C5 I must Save Him!!
"Miss, it's no use!" Mr. Hsu's voice was filled with despair. "You need to leave now; it's too dangerous!"
Ye Zhenzhen didn't reply, fiercely pulling at the car door, but it wouldn't budge.
At her feet, gasoline was leaking from the tank, forming a growing puddle that was almost at her shoes, the smell nauseating.
She forced herself to calm down, reminding herself to stay composed. Panic wouldn't solve anything.
Ten years ago, in a similar accident, she was too young and naive to know what to do, helplessly watching tragedy unfold.
Now, back at the nightmare's beginning, she was no longer that sheltered girl. She wouldn't let history repeat itself.
She had to save Mr. Hsu!
Time was running out!
Ye Zhenzhen quickly opened the trunk, found a hammer, and rushed back to the BMW, smashing the window with all her might.
Ignoring the risk of cuts, she reached in and finally managed to unlock the door.
Her pale fingers were immediately covered in blood, but she seemed oblivious to the pain.
Such cuts would have made her cry out ten years ago.
But now, the hardships she'd endured made these "little injuries" insignificant.
Without hesitation, she punctured the airbag, grabbed Mr. Hsu's arm, and tried to pull him out.
Just then—
A long convoy of black SUVs sped down the road, exuding an air of oppressive mystery.
Noticing the accident ahead, the lead driver picked up the radio, "Leo, there's a crash up ahead. Should we reroute?"
In the second-to-last vehicle, a stretch Bentley, a middle-aged man in a black suit with a white flower on his lapel picked up the radio and pondered, "Does it block the road?"
"The cars are off to the side, no obstruction!" the lead driver replied.
"Then let's not change course; we can't afford to delay the trip!" the man in the suit said, placing the phone back on the dashboard. Matters of life and death were things they had long become indifferent to, feeling there was no need to dwell on such things.
After speaking, he glanced toward the back seat of the car. The man in black sitting by the window remained as still as an ice sculpture, seemingly uninterested in anything happening around him. Sunlight streamed through the car window but failed to melt the chill surrounding him. His perfectly chiseled features appeared as if carved from ice, devoid of warmth. Everything around him seemed frozen, even his eyes, which gazed indifferently out the window, never blinking.
Like all the men in the convoy, he wore a white flower pinned to his chest. The only difference was the mourning band on his right arm, black with white embroidery, stark and striking.
Suddenly—
There was a disturbance ahead in the convoy.
"Screech—"
"Screech—"
The sharp sound of brakes pierced the air. The black Range Rover convoy came to an abrupt halt. Despite the suddenness, the cars maintained perfect spacing.
In front of the convoy stood a girl who had suddenly dashed out. Dressed in a white blouse and floral skirt, she stood with arms outstretched, blocking the way. Beneath her neat bangs were delicate features, but her eyes were the most striking—dark as the deepest night, yet they shone with a lightning-like intensity, capable of piercing the darkness with determination and fervor.
The window of the lead car rolled down, and the driver yelled, "Are you crazy?!"
"Please, can you help save someone?!" Ye Zhenzhen hurried to the window, looking desperately at the people inside, pleading. She had no way to pull Mr. Hsu out herself, as the front of the car was severely deformed, trapping him inside.
Hearing the car engine behind her, she realized she should try to flag it down.
“What’s going on?!” a cold voice suddenly questioned over the driver’s radio. “Didn’t you say it wouldn’t affect traffic?!”
“Someone just ran out to stop the car, asking for help!” the driver quickly responded into the radio.
“What kind of help? At most, call the police. They’ll handle it!” The voice on the radio sounded impatient.
“Please, just help get the person out of the car. It won’t take long! I’m begging you, I can’t do it alone!” Ye Zhenzhen pleaded desperately. She noticed that the car was filled with young men, all in black suits with white flowers pinned to their chests. The atmosphere seemed strange, but she had no other choice.
The lead driver hesitated.
“Are you out of your mind, Nails? Drive on, and if anyone else tries to stop you, just keep going!” The voice on the radio grew stern, echoing in Ye Zhenzhen’s ears.
