C7 Finding out

ALPHA BRAN'S POV

Thorne's footsteps echoed through the dimly lit corridors of Ironclaw Legion's main hall as he made his way to my throne chamber.

The flickering torches cast eerie shadows on the stone walls, adding an air of solemnity to the late-night meeting.

As Thorne approached the heavy oak doors, guarded by two burly sentinels, he straightened his posture and prepared himself for the task at hand.

The fate of the legion often hung in the balance during these late-night discussions, and Thorne knew the weight of his words could sway the course of events.

The doors creaked open as the guards led Thorne inside the chamber. I sat on my throne, my towering figure bathed in the warm light of candles.

My piercing eyes focused on Thorne, quietly demanding the most recent details on the Legion's activities.

"Thorne, what brings you here at this hour?" My voice rumbled like distant thunder, commanding attention.

"Alpha Bran," Thorne began, his voice steady and respectful.

"Alpha Bran, I bring news of great importance regarding our territory's defense and the current state of affairs."

My gaze relaxed significantly. "Speak, Thorne." "What news do you bring?”

Thorne straightened up, his manner steady and confident. "First, I am delighted to inform you that our defenses have been greatly enhanced. The recent invasion attempt by the Blood Moon Pack was quickly repulsed, thanks to our soldiers' vigilance and competence.”

I nodded approvingly, a hint of pride in his eyes. "Excellent news, Thorne. Our strength grows with each victory."

Thorne nodded, "indeed, Alpha Bran. Furthermore, our scouts have identified several weaker packs in neighboring territories. With your approval, we can begin the process of conquering and assimilating them into our legion, thereby expanding our influence."

My lips curled into a predatory smile. "Yes, Thorne. Prepare the necessary forces and strategies."

Thorne continued, his voice carrying a note of caution. "However, there are whispers among the packs of a looming war.

My brows furrowed, my expression hardening. "Explain."

Thorne cleared his throat, gathering his thoughts before continuing. "The Blood Moon Coven has proposed a war against us. They believe our territory and resources would be better suited under their control."

My eyes narrowed, a flicker of anger crossing my features. "A war, you say? Against us? The Blood Moon Coven dares to challenge us. They underestimate our strength."

Thorne nodded gravely. "Indeed, Alpha Bran. But we must be prepared for any eventuality. Their forces are powerful, and their alliance with other packs could tip the scales against us." I stood immediately from my throne.

"Prepare our defenses, Thorne. Prepare our warriors and fortify our borders. We will not flinch in the face of threats. Ironclaw will be strong.”

Thorne bowed deeply, “as you command, Alpha Bran. I still have more to discuss with you, Alpha..." Thorne began tentatively, his eyes meeting with my stern gaze.

"Go ahead, speak up," I commanded, my voice echoing with authority.

Thorne took a long breath, bracing himself for what was coming. "It is about the prophecy and Casey I'll begin with the prophecy," he replied, his voice firm but with a trace of doubt.

He recounted how he and Elder Sophia had dug into the depths of ancient prophecies, discovering cryptic claims and eerie happenings prophesied to occur in the final days.

"One of which," Thorne went on, "is the constant events of rejected and second chance partners, as well as rumors of approaching war. We're nearing the end, Alpha and the indicators are getting more visible by the day.”

My brow pinched in thought as I processed Thorne's comments. "How do you know all these things?" I inquired, my tone a mix of interest and unbelief.

"Elder Sophia and I sought the counsel of a warlock earlier this night," Thorne confessed, his eyes darting briefly to the ground before meeting Bran's gaze again.

"About Casey..." My voice cut through the air, my eyes narrowing as I focused on the topic at hand.

Thorne hesitated. "I... I must confess, Alpha," he said, his voice laced with embarrassment, "there was an incident between me and Casey earlier this evening.”

My eyes narrowed further, a cold edge entering my voice. "Speak, Thorne. I command you."

Thorne took a deep breath, steeling himself to recount the events that had unfolded in his chamber that fateful night. "Alpha Bran, it started innocently enough. I returned to my chamber, and there she was, diligently cleaning."

I listened intently, with my gaze undistracted as Thorne continued, “ My desires clouded my judgment, and I made a grave mistake."

The gravity of Thorne's comments hung heavy in the air. My face wrinkled as I asked, "What mistake did you make, Thorne?”

Thorne's voice wavered slightly as he confessed, "I... I attempted to force myself on her, Alpha. I know it was wrong, and I deeply regret it."

My expression darkened, a mix of disappointment and concern etched on my face. "Continue," he commanded, his tone firm yet composed.

Thorne took a moment to gather himself before continuing, "But she... she wasn't just an ordinary girl, Alpha. She transformed before my eyes into the most magnificent wolf I have ever seen. She was both dreadful and magnificent, Alpha."

