C7 Jobhopping

As the buzz around "Redemption" started to wane, Shan Ruoshui made headlines with even bigger news: she left the SSL group, terminated her contract with MQ, and joined Fang to become a solo artist. This news was even more sensational than the last. Fang is one of the biggest entertainment companies in the country, a step above MQ! Moreover, Shan Ruoshui paid a hefty penalty to switch to Fang, a sum that Fang covered for her. What talent does Shan Ruoshui possess to earn Fang's favor?

On TV, Su Tian and Liu Xinrui were tearfully offering backhanded congratulations to Shan Ruoshui for finding a better company, while subtly accusing her of stepping on her long-time partners to climb higher.

In the dimly lit living room, Shan Ruoshui's expression was unreadable in the glow of the TV as she sipped sweet honey water, her eyes filled with deep disdain.

"I can't believe your former teammates are like that. It's amazing you survived there for so long," Gu Ya remarked from the other end of the couch, swirling the last of Shan Ruoshui's wine in a glass, releasing its rich aroma.

"Yeah, it's pretty incredible I managed to live among them for so long," Shan Ruoshui replied, recalling the farewell note left forgotten in the storage room. A mocking smile played on her lips, unsure if it was aimed at her former teammates on TV or the original owner who felt so wronged they considered ending it all.

On TV, Su Tian, the main spokesperson, was saying, "From now on, SSL will continue as a duo..." Her words were cut off as the channel switched to the latest hit drama.

Shan Ruoshui glanced at the remote in Gu Ya's hand but said nothing.

"Enough, there's nothing worth watching. Your real competition isn't those two," Gu Ya said, tossing the remote aside and taking a sip of wine, wrinkling her nose. "Why is your wine so cheap?"

"Ms. Gu, I'm not exactly rolling in dough here, can't afford the fancy wine you like," Shan Ruoshui sighed helplessly. She didn't know how to respond to Gu Ya's disdain, especially since she was currently broke, with her bank account nearly empty.

Gu Ya glanced at Shan Ruoshui and set her wine glass on the table, wiping her lips with a napkin. "Alright, I know you're strapped for cash. I won't make you buy the wine. You should cut back on drinking anyway; it's bad for your throat." Seeing Shan Ruoshui nod obediently, Gu Ya nodded in satisfaction. "The company has scheduled acting, vocal, and dance classes for you. Starting tomorrow, be at the office by 8 a.m. I'll pick you up, okay?"

Shan Ruoshui nodded dutifully.

"It's time to get you an assistant. I can't keep handling all these little things," Gu Ya frowned, clearly annoyed by the trivial tasks but maintaining her professionalism as she organized everything for Shan Ruoshui.

"Got it, Ms. Gu. Thanks for all your hard work," Shan Ruoshui replied with a sweet, ingratiating smile, setting down her glass and moving closer to Gu Ya.

Gu Ya pushed Shan Ruoshui away playfully, though her eyes were smiling. "Alright, alright, don't cling to me."

"Okay," Shan Ruoshui said, retreating to her seat.

Meanwhile, Fang Xiao, who had been idly watching TV, finished the entire broadcast and asked Lu Xu, who was reading the newspaper beside him, "So, does that mean I have a new junior colleague?"

Lu Xu, interrupted from his reading, replied irritably, "Yeah, a new junior colleague. And a pretty impressive one at that." As one of the top agents in the company, Lu Xu was well aware of the contract the higher-ups had given Shan Ruoshui, along with assigning her an agent like Gu Ya, who was on his level. If Shan Ruoshui was remarkable in any way, it was certainly in this regard.

Faang Xiao was intrigued: "I knew it! Just a few days, and there's already a change in companies, but..."

"But you didn't expect it to be our company, right?" Lu Xu felt puzzled and put down his newspaper. "I can't understand why Chairman Faang would offer Shan Ruoshui such a high contract. Do you know why?"

"You mean my brother?" Faang Xiao had heard about Shan Ruoshui's contract. "A lot of people don't get my brother's decisions. I can't figure it out either."

Lu Xu knew he wouldn't get an answer from someone who only cared about enjoying life. He wasn't upset, just gave a disapproving look. "You only care about having fun. No wonder you don't understand your brother."

With the live stream over, Faang Xiao turned off the TV, tossed the remote aside, and leaned comfortably against the couch, sighing, "If my brother handles the work, I can just enjoy life."

"You're so lazy." Lu Xu scoffed, picking up his newspaper again, though his thoughts began to drift.

Seeing Lu Xu lost in thought, Faang Xiao chuckled, a thoughtful look in his eyes. He was starting to get a bit interested in Shan Ruoshui, the one who snagged a top-tier contract with Fang.
