C13 Silly Girl 13

I had to stay with Senior Mrs. Su and Senior Mr. Su during this time. By the time I finished handling the company's business in my room, it was already four in the afternoon. The Su family's enterprises aren't very extensive, but the most significant is their entertainment company, SuXing Entertainment.

The Fu family's business revolves around e-commerce, and they had recently engaged a celebrity from SuXing Entertainment to endorse their new product. Su Lan was aware of this. Since it was a lucrative and respectable endorsement, she handled it with her usual professionalism.

However, the last person she wanted to see or interact with was Fu Yunfei.

The more Su Lan recalled her interactions with Lin Huanhuan, the more she realized that Lin was far from simple. She appeared weak and fragile, seemingly lacking a backbone, which is why she told Fu Yunfei everything. Yet, this very vulnerability and sense of grievance were her most potent weapons.

What Lin might consider harmless could take on a different meaning once it reached Fu Yunfei's ears.

After stretching lazily, Fengye shut her laptop and meandered downstairs. It wasn't until she saw the dozen or so guests in the hall that she remembered the dinner party scheduled for today.

Glancing at her casual home attire and her disheveled hair, she realized she was underdressed for the occasion.

The hall fell silent for a moment until Senior Mrs. Su, with a gentle gesture, beckoned, "Lanlan, go change into something more suitable."

Touching her nose sheepishly, Fengye turned and headed back upstairs to change. She had noticed that all the guests Senior Mrs. Su had invited were already there. She planned to join them for dinner and then excuse herself to return to her room under the pretense of work.

Now dressed in an outfit that was both comfortable and presentable, Fengye descended the stairs once more. With Senior Mrs. Su's soothing voice in the background, she greeted each of the elders downstairs.

Senior Mrs. Su watched her polite and well-behaved daughter with a sense of pride.

After spending some time chatting with the aunts and uncles, Fengye found an excuse to slip away to the courtyard for a breather.

Stepping outside, she immediately noticed a sports car in the parking spot. The man behind the wheel removed his sunglasses and gave her a wave.

Fengye frowned at him and inquired, "Since when did you take an interest in gatherings for the elderly?"

"What elderly?" Han Kun stepped out of the car and remarked, "Isn't your family hosting a housewarming party for relatives and friends?"

He seemed nonchalant, but Fengye didn't appreciate his tone. She retorted, "Are you considered a relative or friend?"

Han Kun was momentarily at a loss for words, but quickly recovered. Tapping Fengye's head with his sunglasses, he protested, "Come on, it's been half a year since we last spoke. Can't we speak more politely? Don't I deserve some respect?"

Fengye couldn't be bothered to engage with him.

Yet, he persisted, "Truth is, I've missed you. Let's bury the hatchet. I'm sincere about this. From now on, I'll make sure to get the full story before I say anything, especially regarding what Su Lan tells me. I won't do or say anything to upset you again. How does that sound?"

Fengye eyed him, feeling little anger inside. His words, however, elicited a disdainful snort from her.

She was somewhat haughty but remained silent, signaling to Han Kun that she was indeed not angry anymore.

After chatting for a bit, another vehicle pulled up.

The black sedan was understated and at first glance, unremarkable. But a closer look revealed it was a model of luxury that seemed out of reach for most.

Noticing the license plate, Han Kun felt a jolt of unease and instinctively glanced at Fengye.

As expected, her face, which had held a trace of a smile, now sank into a frown.

Though her expression wasn't harsh, it was enough to convey a sense of chill and detachment.
