Most of the students brought their own steamed buns to eat at noon. They rarely chose to buy food from the kitchen because the price was a bit expensive.

Other than steamed buns, some students would take some dishes, while the poorer students would not take any dishes. No matter what kind of food the students brought, they could bring it to the kitchen for the cook to heat it up for free
