C3 Divorce!?

"Was it your plan to harm my father?" Chen Feng bellowed, incredulous that the Chen Family could stoop so low. To coerce him into returning, they had actually used Xia Weiguo's life as leverage.

"Young Master, those are your words, not mine," Chen Zhong replied, his smile barely concealing his smugness.

"Damn it!"

Chen Feng's fist slammed into the wall with a thud. He loathed Chen Zhong enough to want him dead, but he also knew that Chen Zhong was the only one who could save Xia Weiguo now. Without him, even with five million in hand, the hospital would turn a blind eye.

And besides, he didn't have five million to spare.

It was a blatant, unashamed scheme, yet Chen Feng was forced to play along.

He could stomach the Chen Family's ruthless tactics when it came to him, but he would never stand for any harm coming to Xia Mengyao and her family.

"Young Master, please decide quickly. Mr. Xia doesn't have much time," Chen Zhong urged, his face serene. He had always known Chen Feng well, especially his Achilles' heel—Xia Mengyao. Any threat to her would drive Chen Feng to the brink of madness.

If Chen Feng allowed Xia Weiguo to die today, it would spell the end of his relationship with Xia Mengyao.

Chen Zhong was confident; Chen Feng wouldn't dare make such an idiotic choice.

Chen Feng managed a grim smile. Chen Zhong had gambled correctly. Even without Xia Mengyao in the picture, he couldn't stand by and watch Xia Weiguo die—the man had once saved his life.

"Save him!" Chen Feng commanded, his voice icy with resolve. "If anything happens to my father because of this, I swear, the Chen Family will pay dearly."

"Young Master, from the moment of your birth, you've carried the esteemed blood of the Chen Family. You've now made the most intelligent choice. Trust me, the Chen Family has much more to offer you than mere trillions in wealth."

Chen Zhong's words oozed arrogance. The Chen Family's reputation as the preeminent dynasty in the capital wasn't just about wealth; their true influence was beyond the comprehension of ordinary people.

"Wise?" Chen Feng's jaw clenched, his eyes ablaze with towering hatred.

Kindness is often exploited, and his repeated concessions had only emboldened the Chen Family's encroachments!

They all treated him like a dog—summoned with a whistle and dismissed with a wave of the hand.

But they failed to realize, even a cornered dog will bite.

In that moment, Chen Feng resolved that from this day forward, he would not back down an inch. It was a fight to the death between him and the Chen Family.

He was determined to make Chen Zhennan pay dearly for his overconfidence.

"The Chen Family has pushed me to this!" he seethed.

Unaware of the storm brewing in Chen Feng's mind, Chen Zhong presented a contract he had long since prepared. With a sly smile, he said, "Young Master, this is the patriarch's welcoming gift. Just sign here, and all of the Chen Family's enterprises in Cangzhou will be yours."

Chen Feng gave Chen Zhong an icy stare. The contract listed a myriad of industries—real estate, catering, communications, entertainment, internet... a presence in nearly every sector.

The total value was in the tens of billions!

For the first time, Chen Feng grasped the full extent of the Chen Family's wealth—the most affluent dynasty in the capital.

Just the assets in Cangzhou alone were worth tens of billions.

And if one were to tally up the entire Huaxia empire...

They were wealthy enough to rival nations!

With each revelation, the weight on Chen Feng's shoulders grew heavier.

But with the arrow nocked, he had no choice but to release it. There was no turning back.

Even knowing that Chen Zhennan had set a trap, he had to leap into it.

Without further hesitation, Chen Feng signed his name.

"Congratulations, Young Master. From this moment, you are the Richest Man in Cangzhou," Chen Zhong said, bowing deeply.

"Richest Man in Cangzhou?" Chen Feng sneered inwardly. To the average person, instant wealth might be a dream come true, but not for Chen Feng.

If given the choice, he'd rather live a simple life with Xia Mengyao than bear the title of the wealthiest man.

However, the Chen Family had no intention of giving him that opportunity.

The moment he took over the Chen Family's enterprises in Cangzhou, his life was at constant risk.

After Chen Feng departed, Chen Zhong pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Master, he has accepted," Chen Zhong spoke with deference.

"Good." The response from the other end was detached, betraying no surprise at the outcome, "Remain in Cangzhou for now and assist him in securing control over the businesses there as quickly as possible."

"Yes, Master!"

"Furthermore, I'll dispatch a Ghost Servant to covertly ensure his safety."

Ghost Servant?!

Chen Zhong's eyes bulged with astonishment. He hadn't anticipated that Chen Zhennan would assign a Ghost Servant to safeguard Chen Feng.

What on earth did this illegitimate son possess that warranted such extreme caution from Chen Zhennan?

The Ghost Servant was the Chen Family's elite military force. Chen Zhennan had once invested over thirty billion abroad to acquire an island exclusively for their training.

They scoured the globe for children with exceptional potential and began their rigorous training from a young age. Each child endured grueling, hellish drills under the tutelage of either martial arts grandmasters or the preeminent Kings of Assassins.

Thousands entered the Ghost Servant training camp annually, yet only one would emerge as a Ghost Servant.

The prowess of a Ghost Servant honed by the Chen Family was unimaginable.

To them, the so-called kings of soldiers and elite assassins known to the public were mere punchlines.

Chen Zhennan's decision to assign a Ghost Servant to protect Chen Feng was beyond Chen Zhong's wildest expectations.

Chen Zhong knew full well that not even Chen Zhennan's biological sons were entitled to such protection, yet Chen Feng was an exception.

Riddled with disbelief, Chen Zhong was certain that Chen Feng harbored a secret, one far more valuable than the Chen Family's trillion-dollar fortune.

Following Chen Zhong's arrangements, Xia Weiguo's surgery was successfully completed without incident.

With Xia Weiguo out of danger, Chen Feng stepped out to buy breakfast for two. Lin Lan and Xia Mengyao had spent the entire night in the hospital room, and by now, they were surely famished.

Chen Feng arrived at the hospital ward door, breakfast in hand. As he reached to push it open, Lin Lan's voice filtered through from inside.

"Mengyao, once your father is well again, you should divorce Chen Feng."

"Mom, I've told you so many times—I'm not going to divorce Chen Feng," Xia Mengyao replied, her finely arched eyebrows furrowed, fatigue evident in her voice.

"You have to divorce him!" Lin Lan was resolute, her tone unwavering. "Mengyao, I can bend on other things, but not this. If you don't divorce Chen Feng this time, I'll have to act as if I no longer have a daughter."

Xia Mengyao looked at Lin Lan in stunned silence, realizing that her mother meant business. Lin Lan had suggested a divorce from Chen Feng several times before, but each time, she would back down as soon as Xia Mengyao shook her head.

But Lin Lan's stance was unexpectedly firm this time.

"Mengyao, it's not that I want to be cruel and tear you two apart, it's just that you're not right for each other. Chen Feng isn't good enough for you."

"I saw it the day he walked into our home. If it hadn't been for your father's solemn promise that Chen Feng would make something of himself, I would never have consented to your marriage, not even if it killed me."

"Now, three years have gone by. Tell me, has Chen Feng accomplished anything noteworthy? He's still just a delivery man, earning a meager six to seven thousand yuan a month. Do you really want to spend your life with such a man?"

Standing just outside, Chen Feng listened with a composed expression. Lin Lan's words were harsh, but true. Over the past three years, he hadn't achieved anything significant, nor had he brought Xia Mengyao any real happiness.

Now it was Xia Mengyao's turn to decide. Whatever her choice, he was prepared to accept it. Even if it meant divorce, this time he was ready to walk away with his head held high….
