C3 Kill Her!
The look in his eyes was as chilling and dark as the king cobra she once encountered on the island, carrying the scent of death.
Qiao Mo's breath caught in her throat.
Kill her?
She remembered how, in a previous life, Gu Chi had captured many venomous snakes on this island. In a panic, she pleaded, "Young master Gu, please... don't kill me! I know this island well. It's full of poisonous snakes, and you might need my help. I can lead the way for you."
"How do you know we're here for the snakes?" Gu Chi's narrow, starry eyes suddenly narrowed, staring at her intently, his expression unreadable.
Qiao Mo was startled, realizing her slip. She reached out with her grimy hands to grab Gu Chi's arm.
The burly man with the gun's expression changed, and he yanked Qiao Mo's hair back, causing her to fall onto the sand.
Before falling into the sea, Qiao Mo had been wearing a tight pink dress. Now, she was filthy, her clothes in tatters. The pink dress had faded, its hem reduced to ragged strips, barely covering her essential parts. To protect herself from the sun, she had smeared thick black mud on her face and body, looking like someone from a distant land.
Lying on the beach, her good figure was unmistakably revealed.
Oh no!
These men don't look like good people at all. Qiao Mo was worried she might not make it out alive, so she kept her eyes shut and stayed perfectly still.
"Speak! How did you know we were here to catch snakes?" a man demanded, his voice cold and menacing. Qiao Mo felt a chill run through her.
Could things get any worse? Just two months into her new life, and she might die at the hands of this madman?
Qiao Mo stayed silent.
Someone lifted her eyelids to check if she was conscious. Her eyes rolled back, and the person slapped her face a few times. Another voice chimed in, "Mr. Chi, this filthy woman has passed out."
"Hmm, check her identity. Set up camp first, then we'll see if we can find what we're looking for," a deep, magnetic voice instructed.
Qiao Mo let out a small sigh of relief; she wasn't going to die just yet.
Water splashed onto her face, and a rough hand rubbed her cheeks haphazardly. "Snap! Snap! Snap!" The sound of a camera shutter echoed as someone took her picture.
Then someone chuckled, "Wow, Mr. Chi, she's actually quite pretty. It'd be a waste to kill her. How about I move her to the shade and later bring her to your tent? You can have some fun."
"Are you crazy? She just appeared out of nowhere on this deserted island. What are the odds? Just shoot her and let's get on with our business."
Oh my God! They really are planning to kill me.
Qiao Mo's heart tightened, and countless images flashed through her mind—dying alone on this desolate island, her body picked clean by seagulls until only bones remained...
The sound of footsteps, "shh, shh," grew fainter, taking with it the oppressive and suffocating feeling.
"Ah! Ah! I just got dizzy from the heat." Qiao Mo opened her eyes and scrambled up from the sand, rubbing her temples with both hands.
The burly man glanced at her with a smirk, "Little liar, keep pretending. If you upset my boss, dying would be a mercy."
"Phew..." Qiao Mo carefully exhaled.
She followed a group of hefty men toward the rock wall, with Gu Chi leading the way, his tall frame standing out.
What good is being handsome if you're so unkind?
The big boss said he would check her identity. Would he let her go once he was done?
How could she sneak onto that helicopter?
What were they doing with the snakes?
Besides biting, what else could venomous snakes do?
