C8 Bleeding
"Do you still remember the customs of Azure Mountain Village?" Sheng Tianjiao asked, puzzled.
"I heard her brothers are all sick. It's such a shame. I'm really worried people will start calling her a jinx, blaming her for bringing bad luck to the family even after she's gone... ah..." Sheng Tianjiao's words were cut off as she suddenly cried out in pain.
Something had struck the corner of her mouth.
"Ah... blood..." She touched her mouth and found it bleeding.
"What happened to me?" she wondered aloud, feeling something brush past her, followed by a sharp pain at her mouth's edge.
"A small cut..." Right at the corner...
Sheng Tianjiao shrieked, "How did this happen?"
"Get me to a doctor, quickly."
Sheng Nanzhen thought she would run into Yang Shuxian, but they were heading downhill instead. Were they planning to take the shortcut?
She watched as Yang Shuxian carried Sheng Tianjiao away.
Sheng Nanzhen tossed another small stone their way.
Yang Shuxian felt something trip him up, causing him to lose balance and drop the person he was carrying.
"Ah... Mr. Xian, you..." Sheng Tianjiao landed face-first in the dirt.
Yang Shuxian, unsure of what just happened, blamed the grass on the slope. "There's too much grass down here. Let's take the upper path."
He had thought carrying someone uphill would be tough, but going downhill turned out to be even harder.
As the two of them struggled up the embankment, they suddenly noticed someone standing there.
Tianjiao nearly screamed, "A ghost!"
She covered her right cheek with one hand and clung tightly to Yang Shuxian with the other.
"Nanzhen." Yang Shuxian was startled too, but it was broad daylight—unlikely they'd see a ghost.
Tianjiao felt guilty, her face hurt, and her body was trembling slightly.
Yang Shuxian spoke up first.
Nanzhen said, "Didn't expect to run into you here."
"Aren't you... gone?" Tianjiao asked, trying to hide her guilt and pain.
Nanzhen smiled slightly, "I thought we were good friends. Do you really wish I were dead?"
"No, no... it's not that. I... I'm hurt, my face is bleeding. I need to take care of it."
Nanzhen replied, "Did you do something wrong? Is this karma?"
Tianjiao would never admit to anything, even if Nanzhen accused her of pushing her into the water.
She shook her head vigorously.
"That's not it," Yang Shuxian said. "Nanzhen, I thought you had an accident and were gone, so..."
What a jerk! Is he really trying to explain why he's with Tianjiao?
Tianjiao thought of something but was afraid the person in front of her might actually be a ghost. She quickly said, "Zhen, I thought something happened to you, so I decided to be with Mr. Xian in your place. I didn't expect... you... I..."
"Well, you two should just be together then," Sheng Nanzhen said.
"Perfect match! You deserve each other."
Yang Shuxian frowned slightly. "Nanzhen, do you really not care? I thought we'd be separated forever, and it broke my heart... Luckily, Jiao was here to comfort me."
Comfort, with her body!
Sheng Nanzhen nodded.
Sheng Tianjiao was in unbearable pain. She just wanted to find a doctor as soon as possible. Tugging at Yang Shuxian, she said, "Hurry up and take me to a doctor."
If her face was ruined, it would be the end!
Yang Shuxian offered, "Nanzhen, why don't you come with us to see the doctor?"
"I'm perfectly fine. Why would I need a doctor?"
