C1 Silly Girl 1

Raindrops pattered against the windowpane.

On the bustling street, the petite woman crouched under the streetlight went unnoticed.

"Where am I?"

She opened her eyes halfway, her gaze clouded with bewilderment.

The icy rain lashed at her, making her shiver uncontrollably as a jumble of images and memories flooded her mind. Fengye let out a hum and collapsed to the ground.

When she came to, she found herself on a pristine white single bed.

Instinctively, she sat up abruptly, scanning her surroundings with wary eyes.

"You're awake?"

Following the voice, she saw a dainty young girl standing before her.

The girl's large, doe-like eyes were tinged with concern.

This person... seemed vaguely familiar.

As she pondered, the girl spoke, "I found you on the street yesterday. You must have been soaked for quite a while. You had a fever in the car, so I had no choice but to bring you to the hospital."

Fengye remained silent, prompting the girl to lick her lips and tentatively ask, "Um, I don't have any money to cover your medical bills. Now that you're awake, could you possibly settle them yourself?"

Fengye lifted her gaze to the face before her and recognition dawned on her.

Lin Huanhuan, the housekeeper for the Fu Yunfei family.

She massaged her forehead, a sense of resignation washing over her.

She distinctly remembered being in the lab...

Yet now, she was assuming someone else's identity, having been caught in the rain all night on the street.

"Lin Huanhuan, may I use your phone?"

Eh?

Lin Huanhuan froze, "You know me?" Even as she spoke, her hand reflexively reached into her pocket for her mobile phone.

"I do." Fengye took the phone, paused to think, and then keyed in a number. It was one Lin Huanhuan had saved; she barely started typing before the contact popped up.

Brother Han.

Fengye hit the call button, and after just two rings, the call was answered. "Lin Huanhuan?"

The man's voice conveyed his confusion and uncertainty, clearly puzzled as to why she would be calling him.

"It's not Lin Huanhuan, it's me."

In the restroom, Han Kun's hand shook with such alarm that he nearly dropped his phone into the toilet. "Su Lan? You're with Lin Huanhuan? You…"

"Don't waste time," she said, turning to Lin Huanhuan. "Which hospital is this?"

Lin Huanhuan, still somewhat bewildered, instinctively responded, "The City Hospital."

"Okay, thanks." Fengye expressed her gratitude and then brought the phone to her ear. "Could you come to the City Hospital and pick me up?"

Han Kun was confused about the situation but replied nonetheless, "Alright, alright. Just don't do anything foolish, I'm on my way."

Foolish? Like what happened last night?

Without responding, Fengye ended the call and handed the phone to Lin Huanhuan.

Lin Huanhuan accepted the phone, glancing at it before asking cautiously, "You know Han Kun?"

"Yes," Fengye replied with a smile, her eyes narrowing playfully. "We're more than acquaintances; we have a pretty good relationship. You could say we're childhood friends."

"Childhood friends?" Lin Huanhuan murmured in confusion. "But isn't Han Kun's childhood friend also Yunfei's? Why hasn't Fu Yunfei mentioned this to me?"

"He probably didn't want you to get the wrong idea." Her mutter was quiet, but in the hushed atmosphere of the hospital, it was clearly audible.

Lin Huanhuan in front of her seemed genuinely oblivious.

"Ah?" Lin Huanhuan looked up, slightly embarrassed that her musings had been overheard, yet more intrigued about why she might have misunderstood.
