. I knew better to recheck, one never can tell. I didn't even know time had gone so far , cause I had a meeting with the girls.

We were going out for an hangout; we always go out every end of year, to celebrate ourselves and to the celebrate our all girls community. I dressed, in an off shoulder gown above my knees that hugged my body a little and wore my heels and retouched my face not much make up but normal makeup. I ordered for an Uber driver, I checked my Whatsapp messages and checked the location the hangout would be held, though I already checked, but I just wanted to recheck.

I was still scrolling through my messages, when a message showed up, from a private number.

"Sofia or whatever you call yourself, make sure, from now go on, you always watch your back. Caused the battle line you had already drawn would soon start, get ready, I give you just twenty four hours, to end things with my man else, be ready to bath in your own blood. Immediately I was done reading the message, cold ran through my spine.

Who was this person? I called the number but it was unreachable. My heart pounded rapidly, this was not an ordinary threat that should be lukewarm end. I couldn't continue the journey, to hangout with my friends. I knew some of the girls, would be probably mad at me, but I had no other choice. I needed to speak with emaka asap, this thing is getting serious and out of hand. After telling the uber driver, about my change of destination, and where I was headed to. He told me about the bills, but I cared less even if he had called any amount I won't have cared. I immediately, picked up my phone and informed the girls that I wasn't coming again.

I logged out of my WhatsApp and dropped a message for Emaka, after he failed to pick up his calls.

I knew he was probably not with his phone, or probably he would be in a meeting. But I knew we needed to talk about this urgently. I dropped down from the cab after I paid the driver and ran straight into the company. I walked towards the receptionist,

"Good day ma, how may I help you?" the receptionist asked with a polite office tone, and a professional smiled.

"Good day. I want to meet Mr Emaka " I said and she paused gazing at me from head to toe.

For what so ever reason, I knew she was taken aback.

"Do you have an appointment?" she asked fixing her eyes on her laptop

"No" I replied.

she paused, turning her polite smile to a scorn.

"Am sorry, but you can't meet him"

"But it urgent please"

"Am sorry ma , please do fix an appointment next time, my boss is currently in a meeting" she said

"Please listen to me"

"Security, please throw her, out " she barked.

Just then when I thought I would sink in embarrassment, Emaka walked in.

"What happening here?" He asked

I sighted in delight, as he looked up at me

"Babe what are you doing here?"

"Babe I came too see you it urgent"

"Oh, I see, let go in"

"Valvet" he called

"Sir" she answered looking down on her toes

"Oh so, Valvet was her name"

"When ever she comes, let her into my office immediately. Even if am busy, did l make myself clear"

"Yes sir "

I didn't blame the receptionist, anyone in her shoes would have done what she did. Office rules, were office rules.

I sat eagerly, to discuss things with him

"let have, that conversation during lunch" he spoke briefly and I nodded.

He knew me better, that I wasn't a morning person and most often forget to eat till my stomach start crying for food. We sat at the cafeteria, after ordering the food

"Babe, who is the other woman?" I asked immediately he settled

"What other woman, are you talking about?"
