C10 Remember My Words!
Yeh Lin sat in the front passenger seat, while Ye Zhenzhen was in the back. Mr. Hsu and Yeh Sen were laid out in the space before the seats, staining the Italian handmade carpet with blood.
With no room left in the car, the others climbed into the hearse. Just as the engine roared to life, explosions erupted. First, the Maybach went up, followed by the BMW, each blast sending car parts flying, clattering onto the convoy's roof. Everyone covered their ears.
In the blazing inferno, Mr. Bing's expression was grim, as if he hadn't expected the girl's prediction to come true. Yeh Lin, however, sat inside, watching the chaos with a cold detachment, a flicker of light in his eyes.
Ye Zhenzhen held her breath, peering out the window. The fiery spectacle outside was like something out of a movie. Her heartbeat pounded like a war drum, and she realized that the nightmare that had haunted her countless nights might finally be rewritten.
Remarkably, aside from the destroyed cars, there were no casualties. The flames reflected in her eyes, burning with determination. Fate had spared her, and she vowed not to live in humiliation any longer.
Yeh Lin glanced back, her silhouette etched in his mind, framed by the flames like a phoenix rising from the ashes, proud and resilient.
In a heartbeat, the convoy sped away from the explosion site. At the next junction, another group of cars awaited, ready for Yeh Lin to join them.
"Remember what I said!" he warned Ye Zhenzhen once more, opening the door to leave.
"Wait!" Ye Zhenzhen's eyes showed a flicker of struggle, but she called out to him nonetheless.
Yeh Lin had already stepped out of the car and turned back with a hint of impatience, signaling her to speak quickly.
“Wait until I get out, and I'll tell you!” Ye Zhenzhen glanced at the driver, feeling it wasn’t safe, then opened the car door and joined him. Standing beside him, she rose on her tiptoes and whispered in his ear, “There's a mole among the people you brought. Watch out for Mr. Bing!”
Yeh Lin's eyebrows furrowed instantly, his gaze turning icy. The hidden handgun was raised again, pressing against Ye Zhenzhen's temple.
“Do you know what you're saying?”
His voice was bloodthirsty and menacing, as if he wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger if she said the wrong thing.
Despite her pale face, Ye Zhenzhen lifted her chin to meet his gaze. No one understood this man's ruthlessness better than she did, and no one knew his methods more clearly. So, even if there was a mole, he would still achieve his goal in the end.
Since the outcome would be the same, why not earn some goodwill from him at the start?
Only she knew how valuable Mr. Yeh’s favor would be in the future.
“From the beginning until now, you can judge for yourself if what I’ve said is true. You don’t have time to waste here, and neither does your brother! So, you should let me go!”
Ye Zhenzhen's words were calm, her eyes cold and unflinching.
Yeh Lin's gaze lingered on her face for a moment before he lowered his gun and walked away. “Remember, your life is in my hands now!”
With that, he left decisively, his stride brisk and unwavering.
Ye Zhenzhen watched his retreating figure before getting back into the car.
In this lifetime, she had crossed paths with him immediately after being reborn. Who knew if that was good or bad?
At the intersection, the black Range Rover convoy turned left, while the black Bentley went right, each moving further away.
The Bentley’s driver had already contacted the hospital, so when they arrived, a stretcher and emergency personnel were ready to meet them, taking Mr. Hsu and Yeh Sen into the emergency room.
The driver, also dressed in a black suit, watched as the young master entered the emergency room, looking increasingly restless. Ye Zhenzhen noticed his demeanor and said directly, "If you want to leave now to be with your boss, go ahead. I've got things covered here!"
The driver glanced at Ye Zhenzhen with some doubt, seemingly weighing whether he could just leave the second young master behind.
"My life is still tied to Yeh Lin, isn't it?" Ye Zhenzhen remarked with a hint of sarcasm, prompting the driver to finally take his leave.
