C721 The Third One Is a Lie
Ni Chenxi stayed downstairs for an hour, then wiped his tears, poured some mineral water, washed his face, and went upstairs with two huge boxes.
It was still the familiar door. The voice control light at the door lit up the moment he stepped on the floor. It warmed the quiet air and blurred his shadow.
Ni Chenxi stood at the door and thought about how he should face Ni Chenjun.
He lied and did not mind lying more.
Was he lying to his brother that he was happy to see him, or was he angry that his brother did not go to pick him up, or that he used the same trick again to win his heart and attention by acting like a spoiled child that had no effect on him?
These few actions seemed to be the reactions that he could make, but he wanted to know what kind of him his brother wanted to see. He was calm, wise, and as indifferent and noble as him.
It was impossible to be noble. Ni Chenxi smiled. He seemed to have become cold, but he couldn't become noble like his elder brother. He immersed himself in the mathematics calculations in the laboratory and the classroom day after day. Perhaps he could still have the feeling of being a scholar.
But would his brother be satisfied with this kind of him?
Before Ni Chenxi could figure out what kind of person he should set up, the door suddenly opened from the inside.
Ni Chenjun looked at Ni Chenxi, who had been standing at the door, smiling and thinking for a while. He raised his eyebrows and said, "Why didn't you come in? Did you forget the password?"
Ni Chenxi narrowed his eyes under the light that suddenly came out of the room. He adapted to it for a while before he carefully looked at Ni Chenjun.
He had grown a little taller in the United States. When he looked at Ni Chenjun, he no longer needed to look up to him like before.
His brother did not change. He wore a white shirt and black pants. He wore gray slippers on his feet. Even at home, his back was as straight as a steel pipe.
His eyes were the same as when he left. They were calm and indifferent, as if he knew everything.
He raised his eyebrows slightly with some surprise. When the pitch-black pupils circulated on his body, he felt the embarrassment of being sized up. It was as if he had been stripped naked and stood in front of him. His hesitation and lies could not be hidden.
Ni Chenxi did not answer for a moment. Ni Chenjun asked again, "Why didn't you come in?"
He had heard the sound of the box a long time ago, but no one had opened the door or knocked on it. If he had not known that Ni Chenxi was coming back tonight, he would not have known that he had been standing at the door all the time.
He was tall and thin, and he became very quiet. The proud thorns that had stood up four months ago had all been withdrawn, replaced by calmness, depression, and indifference. This was even more eye-catching than his previous pride, as if as long as he pursed his lips and lowered his head, he would be able to attract the attention of the entire world.
He became mature and full of charm, but this state of mind also made him even colder and stranger.
Ni Chenjun silently sized him up, curious about what he had experienced.
Ni Chenxi held the lever of his suitcase tightly, pursed his lips, and slightly lowered his gaze. "I forgot the password."
Ni Chenjun did not expose him. He watched him push the suitcase in and close the door again.
Ni Chenxi walked in quietly. He did not ask Ni Chenjun for help. He carried two big boxes upstairs clumsily.
Ni Chenjun took out the roasted oysters from the kitchen and sat at the dining table, waiting for him.
Ni Chenxi put the boxes downstairs, washed his hands, and sat down at the table where the plates were placed. Opposite him was Ni Chenjun.
His brother's oysters were very well cooked. They were tender and fragrant on the outside. In the past, he could eat dozens of oysters per meal, but now, he only ate three and put down his chopsticks.
Ni Chenjun asked, "Why aren't you eating? Isn't it delicious?"
Ni Chenxi shook his head. "It's delicious."
It was just that he did not like to eat pork in America, so he had eaten a lot of beef, mutton, and seafood in the past four months. If he ate again now, it seemed that he could not find the taste that he could not forget at that time.
He pushed the small gift box in front of Ni Chenjun. "Brother, this is the gift I bought for you."