My eyes widened in surprise, a hint of disbelief coloring my features. "Are you saying she morphed into a wolf right before your eyes?" I asked him again to be sure I heard him right.

"Yes, Alpha. It was unlike anything I've ever witnessed before. Her strength, her power..." Thorne trailed off, the memory still vivid in his mind.

"So you attempted to sleep with my mate?" My voice dripped with disappointment, my eyes flashing with a mix of anger and incredulity.

"I would've never guessed, Thorne, especially considering how much you despise Casey." I voiced out my disappointment, not being able to hold it back anymore.

"Yes, I do," Thorne nodded, his shame evident in his lowered gaze.

"But I am still ashamed that you could even think of laying with a nobody like that. How could you stoop so low, Thorne?" I spoke up again, as my gazed never left him.

"The main point here is her strength and poise," Thorne interjected, “her wolf was intimidating, Alpha. What if..."

"You think she might be the Ultimate Alpha, the warlock is talking about?" My voice cut through Thorne's speculation, with my face hardened into a fierce expression.

"There is a possibility, Alpha," Thorne confessed, his uneasiness apparent.

"Don't be foolish, Thorne," I admonished, my tone firm. "Summon Elder Sophia this instant. We're going to visit the warlock again tonight."

Thorne nodded and moved to exit of the chamber, the weight of his deeds and the impending uncertainties weighing hard on his thoughts, as I watched him leave finally.

I sat back on my throne again, my mind distracted by the prophecy, Casey's startling display of strength, and the mysteries that lay ahead.

About half an hour later, our journey to the warlock's house began. The night was eerily silent, with only the occasional hoot of an owl breaking the stillness.

The moon hung low in the sky, casting an otherworldly glow over the landscape as I, Thorne, and Elder Sophia made our way through the darkened forest.

As we approached the warlock's dwelling, a sense of anticipation hung in the air.

The warlock was known for his cryptic insights and mysterious predictions, and tonight, we sought answers to the looming prophecies that had been haunting us, and I really hope we could get it tonight.

The door to the warlock's house creaked open as we entered, greeted by the musty scent of ancient tomes and brewing potions.

The warlock, a hunched figure with piercing eyes and a long, unkempt beard, sat before them, his gaze penetrating as if he could see into our very souls.

"Welcome, seekers of truth," the warlock rasped, his voice carrying an otherworldly weight.

I wasted no time getting to the heart of the matter. "Tell us, warlock, of the prophecy. What is to come for our kind?"

The warlock broke into a tentative smile, his gnarled hands reaching for a dusty tome beside him.

"Since the beginning of time, the werewolf world has been divided into different denominations and packs, each vying for supremacy."

Thorne leaned in, his curiosity piqued. "And what of the future? What do the stars foretell?"

The warlock's eyes gleamed with an otherworldly light as he spoke. "In the last days, supremacy will be seized by a few kings. The reign of the packs will come to an end, paving the way for a new order."

My brow furrowed, as I listened to him talk. "And who will be these kings? Do you have any insight into their identities?"

The warlock's laughter filled the room, echoing off the stone walls. "Oh, but of course. Out of the weakest shall come the strongest. The year of destiny approaches, and the Alpha shall rise to break and build. The Alpha shall be the forerunner of the chosen ruler of the new government."

Thorne exchanged a puzzled glance with Elder Sophia, both trying to decipher the warlock's cryptic words. "What do you mean, warlock?" Thorne ventured, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

The warlock's laughter intensified, bordering on hysteria. "The moon goddess has spoken, my dear seekers. The Alpha, once deemed weak, will emerge as a beacon of transformation. The chosen king will lead the establishment of a one-world government."

My patience wore thin as I demanded, "But who is this Alpha? Where will they come from?"

The warlock's laughter subsided, replaced by a knowing grin. "Ah, the mysteries of fate. The Alpha will emerge from the unlikeliest of places, the future is written in the stars, and the Alpha's path is set."

I exchanged glances with Thorne and Elder Sophia, our emotions a mix of surprise and curiosity.

"Thank you, wise one," I said, my tone filled with disappointment but respectful. "Your insights have been... enlightening.”

"Only the ultimate Alpha, can those around her, will survive," the warlocks added, and we thanked him once more.

"What do you make of his words, Alpha?" Thorne asked as we made their way out of the warlock's house.

My gaze was steely, and my mind already racing with thoughts of the prophecy. "We must search for Casey immediately, she might really be the ultimate Alpha,”

My jaw clenched as I gazed out into the darkness, my thoughts racing with possibilities.

"If what you said to me is true, judging from the warlock's alterations, she might be the Ultimate Alpha and we need her by our side before our rivals find out." I turned to Thorne and said,

"I need you to organize wolves to search for Casey, we can afford to let our enemies find her before us," I told him, while he nodded.

"I need her here by tomorrow morning, so you have to start your search right away,” I instructed him, as him bowed immediately, as we continue our journey back home.
