C2 Silly Girl 2
Chapter Two
"Why did he misunderstand?" she asked.
"Because..." She drew out her words, "Because I was his girlfriend."
As Lin Huanhuan's face lost its color, she clarified, "His ex-girlfriend."
The memories were vivid in her mind: the Fu family had been trapped in a scheme that tied up all their capital, leading to bankruptcy and a complete loss of assets.
At that point, the Su family decided that the Fu family was no longer a suitable match, and they planned to send their daughter abroad. Su Lan, having her own reasons, agreed.
Though they never explicitly broke up, it was an unspoken understanding between them.
So yes, she was the ex-girlfriend.
But how to explain last night's events? That was a headache.
Ex-girlfriend or not, Lin Huanhuan's expression didn't improve, especially since Fu Yunfei had never mentioned the existence of this 'ex-girlfriend.'
The air was thick with awkwardness between them for a moment.
Fortunately, Han Kun was quick to act. His arrival cut through the tension as he hurried into the room.
Relieved to see both women safe in the ward, Han Kun cleared his throat. "Ahem, Su Lan, what happened here?"
He gave a knowing look, his features comically twisted but not frightening, more amusing than anything. "How did you end up bringing someone to the hospital?"
"What do you mean 'bringing someone to the hospital'?" she retorted, pointing to her blanket. "Mr. Han, kindly notice who's the one lying in the hospital bed."
Han Kun paused, his gaze shifting to Lin Huanhuan. "She has that kind of ability?" he questioned in disbelief.
After a brief pause, he shook his head, "No, really, what exactly happened?"
"Brother Han, I ran into her on the street yesterday. She was caught in the rain and got sick, so I..."
Lin Huanhuan offered another earnest explanation.
Fengye sighed and began to pull the needle from the back of her hand.
"Hey, you can't..." Lin Huanhuan started to intervene, but before she could finish, Fengye had already removed the needle.
Fengye held down the needle and rose to slip on her shoes.
Her clothes from yesterday were soaked, leaving her in a white hospital gown.
She furrowed her brow and turned to Han Kun, "Could you run to the nearest mall and pick up a new outfit for me?"
"Ah, this..."
Noticing his hesitation, Fengye slipped her foot into the disposable slippers by the bed with a hint of displeasure, "Never mind, I'll go myself."
She climbed out of bed and inquired, "Lin Huanhuan, where's my purse?"
Lin Huanhuan swiftly retrieved a black handbag from the bedside drawer.
Fengye rummaged through it and, as expected, found her phone unresponsive due to water damage.
She extracted the card and cash, then nonchalantly tossed the phone into the nearby trash can.
"Come on, let's get the discharge process started."
Lin Huanhuan was dumbfounded by Fengye's swift and decisive actions.
Yet, there was a snag with the discharge.
The hospital required the return of the gown, but Fengye's own clothes were still damp from the night before and unwearable.
Ultimately, Lin Huanhuan went out to a local store and bought her a new ensemble.
Han Kun's mouth twitched as he observed the woman now donning a long dress adorned with large peonies.
How had Su Lan's fashion sense seemingly transformed overnight?
In the past, she wouldn't have even considered wearing such attire!
