C16

In February, the flowers were like graupels.

Xiuying had moved from writing big words in the Muxi Courtyard study to the courtyard. Shen Junxiao's combination of daily work did not fail the spring scenery.

Writing ten pieces consecutively, Xiuying thought with her hands slightly trembling. Shouldn't she be out on a journey in the spring?!

As she was lost in her thoughts, the ink on the tip of her brush dripped down, leaving her writing half-way through.

The corner of Xiuying's mouth twitched. She placed the pen down and was about to pick up a piece of paper to knead it into a ball, then threw it backwards.

"Yaoyao." The young man's hoarse voice sounded from behind him.

Xiuying's body froze. It couldn't be such a coincidence …. She laughed and turned her neck to look behind her. Sure enough, her family's Third Uncle was standing at the back with a slightly gloomy face and a small ink mark on his forehead.

She laughed and glanced down at the ball of paper at his feet, revealing the half-dried words.

"Didn't I tell you before that even if you write badly, you have to stay." Shen Junxiao bent down to pick up the paper ball and unfolded it with a frown.

If he rubbed his already muddled words together, he wouldn't be able to see anything clearly. How would he know where the problem was?

Xiuying went up to Third Uncle fawningly and said, "Third Uncle, let me wipe your forehead for you."

Shen Junxiao raised his hand to wipe away the ink on his fingertip. He glanced at her and said, "Go back and continue writing."

Xiuying felt a chill run down her spine. She stuffed the handkerchief into her sleeve and ran back to the table to stand.

— — Third Uncle is going to be angry!

Xiuying nervously picked up her brush and was about to put it down when someone grabbed her hand.

"I've told you a few times, the palm is hollow with the fingers and the wrist is firm with the palm." Shen Junxiao corrected Xiuyingwei's action.

He had been practicing calligraphy over the years, and in order to write more, he had even trained in stone inscriptions. There was a thin cocoon at the tip of his finger.

Xiuying's skin was tender and she could feel it instantly. She was startled. She felt that the temperature between his hands was a bit hot, but luckily, he only managed to straighten her hands before releasing them.

Xiuying felt awkward.

She pretended to be an eighteen year old soul. To be so close to a man, even if it was a relative, she still felt that it was a little strange.

She quietly leaned towards the table. The youth's indifferent voice sounded again from above her, "You can't even stand up straight?"

Xiuying wanted to cry. She definitely did not!

Shen Junxiao looked at the girl who was only slightly taller than him and sighed helplessly, "Yaoyao, write well today. I'll take you there tomorrow."

"Really?!" When Xiuying heard the word "green", she suddenly raised her head and saw the young man's phoenix eyes slightly open.

The surprise on her face turned into embarrassment.

She was so excited that Third Uncle thought she didn't want to work hard.

Shen Junxiao didn't know whether to laugh or to cry when he saw that his almond eyes, which were still bright like the eyes of a star, had dimmed down the next moment. How serious did this niece think he was?!

He raised his hand and touched the top of her head, "When has Third Uncle ever lied to you? I'll take you to ride. As long as you don't get tired from all the shouting."

Riding a horse?!

Xiuying became excited again.

In her two lifetimes, she had only been brought together once. However, she was still slowly led by someone, and she wasn't even considered a rider. But that one time, she could not forget, riding on the horse, the open space between heaven and earth … Just a single glance was enough to make one yearn for it.

"I'm not tired!" Xiuying blurted out.

After he finished speaking, he reacted and his face turned red, as if he was too unreserved.

Shen Junxiao patted her head again and smiled as he said: "Then let's continue writing. We are still short of five."

Her homework had changed from ten big words to fifteen, and she had to recite poems and so on. Xiuying said boldly, "Isn't it just five?! "All ten of them will be finished!"

"Alright, then ten." Shen Junxiao glanced at her, then turned to the reclining chair. After finishing these ten, there's still the reward. "

Xiuying was about to bite off her tongue when she heard the reward and her eyes lit up again. The handsome youth comfortably laid down, took out a book, and calmly said, "After you finish writing these ten, you will be rewarded with a placard. You don't need to write anything big anymore."

