C6 Hallucinations

Ava ran into the woods as quickly as her legs would allow, but she had no idea how far she still had to go since it seemed like she would never stop. She had only heard that a cliff marked the boundary of Moonwood territory; she had never visited the actual territorial boundary. She realized that she was standing on a steep cliff and stopped.

“This is it, the territorial borderline ” she muttered, She partially smiled realizing the freedom she had always desired had finally appeared. It was almost like a forest as she peered over the sheer height of the cliff, with nothing but trees in sight below it. Ava released an irritated sigh.

“I can’t chicken out now” She said tying to motivate herself.

“Fuck, here goes nothing” she yelled and jumped. She landed on her right elbow and hip after jumping, and she screamed in agony as she felt a stinging ache on my shoulder. She was standing with her left arm supporting her right arm due to a dislocated right shoulder. She pulled out one of her tops from her bag pack, draped it around her right arm, and tied it around her neck.

There are limitations to what one can accomplish with one hand, so Ava zipped her bag and slung it over her left shoulder. The injuries she sustained was not unexpected, being an omega not only made her one of the weakest wolf in her pack but also meant that her healing process was far slower than an average wolf. She was official a stray and had no idea what to do after fleeing. Although the injury would undoubtedly slow her pace, there was no going back at this point. She strolled for what seemed like an eternity, a lengthy and exhausting stroll, and she just kept going past trees.

“Where the fuck is this place!? Ava yelled out in frustration, doubt started to creep in. “What’s the plan now?” She pondered in her head. She had the audacity to pack her bags and fly away from home without hesitation, but now she found herself stranded, without any destination or plans, in the middle of nowhere.

She was almost certain she was lost, she didn’t even bring a map. She started to question whether leaving Moonwood was the correct decision once more. She had been walking all night, and since it was almost dawn and she was probably already far from Moonwood, she made the decision to take a nap.

Even though it was midday, Ava was already making her way across the mountains. Because of her injuries, she was unable to move at her maximum speed, and the majority of the rocks were high. As dusk approached, Ava discovered a tiny cave where she could spend the night.

The next morning…..

Ava’s attempts to fall back asleep were unsuccessful due to the persistant sound of chirping birds when she woke up. Knowing that she wouldn’t be getting any more sleep made her grumble, so she made the decision to eat some snacks and carry on with her journey.

After wandering for several hours, she eventually came to a path that led to two roads. It was difficult for her to decide which way to choose because she didn’t know where the roads led to. She decided to take the route that goes around the mountain’s path, the grasses were brittle due to the recent dry weather, and the forest was rustic and oak-brown.

As far as her head could rise, the trees knotted limbs soared endlessly; they were ancient strongholds that stood tall and proud. Ava's surroundings blurred as the boundary between reality and illusion became increasingly elusive. She felt as if the forest was alive, responding to her presence with a symphony of fantastical sights and sounds. Strange visions, both captivating and disorienting, unfolded before her.

As Ava walked deeper into the forest, Wrapped around the shaggy heads of the oak trees were coils of vaporous mist. Sensual and deceptive, they writhed around them like the milky smoke of a conjuror. Mist sieves stroked the bark coated in lichen, adding a ghostly vapor to the moist breath of the forest as it glided with lethal intent. It filled vacant spaces, stifled sounds, and haunted glades. The sacred site, where the trees dared not grow, was enveloped in silence. There was nothing to stir, nothing to shine, nothing to sing.

The entire woodland was shrouded in thick fog, making it impossible for Ava to find her way down the route. Suddenly, she began to feel lightheaded; twisted shadow images danced before her eyes, their twisted faces and lengthened limbs sending chills down her spine. As she walked, the forest transformed. Trees elongated into towering figures, their branches weaving patterns of ancient tales. The luminescent flowers pulsed with an otherworldly glow, casting a radiation of colors that danced before Ava's eyes. The air seemed to filled with unseen magic.

Ava tried to grab onto the fading reality, but it slid through her fingers like smoke as she strained to make sense of the warped reality that was playing out around her. She wasn’t sure what was real and what was just a fabrication of her imagination. Whispers of curses and insults she had once experienced while at Moonwood came back to haunt her, echoing in her mind and refusing to go away. All other ideas were drowned out by the deafening chorus of voices echoing in her head, and her concentration was broken by the disturbing hallucination, which prevented her from focusing.

“No, no none of this is real” Ava mumbled repeatedly shaking her head, she was trying to shake off the thought and come to her senses.

“Get out my head” Ava shouted covering her ear immediately the fogs disappeared and all the hallucination and voices stopped.

She was startled to see how everything had halted so suddenly and wondered why in the world this had happened. It seemed as though nothing had happened, was she dreaming? Only moments before, dense fog covered the entire area and she was experiencing hallucinations. Her face was full of fear, and her bottom lips shook, she rushed as fast as she could to escape because she was afraid of having to stay there any longer. She was grateful to the moon goddess for her kind the ability to move rapidly, even though she was not as fast as others. She came to a stop when she came across a meadow.
