C9 Koenigsegg

"Chen Feng, what the hell are you doing?" Zhao Shihua was itching to charge at Chen Feng and give him a thrashing, but one look into Chen Feng's eyes made him back down.

Yet, with his wife having been attacked, he couldn't just stand by. He stuttered and stumbled over his words before finally bellowing, "Chen Feng, you spineless coward! How could you hit a woman? What kind of man are you?"

"I don't hit women, but Xia Zilan? Can she even be called a woman?" Chen Feng retorted with a cold laugh. "I've been wanting to shut her up for a long time. Consider this a warning. If it happens again, it won't be this easy!"

"And you—if you have a problem with that, come at me anytime. But let me be clear: if I catch wind of you taking any covert revenge on Mengyao, I won't hesitate to send you on a one-way trip to meet the King of Hell!"

Zhao Shihua's face went pale. For some reason, he sensed an intimidating presence emanating from Chen Feng, a whiff of danger that set his heart racing with fear.

He began to wonder, was this man really the same Chen Feng he once knew as a pushover?

After laying down his ultimatum, Chen Feng strode over to Xia Mengyao and offered her a smile. "Mengyao, let's head home."

"Okay." Xia Mengyao nodded, her demeanor gentle. Today's display from Chen Feng had taken her by surprise. His words and actions seemed to transform him into someone else entirely.

She was perplexed. This assertive, confrontational side was not the Chen Feng she knew. Yet, deep down, she was thrilled that he had taken a stand for her.

They had barely moved a few steps away when a jarring roar filled the air. Seconds later, a sleek black car rolled into view, its presence commanding attention.

The rumble of the engine vibrated through the crowd as the sun glinted off the car's high-tech, streamlined body. The black supercar exuded an imperial majesty that captivated all onlookers.

In the blink of an eye, the black lightning had stolen the show, rendering everything else dull in comparison.

"Koenigsegg!"

"One of the top three supercars in the world!"

Car enthusiasts in the crowd were breathless with excitement, their voices echoing in awe.

Yet, many onlookers were fixated on the black streak of lightning, their eyes glued to it with intense curiosity. They were all eager to find out why such a vehicle would make an appearance at the Xia Family's company.

Xia Zilan, who had been in the midst of a tantrum, abruptly ceased her tears, her face etched with anxiety as the black sports car approached them.

It came to a halt.

It came to a halt.

Xia Zilan's breath quickened, and Zhao Shihua found himself swallowing hard.

The car door swung open, and a man in a vibrant floral shirt stepped out, striding toward them.

Zhao Shihua inhaled deeply, his mind racing as he tried to place where he might have seen this man before.

"Sir..." Zhao Shihua mustered a smile, ready to greet the man in the floral shirt.

But his smile abruptly solidified on his face.

The man didn't spare him a glance, instead walking past him.

Past him...

Zhao Shihua spun around, only to witness a moment he'd never forget.

The man from the Koenigsegg, clad in his floral shirt, was bowing to Chen Feng!

Zhao Shihua rubbed his eyes fiercely, convinced he was seeing things.

"Mr. Chen, you left your car open," Bao said with utmost respect. His words were carefully chosen, not outright stating that the car was a gift from Shen Hongchang, but implying that Chen Feng had simply forgotten to drive it away, suggesting the car was rightfully his and leaving Chen Feng with no grounds for refusal.

Chen Feng was at a loss for words. How could he forget his car? If he had forgotten any car, it would have been his electric one, not the flashy supercar before him.

Shen Hongchang had a way with gifts, and Chen Feng found himself without a reason to decline.

After all, no one would harm a person who smiles.

"Sorry, I was in such a rush when I left, thank you for bringing my car," Chen Feng said earnestly as he accepted the keys.

"Mr. Chen, you're too kind," Bao replied with a slight smile.

As Chen Feng took the key, Zhao Shihua and Xia Zilan stood there, agape, alongside the Xia Family staff in the courtyard, all with their mouths wide enough to fit two eggs.

This magnificent car belonged to Chen Feng?!

Xia Mengyao's face was a canvas of shock. She knew Chen Feng better than anyone, and the thought of him being the owner of this car was something she simply couldn't fathom.

"Let's head home, Mengyao," Chen Feng called out, noticing Xia Mengyao still lost in thought. With a wave of his hand, he beckoned her to follow.

A blush crept onto Xia Mengyao's cheeks as she snapped back to reality.

Chen Feng graciously opened the car door for her, and she took her place in the passenger seat with quiet grace.

Chen Feng then cast a sardonic glance at Zhao Shihua and Xia Zilan before settling into the driver's seat. With the roar of the engine, the sleek black car sped away into the distance.

"No way!"

"He must have rented that piece of junk!"

Xia Zilan, momentarily forgetting her recent embarrassment, launched into another tirade. She refused to believe that the impressive vehicle was Chen Feng's.

"Fool, that car isn't a rental!" Zhao Shihua hissed through clenched teeth, his eyes betraying a hint of apprehension. He was certain the car wasn't rented. As an employee of Shen Hongchang's company, he had seen Shen himself driving the car just three days prior. The company's executives had mentioned that Shen had recently purchased the car for 26.8 million—a limited edition hypercar, with only six available in the entire Huaxia region. Shen had intended to gift it to a high-ranking provincial official as a birthday present.

Yet now, the car was in Chen Feng's possession. Zhao Shihua didn't understand how, but he knew for sure it wasn't rented—such a car was simply unaffordable to lease!

"What are you trying to say, hubby?" Xia Zilan asked, utterly confused. If it wasn't a rental, did Chen Feng actually own the car?

"I'm saying you should steer clear of Xia Mengyao and Chen Feng from now on! And as for today's grudge—I'd let it go if I were you," Zhao Shihua stated icily, then turned and got into the driver's seat, leaving Xia Zilan behind.

Fuming, Xia Zilan stamped her foot and hurried after him.

Inside the car, Xia Mengyao turned to Chen Feng and said, "You shouldn't do things like this."

"Do what?" Chen Feng asked, genuinely puzzled.

"Renting cars," Xia Mengyao shot back with a frustrated glare. "I appreciate that you don't want me to feel embarrassed, but there's no need to rent a car, especially one so expensive."

Chen Feng wore an odd look on his face. He had been pondering how to explain the car's origins to Xia Mengyao, but as it turned out, Xia Mengyao had conveniently come up with her own explanation.

"I didn't really spend much money, but rest assured, I won't be doing anything like this again," Chen Feng assured her, his face betraying no emotion.

"That's good to hear."

Xia Mengyao turned away, her face still stern, but the corners of her mouth betrayed a faint, almost imperceptible smile.

Chen Zhong's work was impressively swift. In under half a day, he had hammered out the specifics of a deal with Shen Hongchang. The Chen Family would invest 35 billion, with Shen Hongchang contributing 15 billion. Together, they formed a joint venture in the tourism sector, christening the new company Dingfeng.

Dingfeng Corporation was set to build a sprawling resort at Mount Yuquan, fully developing the area's scenic potential. The news spread like wildfire across Cangzhou, igniting a buzz in every nook and cranny of the city.
