C18 Silly Girl 18

Witnessing Fu Yunfei's faintly mocking expression, she had an epiphany.

"I finally understand why you and Lin Huanhuan are such a perfect match. You're truly made for each other..."

Listening to her, Fu Yunfei couldn't help feeling a bit sour. He was about to respond when the woman in front of him continued, "Rest assured, I'd have to be blind to give you a second glance. I have a thing about cleanliness, and whatever you and Lin Huanhuan have done, I've lost all interest."

She paused for a brief moment before spitting out two words with disdain: "Repulsive!"

"Su Lan!" He advanced, his hand raised in a surge of unexpected fury.

He was the cherished only son of the Fu family, a man of high society.

No one had ever called him dirty, nor had anyone ever dared to.

Every woman who had met him had admired him. Had this woman forgotten how she once pleaded for his attention?

Fengye might have forgotten, but she was aware.

Yet he had forgotten, especially after this woman had just grabbed his collar and warned him.

But before his hand could fall, it was intercepted by a delicate grip.

"Thinking of hitting me?" Her eyes narrowed, a lethal intent rising within them. It was unmistakable, and Fu Yunfei was certain he wasn't mistaken.

"Fu Yunfei, now that I see things clearly, I actually feel sorry for Su Lan. How she ever saw anything in you is beyond me."

"Su Lan..." His words were clenched in his teeth, but before he could continue, a sharp sound rang by his ear, and something struck his left cheek.

"Smack!" The sound of a palm meeting his cheek.

The stinging on his cheek served as a harsh reminder of the recent events.

Fengye shook her hand and stepped back, "Fu Yunfei, you're the one with a problem. Don't project it onto others."

As she turned to leave, she caught sight of a white figure standing at the end of the path.

Lin Huanhuan was clenching her fingers, struggling to believe what she had just witnessed. She had actually seen Su Lan strike Fu Yunfei.

Why? Why would Fu Yunfei allow her to hit him?

Lost in her confusion, Fengye had already approached her.

Her haughty demeanor and scornful gaze caused Lin Huanhuan to take two fearful steps back.

Ignoring the sting on her face, Fu Yunfei blurted out angrily, "Su Lan, if you dare lay a finger on Huanhuan..."

"And what if I do?" Su Lan turned, her face the picture of serenity, yet her words dripped with disdain.

For a moment, Fu Yunfei was at a loss for words.

"Pitiful and frail? Are those your weapons?" Su Lan sneered. "I have no interest in tormenting you. After all, when a rabid dog bites, you don't bite back, do you?"

Lin Huanhuan shuddered, tears streaming down her face. "It was you who went too far. I remember everything. You left Yunfei and went abroad when the Fu family was on the brink of bankruptcy, abandoning him. Now that the Fu family is thriving, you come crawling back, you..."

"Huanhuan!" Fu Yunfei's shout cut her off.

Lin Huanhuan looked at him, her eyes brimming with hurt.

"I wasn't firm enough back then, but I have no regrets..." The woman's voice softened considerably.

Fengye closed her eyes, listening to the words Su Lan had meant to say herself.

Back then, she lacked the courage to topple the Su family. The deeds of Senior Mr. Su and Senior Mrs. Su were, in their way, an attempt to shield their children.

Had Su Lan remained, what would she have done? Could she have turned a blind eye to Fu Yunfei's plight?
