C14 Yeh Sen Died!!

"Quiet!" Ye Zhenzhen's voice suddenly turned cold and sharp. "You all need to leave. No need to call the police. He's just a bit agitated from PTSD. Let us have a moment alone."

She gestured behind her, signaling the doctors to hurry out.

"Five minutes, that's all you have to talk!" The doctors and nurses quickly exited the emergency room, but the doctor who had warned Yeh Sen couldn't help but issue another caution, "Any longer, and who knows what might happen."

Ye Zhenzhen gave an OK sign, and soon, only the two of them remained in the room.

"Who are you?"

Yeh Sen's eyes were as piercing as a hawk's, scrutinizing Ye Zhenzhen, unsure of her identity.

A fleeting hint of sarcasm crossed Ye Zhenzhen's eyes; both brothers asked the same question.

"Your brother asked me to look after you."

She chose the least problematic answer, one that would establish her as trustworthy.

"Did he know the car was tampered with?!" Yeh Sen's brow furrowed, his gaze icy as he questioned her.

"I'm really not sure about that because I was just the person you hit with that car and survived," Ye Zhenzhen replied, surprised that Yeh Sen knew about the tampering. To avoid getting involved in their family's complicated affairs, she opted for the simplest answer again.

"Then how did you meet my brother?!" Yeh Sen's brow furrowed deeper, and he was starting to feel dizzy, his vision blurring.

"His team happened to pass by. I sought help to rescue you and my driver, and that's how I met him. Then your brother asked me to take care of you, saying, 'If you survive, then I can survive too!'" Ye Zhenzhen explained succinctly, focusing on the fact that she saved him.

Since Yeh Sen was alive, letting him believe she saved his life seemed harmless.

The knife Yeh Sen held eased slightly from Ye Zhenzhen's neck; it was indeed something his brother would say.

His gaze was unpredictable, as if he was pondering something.

"Are you really going to waste your five minutes on questions or silence? Since you're not talking, I'll take the lead!" Ye Zhenzhen asserted, taking control of the conversation. "You've been brought to the hospital after a serious car accident. Just because you're awake doesn't mean everything's fine. You need to cooperate with the doctors, understand?"

She was about to continue persuading him when Yeh Sen abruptly interrupted her with a harsh tone, "You have no idea how important the things I need to do are. I have to get out of here!"

"What could possibly be more important than your life? If you lose it, you won't be able to do anything at all! Internal injuries can seem fine one moment and then turn fatal the next!"

"Your recklessness has serious consequences, you know? Not only could you die, but you might also endanger others!" Ye Zhenzhen shouted at him, clearly frustrated. If it weren't for him, her life wouldn't be such a mess.

And now, he was recklessly ignoring everything again! It was infuriating!

Yeh Sen was taken aback, not expecting someone he had cornered to yell at him like that. Her eyes, filled with such sadness, stirred something in him.

Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly coughed up blood and collapsed in front of Ye Zhenzhen, unable to support himself any longer. As he fell, his hand, which held a scalpel, inadvertently slashed her neck, leaving a deeper wound.

She was too stunned to feel the pain, staring blankly at Yeh Sen. Was he really going to die, just like she had said?

Ye Zhenzhen felt her world crumbling once more. When did her words become so prophetic? If Yeh Sen died, should she start praying for Yeh Lin to have an accident next?

Doctors outside heard the commotion and rushed in, immediately assessing Yeh Sen's critical condition and beginning treatment with various instruments.

Ye Zhenzhen's neck wound was severe, so the nurse promptly took her to the emergency room. She numbly allowed the doctor to administer anesthesia and begin stitching her wound, her mind racing with thoughts of what might happen if Yeh Sen really died.

Yeh Lin's words echoed in her mind: if he lives, she lives; if he dies, she dies.

What a nightmare! Should she just make a run for it now?

Just as she was about to jump off the hospital bed, the anesthesia kicked in. Her vision went dark, and she slipped into unconsciousness.
