C2 Strange Encounter

A peculiar urge overcame Ava, as though she were being led deeper into the forest by an unseen power. Her heart pounded in her chest as she made her way through the thick underbrush. The only sound to break the suffocating silence was the rustling of unseen creatures.

A strange, frightening voice appeared out of nowhere. It surrounded her, appearing to come from all directions. It said, "Ava," sending shivers down her spine.

"Ava," it called again, its words dripping with malice.

Ava opened her mouth to reply, but her voice became stuck in her throat. "Who are you? What do you want?"

"Do not embrace your destiny," It snarled, the sound seemed to come from all around the forest.

Ava’s eyes widened with fear and curiosity. "What destiny? What do you mean?"

Ava’s eyes raced around, trying to find the source of the menacing voice, but she was unable to spot anything. The voice persisted in its ominous chant, each syllable a vicious indictment.

"You are not worthy," it taunted. "You are weak and insignificant. You carry a curse, not a blessing."

Ava gripped the side of a tree, her hands shaking. These evil whispers were haunting her, but she had no idea who or what it was. It felt like a violation of her very being, a violation of her hopes and desires.

The whispering started as she descended farther into the dream forest faint, hardly audible, yet increasing in volume over time. Her thoughts ware filled with dread as a result of the weird, disturbing, and foreign voices. Every voice seemed to be talking about something alien, something she could not comprehend.

Ava’s throat congealed with breath. There was a real threat, and the terror it instilled was overwhelming. These ominous murmurs were confirming her deep-seated feelings of alienation and unease—a sense that she had never quite fit in.

"I will make sure you suffer," the voice hissed, its words sinking into her mind like daggers. "I will make your life a living hell if you dare to defy me."

Ava had a deep sense of dread and tears welled up in her eyes. The voice tormented her more, conjuring up ominous pictures and ominous forecasts. It felt like this evil force was ripping apart the fundamental fabric of her fate.

However, despite this terrifying attack, a glimmer of resolve flared inside her. All her life, Ava had experienced rejection, agony, and loneliness; she would not be intimidated by these subtle menaces.

She will not be moved by your darkness, she cried out into the stifling silence, mustering all the courage she could summon. “My destiny is my own, and I will embrace it, no matter the cost."

The voice ceased, as though surprised by her disobedience. Ava glanced at her surroundings and realized she had moved more into the woods and away from her parents” grave, but she was unable to understand what the voice meant. She checked the time on her wristwatch.

“Shit I have to get back” Ava cursed realizing she was far from town and she had to return as quickly as possible to prepare for the mating ceremony

Back at the Moonwood pack, preparations for the mate selection ceremony were in full swing. Alora had been busy all day helping with the preparations and making sure everything was ideal for the celebration. The thought of being the Alpha’s mate intrigued and unsettled her at the same time.

“There you go”. Alora said, after applying the last touch of makeup on Ava’s face you look stunning” Alora commended Ava after taking a close look at her.

Ava was stunned when she finally looked at the mirror, she couldn”t believe that it was her very own reflection she was looking at. She had always known that Alora was very good at fashion but this was just unbelievable.

“Thank you so much Alora, you’ve helped me out. I don’t know what I’d ever do without you”

After leaving the house, they head directly to the clearing. They had become so engrossed in small talk and makeup that they had lost all sense of time. Nearing midnight, the streets were a flurry of activity with numerous decorations and live entertainment. That night, the moon shone more brightly than usual, everyone was having celebrating, and the atmosphere was enchanting.

“I feel like there is something strange going on this evening, just look at how the moon is shining brightly, this has never happened before, do you think it’s a sign that something bad is going to happen?” Unable to get rid of the unease that had been bothering her since they left the house, Ava questioned.

“Oh please, Ava, why must you be such a pessimist? Alora queried. "Look, the entire pack is having a great time, and the atmosphere is amazing. I believe that the moon’s presence is a lucky sign that tonight will be one of the most memorable days of our lives, so relax and enjoy the evening because you never know when you’ll get the chance to do it again.”

Alora’s optimism always had a way of rubbing off positively on Ava’s mood, but this time it didn’t work, no matter how hard she tried to shake off the negative feelings, it always came back to disrupt her happy thoughts. She made the decision to ignore the idea since there was no way anything could go wrong on this particular night. They walked out of the house and directly toward the clearing.

There was a sense of excitement in the air as Moonwood pack members gathered in the clearing under the silver moonlight. With her heart racing, Ava stood at the brink. Pam was thrilled and anxious at the same time who wouldn’t be, given that everything about Damon was astoundingly wonderful up close?

The time had come. Damon stepped forward, his voice commanding the attention of the pack. "We are gathered here tonight for the moon mating ceremony, where I will select my mate, my Luna, the one who will stand by my side and lead Moonwood pack alongside me."

One could feel the excitement building. Alora smiled comfortingly at Ava as she stood by her side. Knowing that Alora would always support her, Ava hoped their friendship wouldn’t be strained by the impending reveal.

Damon’s gaze swept the crowd, and Ava’s heart raced as their eyes briefly met. For a moment, she allowed herself to hope, to believe that perhaps he had changed his mind, that he had seen something in her worth choosing but then, something unexpected happened.
