The next day, Shan Ruoshui and Gu Ya arrived at the company parking lot half an hour early.
"Hey, Gu Ya, you're here early!"
The familiar voice and tone meant Gu Ya didn't even need to turn around to know who it was. She locked her car and turned to face him with a hint of annoyance. "Lu Xu, I'm surprised to see you here this early."
Lu Xu, looking laid-back with car keys dangling from his fingers, walked over and glanced at Shan Ruoshui, who was standing obediently beside Gu Ya. "This must be Miss Shan, right? Hi, I'm Lu Xu, the company manager."
"Hello, Mr. Lu," Shan Ruoshui nodded politely.
Gu Ya, a bit impatient, introduced him, "Just call him Lu. He can't handle being called Mr. Lu."
"Ha, Gu Ya knows me well. Yeah, just call me Lu," Lu Xu said, giving Gu Ya a playful pat on the shoulder and a wink. "Rookie, do your best. Don't embarrass Gu Ya."
"Come on, my team doesn't need you to say that!" Gu Ya scoffed, knowing Lu Xu was just curious but still cutting him off without hesitation. "He's just nosy, ignore him."
Shan Ruoshui glanced awkwardly at Lu Xu, then at Gu Ya, trying not to laugh. "Got it, Ms. Gu."
"Aw, a newbie who listens to Gu Ya isn't any fun," Lu Xu said, feigning disappointment.
"Alright, let's go. Don't mind him," Gu Ya said, leading Shan Ruoshui toward the elevator, not interested in lingering in the parking lot with Lu Xu's antics.
Lu Xu let out a playful "Hey" but didn't stop them, just smiled with a hint of mystery.
"If I didn't know you and Gu Ya were just friends, I'd think you had a thing for her, always teasing her and my little junior," Faang Xiao said, appearing out of nowhere with his usual elegant smile, though it was unclear how much he'd overheard.
"Hey, your little sister-in-training, if you call her like that, she might just run off," Lu Xu scoffed.
"Do you really think I'd scare off a newcomer?" Faang Xiao replied, touching his face. "I like to think my looks are at least easy on the eyes, if not downright charming."
"With your reputation, even if you were ugly, people would still flock to you!" Lu Xu mocked Faang Xiao's false modesty.
Faang Xiao took it as a compliment. "Well, that just proves I'm quite the charmer, doesn't it? At least I won't scare off my little sister-in-training."
"Alright, alright, you keep going on about your little sister-in-training. One might think you have a crush on her," Lu Xu said, exasperated. Despite being a cold-hearted person, Faang Xiao always pretended to be a playboy.
As they entered the elevator, Gu Ya watched the floor numbers rise and suddenly said, "That guy, Lu Xu, Faang Xiao's agent—stay clear of him unless necessary." Gu Ya found Lu Xu's sudden friendliness suspicious and warned Shan Ruoshui, worried she might fall for his charms.
"Got it, Ms. Gu," Shan Ruoshui replied, knowing Gu Ya had her best interests at heart.
"And remember, in this company, the only ones you can't cross are the ones with the last name Faang," Gu Ya pointed to the top of the elevator. "Like Chairman Faang, or Faang Xiao."
"Chairman Faang and Faang Xiao... are they related?" Shan Ruoshui wondered. It couldn't just be a coincidence they shared the same last name.
"Everyone here knows this, so I'll fill you in to save you some confusion," Gu Ya said, smoothing her hair with a slight smile. "Faang Xiao is the second son, and Chairman Faang is the first. And yes, it's the Faang family."
Fang isn't just an entertainment company; it's the leading enterprise in the industry. With subsidiaries in record production, talent management, and film and television, Fang covers nearly every aspect of the entertainment sector. Behind Fang is the prestigious and affluent Faang family.
Shan Ruoshui is well aware of Fang. After all, back when she was Jian Yan, she had some interactions with the Faang family. The Chairman Faang that Gu Ya mentioned, Faang Zhen, is someone she finds hard to read.
“Got it.” Since Gu Ya advised her to steer clear of these two, she figured it was best to play it safe. Shan Ruoshui continued to act as the obedient girl, not wanting to stir up trouble. She just wanted to keep her place in the entertainment world, as she couldn't imagine herself anywhere else.
Gu Ya glanced at Shan Ruoshui, who had suddenly fallen into deep thought, and her smile faded slightly. If Shan Ruoshui knew how to stay out of trouble, Gu Ya might lend her a helping hand. But if she proved to be troublesome, Gu Ya wouldn't hesitate to deal with her accordingly.
Unaware of Gu Ya's thoughts, Shan Ruoshui had already devised a plan to avoid these two individuals. As long as she stayed under the radar and remained unnoticed, she'd be fine.
What Shan Ruoshui didn't know was that Faang Xiao had already taken an interest in his "youngest junior sister."
