C5 The Abandoned Daughter of a Rich Family(5)
"Oh, what did you hear? What did you see?" Lingling looked at Su Mei, feeling as if Su Mei regarded her like an enemy. Why? Dislike shouldn't go that far, right?
"Yiyi's classmate saw you partying at a bar. If you embarrass us again, just get out!" Yuan Lin shouted loudly.
"Oh? Who was it? Got any photos or videos?" Lingling glanced at Yuan Lin and continued, "I have friends who saw your precious adopted daughter checking into a hotel with someone. Did I go around spreading that?"
After speaking, Lingling gave Yiyi a meaningful look, and for a moment, panic flashed in Yiyi's eyes.
"Evidence? You're making things up. How could Yiyi be like you?" Yuan Lin saw Yiyi as a source of pride, one that couldn't be tarnished.
"Yeah, where's the evidence?" Lingling shrugged and continued, "Of course, it's different. After all, how could an adopted daughter be the same as a biological one?"
Yiyi felt nauseated every time she heard the words "adopted daughter."
Lingling calmly took out a plane ticket from yesterday, her tone indifferent: "I went to visit my adoptive parents' graves yesterday. What? You can care for an adopted daughter, but I can't honor my adoptive parents?"
Respect for the deceased is a big deal, and after seeing the ticket, Yuan Lin and Su Mei couldn't say much more.
Yiyi was visibly frustrated that the situation was so easily deflected.
Just then, something white lunged at Lingling. She sidestepped, realizing it was an Old English Sheepdog, though it seemed to be in a frenzy. The dog froze under Lingling's cold gaze, lying down in fear.
Lingling glanced at Yiyi, thinking she was being too lenient, but there was no rush; the real show was yet to come.
"If you can't take care of a dog, don't have one. It can't even recognize its owner. Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll be going. No need to see me out."
Yuan Yiyi felt her pocket and smirked. The label of being ungrateful could ruin you completely.
Yuan Lin and Su Mei were relieved they hadn't transferred Yuan Lingling's household registration. If the reporters hadn't stumbled upon the paternity test results, they wouldn't have temporarily acknowledged her as part of the family.
As soon as Yuan Lingling got into her car, she opened her laptop, did some quick work, and drove off. She needed to stir things up; otherwise, these people would just sit around and cause trouble.
After entering her room, Yuan Yiyi wanted to release the recordings from her device, only to find it broken and empty. Frustrated, she trashed everything in the room. Still upset, she received a call and rushed out.
Yuan Yiyi was visibly annoyed. Mo Tingchen was acting up again, and he hadn't explained anything over the phone. If he weren't the CEO of Mo Corporation, she wouldn't bother dealing with this lunatic.
...
Yuan Lingling bought all the middle and high school textbooks, planning to prepare for the college entrance exams. She wasn't sure why the original owner's wishes didn't include this achievement, but she decided to study hard anyway. After all, learning more is never a bad thing.
Hanhan, hearing Yuan Lingling's thoughts, chimed in, "The original owner's merits allow for only three wishes. If you exceed them, there might be a pleasant surprise."
"Oh? Alright."
"Shouldn't you be excited?"
"You said 'might.' Who knows if it's just a trick to get me to work for nothing. You can go now."
Hanhan: "..."
Isn't subtlety supposed to be an art of human conversation? Why is the host always so blunt?
Yuan Lingling scheduled Yuan Yiyi's and others' intimate photos to be sent to Mo Tingchen daily. Whenever he opened his computer, they'd pop up with a message: If you don't check this computer for a day, I'll send the photos to your employees and browse your company's intranet.
