C2 He Made Plans from the Long Term
However, Qin Su didn't rush in with a hot head. Instead, she chose to be patient, pondering the best way to resolve the situation. She couldn't let her mom get upset—heart disease is no joke—and she definitely couldn't let Boss Qin and that woman outside get away with it. She needed a plan to ensure Boss Qin left with nothing. This time, he wouldn't get a dime to support someone else.
"Sweetie, what are you thinking about? You're so lost in thought."
Qin Guangjun had no idea that the daughter he was trying so hard to please was actually plotting how to kick him out with nothing.
"Nothing."
Even with all her composure, Qin Su couldn't put on a good face for a man who had a mistress and drove her mom to despair. She rushed into the bathroom, splashing cold water on her face repeatedly. It felt like she was reborn. Yes, she was reborn. After a brief moment of confusion, Qin Su finally realized she had gone back in time.
Looking at her face in the mirror, which was now ten years younger, Qin Su cried. Heaven had given her another chance to start over. This time, she would set things right. Everything was still possible. The cards were reshuffled, and she was the one holding all the aces.
Boss Qin, Mistress Meng, just watch how I blow you both away.
Qin Guangjun, still bewildered and covered in dust, frowned at the tightly closed bathroom door. What was up with his daughter today? Something felt off, but he couldn't figure out why. Had he done something to upset her?
During dinner, Qin Guangjun kept piling food onto Qin Su's plate, hoping to get a smile out of her. Unfortunately, she didn't give him the chance. She took the meat he placed in her bowl and transferred it to her mom, Hsing Guizhen's, bowl.
"Mom, you should eat more. You need to keep your strength up; you've lost weight recently."
Hsing Guizhen chuckled, "Oh? What's gotten into my daughter today? Did the sun rise in the west? She's actually showing concern for her mom."
Qin Su beamed at Hsing Guizhen, "Your daughter is all grown up now! Isn't it nice that I care about you?"
"Yes, yes, who would say otherwise?"
Qin Guangjun finally realized his daughter was giving him the cold shoulder. He kept his head down, shoveling food into his mouth, wondering when he had upset his little princess and how he could make it right.
That night, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
"What did you do to upset our daughter? She's been ignoring you all evening."
"You noticed too?"
Qin Guangjun turned on the bedside lamp, fumbled around for a cigarette, and mumbled, "I have no idea what I did to make her mad."
Qin Su was also lying awake. It felt like a dream all night, worried she'd wake up and find it was all just a dream. Finally meeting her mom, she naively thought it was better to stay awake than to wake up and find herself back in the past.
Wearing a Winnie the Pooh tank top, Qin Su intended to grab a drink of water from the living room. As she passed by the sofa, she noticed someone standing on the balcony, startling her. It turned out to be her dad.
“Hey, sweetheart, can't sleep? Come on over, let's have a chat,” Qin Guangjun said, spotting his beloved daughter. He stubbed out his cigarette, hoping for a late-night heart-to-heart. It was a nice idea, but it seemed unlikely at the moment because Qin Su wasn’t in the mood.
“What's there to talk about at this hour? I'm tired, I'm going to wash up and sleep.”
“Did I do something to upset you?” Qin Guangjun wondered, trying to figure out when he might have annoyed his precious daughter.
“Dad, you're overthinking it. You didn't upset me. I've just been feeling a bit down lately, nothing to do with you,” Qin Su held back, knowing now wasn’t the time to argue.
“Oh! Well, how about this? Tomorrow's Saturday. How about I take you out for a bit?”
Qin Su paused for a moment, as if a sudden inspiration had struck her, lifting her spirits. She flashed a rare smile at Qin Guangjun. "No need, I'm feeling better now."
Well, she's grown up, and her moods are as changeable as the weather.
