C12 Silly Girl 12

Whenever she brought up her concerns, he would engage in discussion with her and assure her that he would handle them.

However, over the past six months, since she was still in school, they had postponed getting their marriage certificate and lived like any other married couple.

Reflecting on the period when Su Lan was causing trouble, it now seemed like the time when they were most intimate. They were united against the world, sharing their deepest thoughts and feelings. Yet, after Su Lan's departure, the fiery passion between them appeared to have slowly diminished.

He used to smile at her whenever he came home from work.

And she would always feel a warmth in her heart when she looked at him.

But now, for some reason, things had changed.

As Lin Huanhuan pondered this, the image of another person came to mind.

The man stood in the sunlight, looking at her with the gentle demeanor of the boy next door, "Back from grocery shopping?"

"What's wrong?"

Fu Yunfei's voice snapped Lin Huanhuan out of her reverie.

She shook her head, clearing the image from her thoughts, "Nothing."

She looked at him, hesitated for a moment, but couldn't resist asking, "The Su family moved away because of Su Lan, didn't they?"

Seeing that Fu Yunfei remained silent, with a seemingly normal expression, she continued somewhat vacantly, "It seems she still can't let go of you. I feel like I've wronged her. Now that she's gone, she won't have to see us every day..."

"Huanhuan."

Fu Yunfei cut her off, "I haven't been in contact with Su Lan for half a year."

Lin Huanhuan was taken aback, her heart fluttering with unease. It took her a few seconds to respond, "I know, I trust you. It's just that you and Su Lan grew up together. Even though you don't have feelings for her anymore, but..."

"Huanhuan," Fu Yunfei interjected with a furrowed brow, "Don't overthink it. I understand Su Lan's temperament. If she hadn't moved on, she wouldn't be this composed."

"Understand?" Lin Huanhuan looked at him, a trace of incredulity in her eyes, "You understand her, but do you understand me?"

After placing the basket on the table, she ascended the stairs.

Fu Yunfei watched her retreat, massaging his temples with a sense of growing headache.

Lin Huanhuan was gentle by nature, yet sensitive. This sensitivity seemed to intensify after they had made their relationship official, and he often felt worn out because of it.

In her room, Lin Huanhuan sat hugging her knees, feeling slighted.

"I get it, she's his childhood sweetheart and fiancée. But where does that leave me?" she murmured, tears betraying her as they trickled down her cheeks.

Fu Yunfei hesitated for a moment before heading upstairs to comfort her.

Once appeased, Lin Huanhuan's spirits lifted. Nestled in Fu Yunfei's embrace, she felt a heartwarming fullness, as if reconnecting with a once-familiar sentiment.

What she failed to notice was the weary expression etched on the face of the man holding her.

Moving into a new home was a joyous occasion.

Senior Mrs. Su and Senior Mr. Su were particularly fond of Fengye's new house. Their appreciation grew after sampling the delightful dishes at a nearby farmhouse eatery.

Consequently, the chef from the farmhouse was chosen to cater the housewarming feast.

The guest list was modest, comprising a few close friends of Senior Mrs. Su and several family relatives.

Despite the rift between Fu Yunfei and Su Lan, Fu Yunfei's mother still kept in touch with Senior Mrs. Su.

With her daughter's consent, Senior Mrs. Su extended an invitation to Fu Yunfei's mother for a meal.

Naturally, the Han family was also on the guest list.

The new room provided a very comfortable night's sleep. Of course, her main residence would be the city apartment, but it was still undergoing renovations, so she would have to wait a bit longer.