Xiuying almost vomited a mouthful of blood. What kind of reward was this?! Was this really not a pretense of punishing her?!

Her Third Uncle was terrifying!

Xiuying silently held a handful of tears for herself, gritted her teeth, and wrote something big with her brush. Her many years of experience with Shen Junxiao had taught her not to think about bargaining. It would only make her Third Uncle even more strict. At least now, she still had a horse riding Qing Qing to comfort her.

Xiuying forced herself to be content with what she had done, wrote rapidly, and finally got away with it.

The little girl lifted up her skirt and ran out of the door. Shen Junxiao threw away the ruler in his hand. He still wasn't used to her chasing after ghosts every time she left. Was he that scary?!

Xiuying kept rushing back to the Jaixin Courtyard. Mrs Feng and Aunt Wang were playing with Brother Xiang with a ball in their hands, and when they looked up, they saw their daughter who had bright red cheeks. She sent Xin Mei to get some hot water, but when she saw that Xiuying was about to touch Brother Xiang, she quickly stopped her and said, "Let's wash our hands first. We can't afford to have your hands dirty."

Xiuying looked at the little bun, who was smiling at her so much that his saliva was dripping, and after enduring for a while, she turned around and sat to the side, waiting for the little girl to bring some water to wash her face.

When Aunt Wang saw Mrs Feng being so attentive, she felt both happy and sad. The other day, when she heard Mrs Feng want Brother Xiang to be her son, she knew that it would be the best for Brother Xiang due to her low status. If Brother Xiang was by her side, it would always affect his future. Although he understood, which mother would want their son to grow up without them?

This kind of motherly feeling was really contradictory. Now that she saw that Mrs Feng truly loved her son, and even the legitimate Xiuying treated Brother Xiang with sincerity, she decided to stop hesitating. After all, Aunt Cui was pregnant again. If Aunt Cui gave birth to a son, it would really have nothing to do with Brother Xiang. She had never been able to compete with Aunt Cui's kindness.

Aunt Wang's anxious heart finally settled down. On the other side, Xiuying was also a good hand. Under Mrs Feng's repeated warnings, she carefully carried Brother Xiang to play.

"Madam." Aunt Wang called out to Mrs Feng in a soft voice, her hands holding the handkerchief. "Can I visit Brother Xiang often from now on?"

Mrs Feng withdrew her gaze from her daughter and smiled at the nervous Aunt Wang, "Of course it's okay. Brother Xiang was born to you. Even if he was named after me, he would still be your son."

When Aunt Wang heard this, she became even more nervous. She wanted to explain something, but Mrs Feng knew that she had misunderstood, so she patted her hand. It would be fine even if you came to live with me, but then you'd be able to see the lord less often, so you come often. "

Aunt Wang really didn't know what to say this time.

She knew that Mrs Feng was used to being amiable and gentle, but she was still shocked when she heard this. A childless mistress, didn't she raise her son to protect her position? How could she allow her son to interact more with his mother?

Aunt Wang was a little confused, but she was still touched.

She stood up and gave Mrs Feng a deep, blissful look. Mrs Feng calmly accepted it and told her to sit down again.

"I had already mentioned this matter to Master that day. Perhaps it will be decided in a few days."

Since Aunt Wang had made her decision, she naturally wanted it to be as soon as possible. Thus, she said, "I will leave everything to Madam." As she spoke, she thought of Aunt Cui. "I wonder how Aunt Cui is doing. I was afraid of disturbing her, so I didn't dare to congratulate her."

Aunt Cui was fine. Mrs Feng smiled, "The old lady and the old master are very attentive, and they have sent over supplements like running water. I'm sure everything is going well." There's no hurry to congratulate her. "

Aunt Wang nodded and considered what she should bring with her to congratulate him.

The two chatted for a while longer before Shen Junxiao sent someone to tell Mrs Feng to bring Xiuying out tomorrow. Aunt Wang then carried Brother Xiang back.
