C16 He Was Wronged and Acted Coquettishly

"The security at Caesar Palace is indeed from my company," Han Hao acknowledged.

Shi Niannian pleaded earnestly, "Please, could you help me out? A close friend of mine was dragged into Caesar Palace by some men, and I’m not sure which room they’re in. I’m on my way there now, but I’m afraid I might not make it in time. I really need your help to rescue her."

Han Hao immediately grasped the gravity of the situation. As he glanced at Cheng Zhiyu, he noticed that Zhiyu was already on his feet, heading out the door, with Mu Bai following closely behind. Although the security was under Han Hao's command, the real owner behind Caesar Palace was his younger brother, Cheng Zhiyu, making it more appropriate for him to handle the situation personally.

"I can lend a hand, but I’m curious why you reached out to me instead of Chenhan?" Han Hao inquired, noticing Fu Chenhan's slightly jealous demeanor.

"It’s not that I didn’t want to ask him for help. I called him right away, but he might have been busy and missed it. Since it was urgent, I turned to you first," Shi Niannian explained, her tone carrying a hint of frustration.

Upon hearing this, Fu Chenhan anxiously searched for his phone, eventually finding it wedged in the couch. To his surprise, he had dozens of missed calls, three from Shi Niannian and the rest from his company’s assistant. Seeing "Wife" in bold red letters on the screen made his heart skip a beat. Finally, she had called him, even if it was for her best friend’s sake, and he didn’t mind at all.

Upon hearing her say she immediately called him, Fu Chenhan couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness. Wasn't it a sign that she still had him in her heart? Maybe her threat to poison him was just an angry outburst.

A smile crept onto Fu Chenhan's lips as he subtly signaled Han Hao to hang up. Han Hao, catching on quickly, assured Niannian, "I've already taken care of it. Your friend will be just fine, don't worry."

"Thank you, Mr. Han," she replied.

Shortly after Niannian hung up, she arrived at the base of the Caesar Palace. She barely waited for the car to stop before jumping out, ready to call Han Hao when Fu Chenhan's call came through first.

"Hello, Chenhan? Where are you? Why haven't you been answering my calls?" Her voice was urgent and tinged with a hint of tears.

"I was busy and didn't see the calls," he replied, his deep voice slightly hoarse, with a hint of intoxication. Niannian frowned slightly, "Have you been drinking?"

"Is there something you need?" Fu Chenhan asked, feigning ignorance.

"I was going to—"

"Excuse me, are you Miss Niannian?" a man's voice interrupted.

"Yes, I am."

The man, dressed in a security uniform, was clearly one of Han Hao's subordinates, so she felt no need to be on guard.

The man respectfully said, "Mr. Han asked me to come down and get you. Please follow me."

"Chenhan, I'm busy right now, so I'll have to hang up."

With that, she hurriedly ended the call and followed the security guard upstairs.

"How's my friend doing?" Niannian asked eagerly as soon as they entered the elevator.

The man shook his head and replied, "I don't know. Mr. Han just asked me to come down and get you."

Even though she had asked Han Hao for help, Niannian was still anxious. She hadn't been able to reach Lyi Yang on the phone on her way over.

"Ding..."
