C10 Silly Female Lead 10

Didn't this person realize that last night was a 'Grand Banquet'? It was clear that he knew, given the way he stopped mid-sentence!

Her eyebrows quivered slightly, her face etched with a mix of grievance and helplessness. "Why bother going? It's just self-degradation."

"What?"

Han Kun was confused.

Fengye didn't wait for him to process, continuing, "Initially, I thought he was upset with me for going abroad. I felt guilty about it and believed there might be a chance for us to mend things. That's why I kept after him. But he made his rejection clear the other night, so there's no point in trying to maintain a relationship."

"Also, my mother mentioned that Fu Yunfei invited her over to meet someone. Coincidentally, I've heard that Lin Huanhuan is already living at his place. I suspect the person he wants to introduce is Lin Huanhuan."

"What do you think the situation will be like if my mother goes?"

She sighed. To call Fu Yunfei bad didn't quite fit; in Su Lan's memories, he wasn't all that terrible. It seemed more like Su Lan was the one clinging to him, pushing him.

Yet, on this issue, it's undeniable that Fu Yunfei was out of line.

Of course, Su Lan had her own issues. Despite what happened when Senior Mrs. Su visited the Fu family, she still held onto hope for Fu Yunfei.

That was Su Lan's tragedy and her most foolish aspect.

If Su Lan's account was accurate, then Lin Huanhuan was indeed invited to dinner last night. But if Fu Yunfei's invitation to Senior Mrs. Su was as it seemed, then there was a significant problem.

"Su Lan, could you have misunderstood Yunfei's intentions?"

"Misunderstood?" Fengye replied with a bitter laugh, "If you think it's a misunderstanding, then let's leave it at that."

She went on, "By the way, please refrain from contacting me in the future."

Upon hearing this, Han Kun's thoughtful expression turned to one of annoyance. "Su Lan, what are you trying to say? By talking like this, are you saying we can't even be friends?"

Fengye paused, took a deep breath, and turned to face Han Kun.

Their eyes met, and she said deliberately, "As for me, unless it's unavoidable, I have no intention of interacting with Fu Yunfei. You're close to him, so surely we can't spend every encounter discussing him, can we?"

After speaking, her expression dimmed. "Or do you enjoy hitting where it hurts? Does my unhappiness bring you joy?"

"How can you say that…" Han Kun tried to explain, but the woman in front of him simply wouldn't listen.

The clicking of her high heels on the ground quickened.

Han Kun followed her for a few steps, watching her walk away in a huff. He realized that catching up would be pointless as he had nothing to say, so he reluctantly stopped.

He pulled out his phone, intending to call Fu Yunfei, but he hung up before the call went through.

With Su Lan acting this way, she probably wouldn't bother him anymore, which was a relief. It wouldn't do to upset Su Lan and then add to Fu Yunfei's troubles with a phone call.

After laying all their cards on the table, a hush seemed to fall over everything.

Fengye kept herself busy. She had blocked Fu Yunfei's number and all other ways of contacting her since that day.

Han Kun had tried to call her several times, but she never answered.

And so, half a year slipped by. The Su family's villa in the Jin Hu District was listed for sale and rent.

The Su family's villa buzzed with activity as people came and went, moving their belongings.

Having blocked Fu Yunfei, Fengye began house hunting.

She purchased a quaint villa on the outskirts of a renowned scenic area, complete with mountains and rivers. Naturally, it was much smaller than the Su family's grand estate, and the commute to the city center took over two hours—longer if traffic was bad.
