C16 Entering the Mountain
Ye Ziqing spent more than ten hours to make the two medicines. When she saw the medicine in the glass bottle, she was full of confidence in her trip to Phoenix Mountain.
Ye Ziqing prepared everything and did not stay in the Wide Open Space for long. After coming out, she carried the pine needle and walked back. After having hope, Ye Ziqing's mood was unprecedentedly happy. Even her footsteps when she returned home became relaxed.
The next morning before dawn, Ye Ziqing came out of the Wide Open Space. The house was quiet. Ye Zhiyong and the rest of the people did not get up. She wrote a note and placed it on the table before going out.
Before the Venus fell, Ye Ziqing walked on the stem of the field. The dew quickly drenched her pants, but she ignored it. She went all the way south. When the sky turned white, she had already arrived at Southern Bamboo Mountain.
In the mountain, other than the birds chirping, there was no other sound. Ye Ziqing entered the Wide Open Space and ate the breakfast that she had prepared beforehand. She then changed into a camouflage uniform that followed her through time and space and wore a pair of cotton socks. She also put on the canvas shoes that she had bought the day before yesterday. When she stood up, she saw that her pants were too long. She tied them around her ankles with a belt. She then hung a small sachet filled with insect repellant on her waist before leaving the space.
On this deserted mountain path, Ye Ziqing carried the pack basket on her back as she walked forward at the fastest speed. When she was hungry, she stopped to eat. When she was thirsty, she took out a water bottle and drank some water. At other times, she had to move forward with all her might.
Ye Ziqing's speed was very fast. On the same day, she entered the Phoenix Mountain. After entering the mountain for more than ten kilometers, the color of the sky darkened. After more than ten years, Phoenix Mountain was turned into a national forest park. Although the periphery of the Phoenix Mountain was not a primitive forest, there were tall trees everywhere. In the midsummer, the leaves on the trees were very lush. After covering most of the sunlight, in the evening, the mountain became even more gloomy.
Ye Ziqing had experienced adventures in the mountains in her previous life. She knew that it was more dangerous in the mountains at night than in the day. The visibility at night was very poor. There were traps everywhere in the forest. Many animals rested during the day and moved around at night. The forest was originally their territory, but at night, they could move freely. For the sake of her safety, she stopped moving as soon as the sky turned dark.
Of course, she wasn't idle either, taking advantage of the light. She made the best use of her time to pick the medicine. Phoenix Mountain was really a good place. As soon as she entered the mountain, she saw a lot of herbs. There were a lot more isatis root and wild herbs here than outside. She even saw two clusters of gastrodia elata. However, she was in a hurry to go to Phoenix Mountain. She wanted to dig these things up when she returned.
Not only were there a lot of herbs here, but there were also many small animals. She had never seen pheasants or wild rabbits in Pine Forest Mountain. After arriving in Phoenix Mountain, however, pheasants and wild rabbits would appear in front of her from time to time, making her drool. Finally, she took out a bow and arrow from the Wide Open Space, but she had not practiced archery yet. Although her eyesight was very good, she did not have good control of her strength. After shooting out more than ten arrows, she only managed to hit a wild chicken. Now, that unlucky wild chicken's legs were tied up and it was lying in the patio of the Wide Open Space. Ye Ziqing really wanted to eat meat. This wild chicken would soon become her food.
There was no one nearby. When it was dark, she entered the Wide Open Space.
The first thing she did was kill that pheasant. After dealing with the pheasant, she cut it into pieces. She placed the pheasant in a casserole and stewed it. She used large pieces of firewood. She didn't need to watch the fire from time to time. After the water was boiled, she went to pick some mushrooms and washed them. When the chicken was about to be cooked, she added the mushrooms in. Soon, a pot of mushroom stew chicken was ready.
She cooked another big pot of rice. In order to save time, she cooked the rice for the second day. She cooked a fried chili and some Spirit Wisdom Herb. The food was unprecedentedly sumptuous.
After she had eaten her fill, she took a stroll in the space to digest the food. Without realizing it, she walked to the hill.
"There's a fruit on this tree? It looks like it has matured. Should I take it off?" Ye Ziqing looked at the yellow God Strength Fruit. She did not notice its existence a few days ago. How did it mature so quickly?
Of course, the God Strength Fruit would not mature in a few days. She did not discover it a few days ago because the God Strength Fruit at that time was green, and it was hidden in the middle of the leaves.
After Ye Ziqing confirmed that the God Strength Fruit was ripe, she carefully took it off. She found a jade box in the cabinet and put it away.
It was still early so she was not in a hurry to read and cultivate. Thinking of her eye-opening archery skills, Ye Ziqing took off the bow and arrows hanging on the wall and prepared to practice archery. Now it was not allowed to use hunting guns here, if her archery skills were good. In the future, she could go into the mountains to hunt some small animals.
Without a coach, Ye Ziqing could only follow her own imagination. She made a pine tree fifty meters, eighty meters, and a hundred meters away and drew circles on the spot. She stood in the circle and shot arrows at the pine tree. As for the posture and precautions, she did as the book said. Fortunately, there was a book on archery in the bookshelf. Otherwise, she really wouldn't know how to do it.
With the principle of first being easy, then difficult, she first shot at the tree 50 meters away. In the beginning, she always felt that her movements were very awkward. Her control of strength was also always bad, and the arrows she shot out were unable to hit the target. According to the book, she constantly adjusted her movements. After an unknown amount of time, she finally adjusted her movements to the correct position. She could also control her strength freely.
Her eyesight was good, and she also had sufficient strength. Very soon, she would be able to hit the target. She first hit the target that was fifty meters away, then the tree that was eighty meters away, and finally the tree that was a hundred meters away.
Ye Ziqing looked at the densely packed arrows nailed to the tree trunk, rubbed her sore arm, and nodded in satisfaction.
The next morning, Ye Ziqing set off on dewdrops. The deeper she went, the more lush the vegetation became. Because there were fewer people, there were no more roads in the mountain. Ye Ziqing could only helplessly take out a large saber and open up a path as she walked. Those chopped branches were all kept by her into the Wide Open Space and used to make firewood in the future.
After crossing a few mountains and a few valleys, Ye Ziqing finally arrived at Wood Creek.
Wood Creek was a huge valley. A five to six meter wide stream split the valley in half. The stream went east and flowed into the light river. There were not many tall trees in the valley. They were all grass and plants that grew over a year.
Ye Ziqing stood on one side of the valley and looked around. The valley was filled with weeds that were half the height of a person. There were all kinds of wild flowers decorating the valley. Birds were jumping in the middle. The butterflies were dancing in the middle. The bees were diligently harvesting the nectar, appearing incomparably harmonious and beautiful. It made people unable to bear to destroy it.
Ye Ziqing did not know the exact location of the orchid. She only knew that it was at the south side of the valley near the hillside. Now she was at the south side of the valley, so she did not need to cross the river.
