C17 As Expected of a Sister!

Qiao Mo glanced at Qiao Chu, noticing she was busy typing on her phone. She stepped aside and dialed Lu Zhengqing's number.

When the call connected, Qiao Mo spoke in an overly sweet voice, "Hey, Qing, I lost my phone, so I'm using Grandpa's to call you."

"Sweetheart, didn't we just talk? Missing me already?"

"When did we talk? I just got back and called you right away... Sweetheart? You never called me that before."

"Come on, sweetheart, don't mess around!"

Qiao Mo's lips curled into a mocking smile. "You can't even recognize my voice?"

"Of course I can! Don't joke with me. You're the only one I care about; everyone else is nothing to me."

"Really? Then swear you love me."

"Chu, I love you! I'll love you forever, until the end of time."

Qiao Mo's smile was tinged with a hint of tears. "Chu? So, you love Chu now."

She spoke loudly enough to make her point. Who needs a jerk like that? He can go cool off somewhere else.

The phone was silent for a long moment before a voice finally asked, "Who are you?"

Qiao Mo didn't answer and hung up. She forced a heartbroken expression onto her face, walked over to the couch, sat down, and clung to her grandpa's arm, sobbing.

"Grandpa, Lu Zhengqing loves someone else. I want to break up with him."

Her grandpa gently patted her hand. "I always told you, you're too young to judge men well. I've met that young man; he's not good enough for you. Breaking up is for the best. Mo, you deserve someone better."

"Yeah, I get it. Just two months, and he's already fallen for someone else. Who needs a guy like that anyway?"

She turned to Qiao Chu and softly said, "Chu, I wish you all the best. He says he loves you, forever and always, until the end of time."

Qiao Chu was taken aback, her expression uneasy. She scoffed, "What nonsense are you talking about? I'm not interested in someone like him."

Qiao Mo tilted her head towards Su Yunna, smiling, "Auntie, did you know Chu is dating? Turns out she likes someone like Lu Zhengqing. We really are sisters, even our taste in men is the same."

Su Yunna: ...

Qiao Chu's face turned bright red as she hurriedly said, "No, I'm not dating Lu Zhengqing. Stop making things up."

Qiao Mo grinned at her, "Don't worry, even though it stings a bit that he likes you, after nearly drowning in the ocean, I've realized that having a boyfriend isn't everything."

Grandpa chimed in, "Two sisters dating the same guy? That's just not right! Chu, you shouldn't want a man like that."

Qiao Mo laughed, "Grandpa, don't be so old-fashioned. Young love isn't bound by so many rules. Why let a good thing go to waste?"

Qiao Chu's expression soured.

She looked at Qiao Mo, recalling the vivid dream she had that night. It was so real that her face still ached when she woke up, leaving her too scared to go near Lu Zhengqing these past few days.

She still hadn't recovered from the shock of Qiao Mo coming back alive. Just moments ago, before she could send out her message, Qiao Mo had already called Lu Zhengqing.

Lu Zhengqing was handsome, more so than any of the men pursuing her. Initially, she was drawn to him because he was Qiao Mo's boyfriend, but eventually, she genuinely fell for him. He knew how to charm people and was her first love. Besides, the Lu family was comfortably well-off.

If Qiao Mo were out of the picture, the Qiao family would be theirs. Her father was still in the dark about it; she planned to wait until Lu Zhengqing achieved more in his career before saying anything.

Qiao Chu's phone rang, prompting her to quickly stand and walk toward the door as she answered it. Qiao Mo gave her a cold glance and continued chatting quietly with their grandfather.
