C15 Silly Girl 15

Feeling Wronged?

What exactly was she feeling wronged about?

She claimed she came to apologize, yet her voice was laden with a sense of injustice. It almost sounded as if she was the victim of bullying.

She hadn't had any dealings with Fu Yunfei for six months, and she had made her position clear back then. So why did she seem to believe that she was upset because Fu Yunfei had moved?

What was her purpose in coming here today?

To boast? To flaunt her power?

Even though it was cloaked in a guise of feeling wronged, the intention was clear, wasn't it?

Her senses were not like those of ordinary people; she could distinctly perceive Lin Huanhuan's mindset.

The moment she laid eyes on her, seeing her vibrant and composed, barely acknowledging her, she felt dwarfed by her commanding presence.

When she spoke, it seemed to be a spur-of-the-moment reaction, but it was evident that she intended to needle her. Yet, in her own heart, she reassured herself that she was merely speaking the truth.

Regarding the apology, the twinge of remorse she felt was not really remorse—it was a clear sense of being aggrieved.

She was the one apologizing, yet she was the one feeling aggrieved.

This woman was truly intriguing.

She had encountered deceivers before, but never someone who was deceiving themselves while harboring ill will.

Lin Huanhuan watched her walk away, murmuring softly, "I don't know how to comfort you, but with matters of the heart, there's no easy solution. I just hope you won't take it too personally. When I first saw you on the street, I didn't realize you were..."

She trailed off as the woman abruptly turned around.

Lin Huanhuan paused, staring at her face, lost in thought. Why was it not as she had expected?

Different? What was different?

She wasn't heartbroken or frustrated. It seemed as if she hadn't heard a word Lin Huanhuan had just said.

Suddenly, Lin Huanhuan didn't know what to say, as if the emotions she had been nurturing had vanished into thin air.

What's more, the other woman was looking at her with a mix of fascination and novelty.

It was as if she had seen through something. Seen through what? If one conducts oneself with integrity, there's nothing to fear from being seen.

Upon taking another look, it seemed as though she was being mocked.

A sense of restlessness rose in Lin Huanhuan's heart, and she suddenly regretted coming to 'persuade' her. She had already humbled herself enough, but it was all for naught; the other party didn't even acknowledge her efforts, and to make matters worse, she was met with such a disdainful gaze.

She was furious. She hadn't found Su Lan particularly bothersome before, but now, she absolutely loathed her!

Yet, the angrier she got, the more amused the other person seemed to be.

Lin Huanhuan felt an urge to escape. Being watched by the woman in front of her felt like an execution.

But she wasn't in the wrong. Why should she flee?

Her mind raced with thoughts until Han Kun, returning to the scene, interrupted their silent confrontation.

"What's wrong?" Han Kun asked, noticing Lin Huanhuan's reddened eyes and Fengye's amused expression. He was bewildered and at a loss.

"Ask her," Fengye said curtly, glancing at the sunlight above: "The weather's quite nice. It's dusk now, and the sun isn't as harsh. I'm going out for a bit of exercise."

With those words, Fengye left without waiting for Han Kun and Lin Huanhuan to snap out of their daze.

Han Kun glanced between Lin Huanhuan and the departing Fengye. Almost instinctively, he followed in Fengye's steps.

Before he went, he turned back to Lin Huanhuan and informed her, "Yunfei is inside; he should be out shortly."

Once outside, Fengye finally addressed Han Kun, "Aren't you going to offer her some comfort?"
