Ye Tongtong and Liu Yiyan were both admitted to their favorite school, but they were not together. Liu Yiyan was at Central South University in the south, while Ye Tongtong was admitted to Yan Jing University in the far north.

Both universities were top national universities, but Yan Jing University was slightly better than Central South University in ranking between them
